👶 How to Predict Children

Single rule, repeated: D1 alone is promise. D7 (Saptamsa) is fulfilment. The current dasa decides timing. All three must agree before you say anything firm.

Step 1 · 🏠 D1 — The Promise

1a. The 5th house & 5th lord

1b. Jupiter — the natural karaka of progeny

Jupiter is the primary karaka for children — it represents the jiva (the soul that comes to you).

The Putrakaraka is the 3rd-ranked Chara karaka by degree (Sun is 1st in some schools — check your software):

Step 2 · 🪞 D7 (Saptamsa) — Fulfilment

The D7 is the dedicated children chart.

Doubly powerful. Read it like the 1st house of a "child sub-chart".

2c. Jupiter's D7 placement

• 🌟 Jupiter in kendras of D7 → children are central & fortunate
• 🌟 Jupiter in 5H of D7 → blessing of children
• ⚠️ Jupiter in 8H or 12H of D7 → delay or unconventional path

2d. Saturn in D7

Saturn in D7's 5H or aspecting 5L → delay, older age at parenthood, responsibility-heavy.

2e. Moon in D7 (for female charts)

• Strong Moon = good reproductive health & emotional connection
• Afflicted Moon = hormonal / emotional challenges

Step 3 · 🪞 D9 Cross-Check

D9 is the quality chart — even for children, it shows the inner dharmic relationship with progeny.

• D9 5H benefic → soul-aligned children
• D9 5L well-placed → fulfilling parent-child bond
• AK in 5H of D9 → child is a karmic mirror / dharmic teacher

Step 4 · 🎯 Sahamas — Sensitive Points

Putra Sahama

The Putra Sahama is the sensitive degree for children. When Sahama-related lords activate during a dasa, conception becomes likely.

Strong indications:

• ✅ Putra Sahama falls in the 5H (D1 or D7)
• ✅ Sahama lord active in current dasa
• ✅ Jupiter / 5L tightly conjunct the Sahama
• ✅ Aspected by natural benefics

Putrapada (A5)

The Arudha of the 5th house (called Putrapada / Mantrapada / Yashapada) = tangible, visible manifestation of children. Place it in the chart and check its lord.

• Rahu / Ketu in the 5H of D7
