Vimshottari Sub-Periods (AD/PD/SD/PrD)

This page explains the nested five-level timing model: Mahadasha, Antardasha, Pratyantardasha, Sookshma, and Prana.

Proportion Formula

Child period length = Parent period length x (child lord years / 120).

Apply the same proportional logic recursively at each level.

Nested Diagram

  • Mahadasha (years)
  • Antardasha (months/years)
  • Pratyantardasha (months)
  • Sookshma (days/weeks)
  • Prana (hours/days)

Worked Example

Given a 16-year Jupiter MD, Saturn AD = 16 x (19/120) = 2.533 years.

Then Mercury PD inside Saturn AD = 2.533 x (17/120) = 0.359 years (~131 days).

Continue similarly for SD and PrD.

Reading rule: higher levels set theme; lower levels trigger specific event windows.
