VE7 Special Lagna

What is VE7?

VE7 is a special research Lagna developed by PVR using the Planetary Special Lagna Research feature in JHora:

  • Access: Edit menu → Planetary Special Lagna Research → Planet: Venus, Speed Factor: 7
  • Theory: Venus is the karaka of marriage (seventh house signification). Speed factor 7 corresponds to the seventh house. The combination of Venus (marriage karaka) × 7 (marriage house number) creates a Lagna that resonates with marriage timing.
  • Sign change rate: VE7 changes sign every approximately 17 minutes (120 minutes ÷ 7 ≈ 17 minutes per sign). Birth time must be accurate to within this window.

VE7 Placement

  • VE7 sign: Virgo, at approximately 10°
  • Seventh from VE7: Pisces (the opposite sign of Virgo)
  • Lord of the 7th from VE7: Jupiter (lord of Pisces)

The VE7 Marriage Rule

For marriage to occur in a given Dasha/Antardasha, the seventh house from VE7 must be linked to the natal Lagna. Linkage can be any of:

  1. Lord of 7th from VE7 is in natal Lagna
  2. Natal Lagna lord is in the 7th from VE7
  3. Lord of 7th from VE7 and natal Lagna lord aspect each other (full, three-quarter, or half aspect)
  4. A dispositorship chain connects them

Verification for This Chart

Mercury Mahadasha (Dasha lord)

  • Mercury is placed in the natal Lagna
  • Mercury aspects Jupiter (lord of Pisces = 7th from VE7)
  • Linkage confirmed: Mercury in Lagna → aspects Jupiter (7th-from-VE7 lord) → connects Lagna to the 7th from VE7 ✓

Saturn Antardasha (Antardasha lord)

  • Saturn is in Virgo — the same sign as VE7
  • Saturn has a three-quarter aspect (or direct aspect) on Leo/Pisces connections
  • Saturn aspects the seventh from VE7 (Pisces) with a three-quarter aspect
  • Saturn is the depositor of the 7th from VE7 lord (through the dispositorship chain)
  • Saturn is also with the Lagna Lord (within the same sign / same decanate — "within nine degrees, both in first ten degrees, same Drekana")
  • Linkage confirmed: Saturn in Virgo (VE7 sign) → aspects 7th from VE7 (Pisces) → linked to Lagna through co-placement with Lagna lord ✓

Annual Chart Confirmation (Tithi Pravesha 1972)

  • PVR checked the 1972 Tithi Pravesha (annual chart)
  • Hora lord in annual chart: Mercury
  • VE7 in annual chart: Aquarius at 7°
  • Seventh from VE7 in annual chart: Leo — which is the natal Lagna itself
  • Linkage in annual chart: "The seventh from VE7 is Lagna. So marriage can occur during the year." ✓

PVR's Notes on Saturn as Dasha Lord

  • Saturn is the natal seventh lord (independently, from the natal chart analysis)
  • Saturn is the seventh lord in the Navamsa as well
  • This independent confirmation (Saturn = 7L in both Rashi and Navamsa) gives Saturn additional strength as the marriage-timing planet
  • "Saturn is seventh lord, and if you look at the Navamsa, again, Saturn is seventh lord. So he can win over other planets."

Precision Caveat

  • VE7 changes sign every ~17 minutes in Rashi
  • If taken in Navamsa: changes every ~2 minutes (17 ÷ 9 ≈ 1.9 minutes)
  • PVR's conclusion: "Using VE7 in charts other than Rashi is very tricky. It is a matter of precision. Just stick to Rashi."
  • The technique should only be applied in the Rashi chart, not Navamsa or other divisionals

Research Disclaimer

  • PVR: "This is just research. It can be false. Like I said, eighty percent of the charts I have seen do satisfy it, but it's not really infallible, so don't be under that impression."
  • Conditional Dashas should be checked: "When you are looking at Nakshatra Dasha, it's not always Vimshottari. You have to see if there is any other conditional Dasha that applies ahead of Vimshottari."

Teaching Points

  1. VE7 as marriage research tool: A special Lagna technique for verifying which Dasha/Antardasha period will bring marriage. Not a classical Parashara rule but a research-based extension of the special Lagna principle.

  2. Both Dasha and Antardasha must connect: Both the Mahadasha lord AND the Antardasha lord must independently link the 7th from VE7 to the natal Lagna. If only one connects, marriage is less certain.

  3. Annual chart cross-verification: Checking the Tithi Pravesha (annual chart) for the year of marriage adds another layer of confirmation. If VE7 in the annual chart has its 7th falling on natal Lagna, the year is especially primed for marriage.

  4. Native's seventh lord confirms: When the Antardasha lord is independently the seventh lord in both Rashi and Navamsa, that convergence strengthens the prediction.

  5. Rashi only: VE7 should only be applied in the Rashi chart due to time precision requirements. Navamsa application is theoretically possible but practically impossible to verify without sub-2-minute birth time accuracy.
