✈️ How to Predict Foreign Travel

The rule of thumb: Short business trips ride the 3rd. Long journeys ride the 9th. Permanent migration rides the 12th. All three lighting up at once = it's not a question of "might", it's "will".

Step 1 · 🔺 The 7-9-12 Triangle of Foreign Travel

Every Vedic foreign-travel reading starts with this triangle:

✅ When the same planet rules or sits in two or three of these houses → strong foreign-travel signature.

✅ When the lagna lord is in any of these → it's part of the native's identity to live/work abroad.

Step 2 · 🌑 Foreign-Travel Karakas — Rahu & Saturn

These two planets are the natural karakas of going abroad.

Read each karaka

1. Where is it placed? (House from lagna)
2. Where is it placed from Moon? (Chandra-lagna view)
3. Is it in the 7-9-12 of either? → reinforces travel
4. Does it aspect the 7-9-12 lords? → activates them

💡 Pattern to spot: Rahu in 9th and Saturn ruling the 12th — the classic "study abroad and stay" combination.

Step 3 · 🛑 Bhadhakasthana — the Inevitable House

The Bhadhakasthana is the house of forced, unavoidable change. It depends on the lagna's modality:

🔥 When Bhadhakasthana coincides with a foreign-travel house (e.g. fixed sign → 9th is also Bhadhaka), the foreign indication is doubled:

Same for dvi-svabhava lagnas with 7th, or chara lagnas with 11th.

Step 4 · 🎯 Sahamas — Sensitive Foreign-Travel Points

Sahamas are computed sensitive degrees in the zodiac — Vedic equivalents of Arabic Parts. Two matter for travel:

How to use them

1. Compute the Sahama position (formula-based — your tools do this).
2. Note the sign and house of the Sahama in D1.
3. Find the Sahama lord (lord of the sign the Sahama falls in).
4. Strong indications when any of these are true:
   • Sahama sits in the 7th, 9th, or 12th
   • Sahama sits in the Bhadhakasthana
   • A planet is within ~15 arc-minutes of the Sahama degree
   • Sahama lord is in a travel house or aspecting it

📜 Classical example: Native born with Jalapatana Sahama at 23° Cancer (Bhadhakasthana), Sun aspecting it, linked to Rahu via the 9L → moved overseas in his 20s, never returned.

Step 5 · 📅 The Annual-Chart Power Move (Tithi Pravesha)

Tithi Pravesha (TP) is the Vedic annual chart — cast for the exact moment the birth tithi recurs each year. It is the sharpest tool for year-of-event prediction.

What to check in the TP chart

1. Year-Lord (the dispositor of the TP-lagna) — does it own or sit in 7/9/12?
2. Horalord of the TP — placed in a travel house in its own sign? = travel-friendly
3. TP's 9L placement
4. Rahu's TP position — if in 9th or 12th of TP, strong year for foreign moves
5. Sahamas in TP — Paradesha / Jalapatana refreshed annually
6. TP Vimshottari — sub-period of a travel timer

🧠 PVR insight: "In annual charts, the Mahadasa at the time of an event should usually make excellent sense. The strongest candidate to give an event should give it in its own Mahadasa."

Step 6 · ⏳ Dasa Convergence

Foreign travel happens in dasa periods of:

✅ Strongest when all four levels (MD → AD → PD → SD) are lit by different timers from this list.

🧪 Worked Example

Native moves from India to USA in February 1985.

The year-lord single-handedly connected 7-9-12. That alone is the strongest possible annual indication.
