Mixed Tajaka-Natal Chart

The Mixed Tajaka-Natal Chart is a combined chart view that overlays the natal (birth) planetary positions and the Tajaka (Solar Return) planetary positions in a single wheel. It is accessed in jHora by clicking "Show Mixed Tajaka-Natal Chart" from the Tajaka main screen.

This overlay is a powerful analytical tool because it reveals exactly which natal houses and planets are being activated, reinforced, or challenged by the Tajaka chart's placements — connecting the annual forecast back to the individual's permanent natal blueprint.

What the Mixed Chart Shows

Natal Planets in Tajaka Houses

By overlaying the Tajaka Lagna onto the natal chart, you can see which natal houses are being lit up by the Tajaka ascendant. The Tajaka Lagna's house position in the natal chart reveals the primary life domain that the year emphasises.

Tajaka Planets on Natal Planets

When a Tajaka planet falls on or very close to a natal planet's degree, it creates a conjunction of natal and Tajaka energy. This is a powerful signal that the natal planet's themes will be directly triggered during the year.

Tajaka Planets in Natal Houses

The house in the natal chart where a Tajaka planet falls indicates the life area being activated by that planet for the year. Multiple Tajaka planets in the same natal house concentrate the year's focus there.

Natal Planets Aspecting Tajaka Lagna

Natal planets that aspect or conjunct the Tajaka Lagna become influential background factors — they colour the entire year's energy with their natal significations.

Key Combinations to Look For

CombinationSignificance
Tajaka Lagna conjunct natal LagnaVery powerful year for self — the year strongly reinforces the natal persona and brings events of personal significance
Tajaka Lagna conjunct natal planetThat natal planet becomes the "flavour" of the entire year — its themes dominate all outcomes
Tajaka Sun conjunct natal SunThis happens approximately every 4 years and is an especially potent Tajaka year — solar vitality, authority, and life purpose are maximally activated
Tajaka planet on natal Dasha lordConfirms and amplifies the natal Dasha's themes — both systems are pointing to the same planet
Tajaka planets clustering in one natal houseThat house's life domain is the year's dominant focus (e.g., 7th house cluster → marriage, partnerships; 10th house cluster → career)
Tajaka malefics on sensitive natal pointsChallenging events in the natal area signified by that point; requires careful monitoring and proactive planning
Tajaka benefics on natal Dasha/Antardasha lordThe natal period is supported and enhanced by the Tajaka energy — a generally favourable year within that dasha

How to Read the Mixed Chart — Step by Step

  1. Locate the Tajaka Lagna in the natal chart. The house it falls in shows the primary focus of the year. If the Tajaka Lagna falls in natal house 10, career and public standing will be prominent themes.
  2. Identify Tajaka planets conjunct natal planets. Any Tajaka planet within ~5° of a natal planet creates a fusion of energies for the year. A Tajaka Jupiter on natal Venus suggests an expanded, joyful experience of Venusian themes (relationships, finances, arts).
  3. Note which natal houses have multiple Tajaka planets. Concentrations of Tajaka planets in one or two natal houses signal where most of the year's activity and events will occur.
  4. Check the Varshesh (Year Lord) against the natal chart. The house occupied by the Varshesh in the natal chart, and the houses it lords natally, reveal additional themes the year will bring.
  5. Cross-verify with natal dasha. If the current natal dasha lord is also prominently placed in the Tajaka chart (or conjuncts the Tajaka Lagna), the natal and Tajaka systems are aligned — predictions become more reliable.

Muntha — The Progressed Ascendant

Muntha is a point unique to Tajaka that represents the natal Lagna progressed at the rate of one sign per year. In the mixed chart, Muntha shows the link between the birth chart and the annual chart:

Calculating Muntha

  • Start from the natal Lagna sign
  • Progress forward one sign for each completed year of life
  • For year 32: count 32 signs forward from the natal Lagna sign (modulo 12)

Muntha's House in Tajaka Chart

  • Houses 1, 2, 3, 5, 9, 10, 11 → favourable year
  • Houses 6, 8, 12 → unfavourable; potential illness, obstacles, or losses
  • Houses 4, 7 → mixed results; transitions and changes
