Key principle: House ownership (Lagna lordship) governs whether a planet gives positive or negative results wherever it sits. Yogakaraka Saturn will give positive Saturn-flavored results even in the 2nd from AL (austerity, monk-resources) rather than negative ones (poverty, impoverishment).

Dasamsa (D10) = chart of karma/work. Digpalaka Amsas = which deity's amsa a planet falls in determines the nature of the work.

Pope's Dasamsa — Lagna

All three planets on the Lagna axis in Ishana amsa = the work of this person is entirely governed by Ishana = religiousness, following tradition, religious knowledge. This is the most explicit signature for a priest/religious leader.

[!TIP] Practical reading rule: If you see multiple planets in Lagna of D10 occupying the same Digpalaka amsa, the person's entire career is dominated by that deity's domain. Three planets in Ishana → unmistakably a religious vocation.

Raja Yoga in Dasamsa AL

Mars simultaneously = Lagna lord + Ghatika Lagna (GL) lord + present in Arudha Lagna + in Indra amsa → extreme authority and power.

[!IMPORTANT] Triple convergence rule: When the same planet is associated with:

1. Lagna (existence)
2. Ghatika Lagna (source of power and authority)
3. Arudha Lagna (image/status)

...and that planet falls in Indra's amsa → the person will have extraordinary power and authority. The papal throne followed from this.

Dasamsa — Sun's Brahma Amsa

⏳ Correct Dasha: Saptati Sama {#pope-dasha}

Is Vimshottari Dasha correct? No. Condition check:

• Lagna lord Venus is in the 7th house → Saptati Sama Dasha (70-year cycle) applies

Why not Vimshottari (120-year cycle)? Because the specific condition (Lagna lord in 7th) applies both in Rashi AND D10. This double confirmation makes Saptati Sama the strongest applicable conditional dasha.
