  • Fixed sign aspects (Class 40): Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) aspect the other three fixed signs via Rashi Drishti. Scorpio aspects Capricorn, Aries, Cancer (confirmed in Class 40 discussion of Bill Gates' Navamsa — Scorpio Lagna aspects Capricorn, Aries, Cancer).
  • Scorpio Navamsa Lagna (Class 40): Seen in two charts discussed — PVR's own son's chart and Pope John Paul II's chart. Strong Scorpio Navamsa Lagna with multiple planets influencing.

Sagittarius (Dhanu)

  • Prishtodaya sign (Class 32): Back-rising; results manifest in the final third.

Capricorn (Makara)

  • Prishtodaya sign (Class 32): Back-rising; results manifest in the final third.
  • Kali Yuga sign (Class 33): Capricorn is associated with Kali Yuga — Saturn owns it, and this age is Saturn's age (the iron age, the age of labor and discipline).
  • Makara Sankranti (Class 33): Sun entering Capricorn = significant mundane new year; especially relevant for themes of Kali Yuga, agriculture, and Saturn's influence on the year.
  • Capricorn Navamsa/Fixed sign rule (Class 40): Capricorn is aspected by fixed signs (Scorpio aspects Capricorn as a fixed sign aspect per PVR's Class 40 clarification).

Aquarius (Kumbha)

  • Shishodaya sign (Class 32): Head-rising; results manifest early.
  • Aquarius Navamsa Lagna (Class 40): Jaimini indicates that Aquarius Navamsa Lagna (via Katapayadi decoding of "dharme" = 11th sign) shows a person inclined toward construction of public works — lakes, tanks, gardens, roads, temples (per Sanjay Rath's interpretation).

Pisces (Meena)

  • Prishtodaya sign (Class 32): Back-rising; results manifest in the final third.
  • Ketu's Moola Trikona (Class 40): Pisces is Ketu's Moola Trikona sign. Ketu = Matsya Avatar (Vishnu's fish incarnation who rescued the Vedas).
  • Venus exalted (Class 40): Venus is exalted in Pisces — connected to the Triambakeshwar Jyotirlinga and the Mrityunjaya longevity blessing.
  • Maharishi sign (Class 40): Pisces = 12th sign = sign of samadhi. Rishis (Maharishis) are symbolized by Pisces. The deepest astrological knowledge was received in the state of samadhi — hence the Pisces connection to Jyotish Rishis.

  • Venus in a watery sign in Navamsa → lot of creativity. Watery signs enhance Venus's creative expression.
  • Moon in a watery sign in Navamsa → strong artistic ability (classical arts, performance).
  • "Watery signs are very important for creativity. Earthy signs are very important for thinking and attention, and watery is creation." (PVR, Class 40)

v1 Batch 5 — Classes 41–50

Signs Master Sheet — Batch 5 (Classes 41–50)

class-41

All Signs — Sirshodaya vs. Prishthodaya Classification

  • Sirshodaya (head-rising) signs: Give the results of the sign itself in the FIRST one-third of the Narayana Dasha; lord gives results in the MIDDLE third; occupants/aspectors in the LAST third.
  • Prishthodaya (back-rising) signs: Give the results of the sign itself in the LAST one-third; lord gives results in the MIDDLE third; occupants/aspectors in the FIRST third.
  • This classification is critical for applying the three-parts rule in Narayana Dasha.
  • Signs traditionally classified as Sirshodaya: Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Aquarius (some add Sagittarius).
  • Signs traditionally classified as Prishthodaya: Aries, Taurus, Capricorn, Pisces (the back-rising signs).
  • Sagittarius: sometimes classified as Sirshodaya in some lists; check the specific tradition being used.
  • Source: v41

Virgo

  • Sirshodaya sign (head-rising).
  • In Narayana Dasha of Navamsa: when Virgo Mahadasha runs, the sign itself gives results in the first third, Mercury (lord) gives results in the middle third, occupants/aspectors give in the last third.
  • Virgo Lagna: Mercury and Venus as lords of 1st/10th and 2nd/9th respectively — natural Yogakaraka combination possible.
  • Mentioned as "the best rising sign" humorously by the teacher (because of his own Virgo Lagna). (v50)
  • Source: v41, v50

class-42

Taurus

  • In annual chart context: Taurus is the sign where the Vivaha Sahama (marriage sensitive point) was found — indicating its significance for marriage events.
  • Taurus = sign of Venus's exaltation. A planet aspecting Taurus is like someone excited about attending a party where they feel most at ease.
  • "Do you remember the specialty of Taurus? It has the Vivaha Sahamam." (v50)
  • Source: v41, v50

Cancer

  • Movable sign — Badhesha for Cancer is the 11th lord (Saturn in standard charts from Cancer Lagna).
  • Cancer Lagna in annual chart: Mars as 5th+10th lord = Yogakaraka for Cancer. When Mars is in 6th (upachaya) and is the Yogakaraka = excellent placement.
  • Source: v48, v50

class-43

Aquarius

  • In D20 (Vimshamsa): Aquarius + Rahu/Ketu in the 4th from Atmakaraka = strong desire for liberation, unconventional spiritual path, intense spiritual dissatisfaction with the material world.
  • Fixed sign — Badhesha for Aquarius is the 9th lord (from Aquarius, that is Libra → Venus).
  • Source: v43

Pisces

  • Prishthodaya sign (back-rising).
  • Pisces = sign of mahrishis (sages), wisdom, spirituality. When 9th lord Sun and 8th lord Moon are in Pisces (Rasi chart), occult learning is blessed.
  • Pisces = "second best rising sign" (humorously noted by teacher after Virgo, reflecting his personal bias).
  • Jupiter is exalted in Cancer and owns Pisces/Sagittarius. Pisces Jupiter placements = deeply auspicious.
  • Source: v43, v50

class-44

Leo

  • In D24 (education): Leo can serve as a reference Lagna when analyzing a specific child's chart from the parent's chart.
  • Leo = odd sign (as Lagna in D7) → count forward for first child's house.
  • Leo sign: when the 5th counted forward falls in Leo, and Ketu (with Jupiter) is in Leo → male child indicator (Leo = odd sign).
  • In D24: Saturn and Mercury as 6th/7th and 2nd/3rd lords from Leo = functional malefics → education is slow, obstructed, lacking enthusiasm.
  • Source: v50

Sagittarius

  • Prishthodaya sign (back-rising).
  • In D10 Narayana Dasha: Sagittarius as the 10th house gives its results LAST (final third of dasha), lord Jupiter gives in the middle third, occupants/aspectors give in the first third.
  • Sagittarius = 9th house (dharma) from Aries; 4th house (basic education) from Virgo — context-dependent.
  • Source: v44, v47, v50

Libra

  • Sirshodaya sign (head-rising).
  • In D24: When Libra is the Narayana Dasha sign running, and Libra contains Sun, Rahu, and Ketu: the three-parts rule activates — the occupants (Sun, Rahu, Ketu) give results in the LAST third of the dasha (since Libra is Sirshodaya).
  • Libra = the annual Lagna of the child's mother's Tithi Pravesh chart in the year of child's birth — Libra as odd sign means count forward for the 5th house (first child).
  • Source: v47, v50

class-46

All Signs — Odd vs. Even Classification

  • Odd signs (Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius): Count forward in D7 from Lagna for first child's house. If the first child's indicator sign is odd → male child.
  • Even signs (Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces): Count backward in D7 from Lagna for first child's house. If the first child's indicator sign is even → female child.
  • This forward/backward rule based on odd/even Lagna applies to the D7 (Saptamsa) analysis only.
  • Source: v48, v50

Capricorn

  • In annual D10: Capricorn as the 11th house (Labha/gains house) when running as Narayana Dasha = a dasha conducive to career gains.
  • Capricorn in D7: as part of the 5th lord Saturn's position when Saturn is exalted in Libra and owns Capricorn — Putra Sahama in Capricorn = Saturn lords over it = strong for childbirth in Saturn dasha.
  • A3 (initiative/enterprise) in Capricorn = enterprise occurring in a structured, disciplined, Saturnine manner.
  • Source: v48, v50

class-47

Signs — Narayana Dasha Three-Parts Rule Summary

  • Sirshodaya signs (give own results first, then lord, then occupants):
    • Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio — these are head-rising, eager to give their results early.
  • Prishthodaya signs (give occupants' results first, then lord, then own sign's results):
    • Aries, Taurus, Capricorn, Pisces — these are back-rising, hold back their own results until the end.
  • Ubhayodaya sign: Sagittarius is sometimes listed as both (consult the specific tradition).
  • This classification drives the entire Narayana Dasha three-parts analysis for ALL divisional charts.
  • Source: v41, v47, v50

class-48

Aries

  • Vivaha Sahama (marriage sensitive point) can fall in Aries in some annual charts — significance: Mars (as Aries lord) becomes the Vivaha Sahama activator.
  • Aries = 7th house from Libra; if annual Lagna is Libra, Aries is the 7th (partner/marriage house).
  • Source: v48

Scorpio

  • Even sign — count backward in D7 when Scorpio is the Lagna.
  • Scorpio in Navamsa: when natal chart Navamsa Lagna is Scorpio (and Rasi Lagna is Aquarius), the chart has a specific window of birth time rectification.
  • Source: v50

class-50

Signs in D10 (Dasamsa) Context

  • The sign of D10 10th house and its lord indicate the type and quality of career:

    • Moon as 8th lord in moolatrikona in D10's 8th house = deep instability but with moments of profound wisdom and service.
  • D10 Lagna and its sign: determines the basic career orientation and the person's relationship with their professional environment.
  • Moolatrikona house: The planet acts "at their office" — duty-focused, competent, professional. Sagittarius is Jupiter's moolatrikona.

  • Sagittarius Navamsa: Jupiter-Saturn antardasha → marriage with transformation (Mercury = 7th lord in 8th shows marriage with change).
  • Sagittarius 7th house in Saptamsa = odd sign → normally count 11th forward for 1st child. But if Ketu in 7th → reverse → count backward → 1st child from Aquarius.
  • Sagittarius = dual fire sign; energetic, expansive, freedom-loving.

Aquarius

  • Aquarius = 1st child sign (from the Ketu exception counting in the Saptamsa example).
  • Aquarius = fixed air sign; humanitarian, detached, innovative.

class-69

Aries

  • Aries Lagna (chart: 26 May 1923, Nellore): Mars is Lagna lord. Mental stability depends heavily on Mars's strength.

Scorpio (Vimshamsa Lagna)

  • Scorpio Vimshamsa Lagna confirmed for Arun's chart; Scorpio = deep, transformative, occult-oriented sign.

  • Capricorn = movable earth sign; disciplined, hard-working, ambition-driven.

Dry Signs (Infertile Signs — Saptamsa Context)

  • Ketu Khan (sign of Ketu) = "very dry sign, not fruitful, gives results with much difficulty." When Upapada Lagna falls in a dry sign and the 2nd lord from UL is also weak → marriage is difficult to materialize.
  • Fruitful signs (e.g., Cancer, Pisces) = better for Upapada giving a long-lasting marriage.

v1 Batch 8 — Classes 71–80

Signs — Batch 8 (Classes 71–80)

Aries (Mesha)

Class 72:

  • Aries = Pushtodaiya Rashi (first sign). In Narayana Dasha, gives results in last one-third.
  • Exalted Sun in Aries in D4 Dasha Pravesh = highly auspicious ninth lord in fifth house (Purva Punya for home).
  • "Aries is very auspicious" — Sun is fully exalted here, giving Purva Punya strength.

Class 74:

  • Saturn in Aries (debilitated in first navamsa sign context) = highly uncomfortable Saturn; creates explosiveness when Saturn is disposited in Aries and influenced by Mars and Rahu.
  • A7 (Arudha of seventh from marriage house) in Aries in case of spouse: the person is fiery, potentially aggressive, and when energy explodes, very destructive.

Class 76:

  • Aries as the first sign of natural zodiac = the head. Eighth lord in Aries = head/brain problems.

Taurus (Vrishabha)

Class 72:

  • Taurus = Pushtodaiya Rashi. In Narayana Dasha, gives results in last one-third.
  • Taurus as Capricorn Dasha's excellent Antardasha in Dasha Pravesh (Sun, lagna lord in Taurus) = very auspicious Antardasha for property events.

Class 76:

  • Taurus = face in natural zodiac. Eighth lord in Taurus = face/eye related problems.

Gemini (Mithuna)

Class 72:

  • Gemini as Shishva (Dvisvabhava) Rashi: results in first one-third of Narayana Dasha.
  • Gemini as Antardasha identified as best candidate for Manoj's house purchase: Mercury in own house in Dasha Pravesh D4, Nripati Raja Yoga (Saturn+Mars+Ketu in third house), exalted Sun in fifth. "Very strong candidate."
  • Gemini in D2 Narayana Dasha (second house of resources): first one-third = resources and gains; UL present = potential losses/investments; third one-third = excellent (Mercury's results).

Class 73-74:

  • Gemini as Navamsa lagna of divorced woman: "She belongs to Visakha Trivarga. Her rising point, Lagna, is in Visakha Trivarga."

Cancer (Karka)

Class 72:

  • Cancer = Pushtodaiya Rashi. Narayana Dasha results in last one-third.
  • Cancer in Narayana Dasha of D2: spending/investment in real estate (twelfth lord of expenditure in fourth house of home = Parivartana). Showing as expenditure even when person won a prize, because Cancer = twelfth house of expenditure.

Class 73:

  • Cancer as Navamsa lagna confirmed through rectification in v74: Sagittarius = seventh house (marriage), Capricorn = eighth (divorce) confirm Cancer/Scorpio Navamsa lagna issue.

Class 74:

  • Cancer as second marriage house in Navamsa (eighth from Sagittarius = first marriage house): "Lagna of the second marriage, Lagna of the second spouse." For second marriage analysis, treat Cancer as the new lagna.
  • Cancer Navamsa Dasha = education period (Moon's results, middle one-third, gave BSc enrollment).

Class 77:

  • Cancer = starting Navamsa for water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces — their first navamsa starts from Cancer). In Katapayadi: "Vijaya → Cancer," "Rama → Cancer."

Leo (Simha)

Class 73:

  • Leo as royal, kingly sign. Ketu in Leo = Raja Ganapati association. "Leo is associated with royalty."
  • Leo/Simha in context of Gandanta: Cancer-Leo (Ashlesha-Magha) = one of the three Gandanta junctions (less severe than Scorpio-Sagittarius).

Class 74:

  • Leo Lagna candidate vs. Virgo Lagna: Leo makes Sagittarius = fifth house of blessings for education (more appropriate for education fortune than Virgo's Sagittarius = fourth house).
  • Venus Dasha giving engineering education: more consistent with Leo Lagna (Jupiter as fifth lord's drishti on ninth).

Class 77:

  • Leo = starting Navamsa for fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius — their Navamsas start from Aries but Leo itself is mapped in the cycle). In Katapayadi: "Seshu → Leo," "Manoj → Leo."

Virgo (Kanya)

Class 74:

  • Virgo as alternate lagna candidate for case study; ultimately Leo confirmed as more consistent.
  • Virgo Antardasha during Capricorn D4 Narayana Dasha = when person moved into house (Mercury in own sign with Yogakaraka Mars in Seshu's chart).

Class 77:

  • Virgo = Shishva (Mutable) Rashi; results in first one-third of Narayana Dasha.

Libra (Tula)

Class 73-74:

  • Libra Lagna as alternate candidate for Sarita's chart — rejected because Sagittarius wouldn't cleanly be seventh house (it would be third), making the marriage dasha inconsistent.
  • Libra Lagna people: "Very balanced, very diplomatic. Nice. They are on their best behavior... Good at PR, good at relationships and maintaining relationships with people."

Scorpio (Vrischika)

Class 73:

  • Scorpio-Sagittarius Gandanta: Most critical and dangerous junction. Last navamsa of Scorpio and first navamsa of Sagittarius form the most severe Gandanta zone. "Scorpio is water (fixed, stagnant), Sagittarius is fire. When water meets fire it creates explosive steam."
  • Scorpio Lagna: "You never fully understand that person. There is something about that person that is hidden away from you. They are not what they come across as being."

Class 74:

  • Scorpio as confirmed Navamsa lagna for Sarita: Sagittarius = seventh (marriage), Capricorn = eighth (divorce). "We are happy with Cancer [meaning Scorpio Navamsa lagna]."
  • Scorpio Dasha in Navamsa: Mars and Ketu are its lords (Ketu in Purva Rashi = last one-third). "Is Scorpio capable of giving marriage? Fourth house — not really obvious sign for marriage."

Class 76:

  • Taurus-Scorpio axis: "Lagna lord and seventh lord are in Scorpio. How is the Scorpio lord? He's in Lagna, taking part in so many yogas. So Taurus and Scorpio Dashas are good for him."

Class 80:

  • Scorpio = stagnant fixed water. "Like a gutter, like a swamp. It does not flow. It accumulates and stagnates." Diseases related to Scorpio afflictions are diseases of stagnation, toxic accumulation, sewage exposure, waterborne pathogens.

Sagittarius (Dhanus)

Class 73:

  • Scorpio-Sagittarius Gandanta: Sagittarius = fire sign. The Moola nakshatra (Sagittarius) is the most dangerous first navamsa.
  • Scorpio-Sagittarius junction: destructive transformation through water-fire conflict.

Class 74:

  • Sagittarius as first marriage house in Navamsa: seventh house from Scorpio lagna. Narayana Dasha of Sagittarius = marriage period (Pushtodaiya Rashi, last one-third = Aug 1996 to Apr 1999 = when marriage occurred).
  • Sagittarius as Antardasha within Capricorn Dasha: twelfth house from Capricorn. "From Capricorn, Sagittarius is twelfth house. And Jupiter (lord of Sagittarius) is in the eighth house." = Confirms divorce period.
  • Education case: Sagittarius (fourth house from Virgo Lagna or fifth house from Leo Lagna) as Narayana Dasha during bachelor's education.

Class 76:

  • Sagittarius in D2 Narayana Dasha: results interpretation based on its position and lord.

Capricorn (Makara)

Class 72:

  • Capricorn Narayana Dasha of D4: The active dasha in Manoj's case for home acquisition. Three-parts analysis reveals Gemini Antardasha as best candidate.

Class 74:

  • Capricorn Navamsa Dasha = eighth house from Scorpio lagna = Marana Sthana from first marriage house (Sagittarius). Pushtodaiya Rashi → last one-third (Aug 2004 to Apr 2007) = divorce period.
  • Capricorn/Shani signs: Saturn's signs (Capricorn and Aquarius) are linked to Vishnu worship (second lord from UL).

Class 77:

  • Capricorn = starting Navamsa for earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn — their Navamsas start from Capricorn).

Aquarius (Kumbha)

Class 74:

  • Aquarius as next Narayana Dasha after Capricorn in Navamsa: ninth house with Arudha Lagna + aspects second house (Cancer, second marriage house) = stronger candidate for second marriage than Capricorn.
  • "Aquarius has a stronger chance to give the second marriage than Capricorn because it has drishti on the second, on this particular sign."
  • Aquarius lord in eleventh house + Venus aspecting Aquarius = favorable for second marriage.

Class 77:

  • Aquarius in Katapayadi: "Prasad → Aquarius." Aquarius as the Navamsa characteristic sign for someone with a particular name calculation.

Pisces (Meena)

Class 72:

  • Saturn in Pisces: When Saturn is in Pisces and giving results as a dominant planet in Narayana Dasha, Kali worship is appropriate (Kali for the combined Saturn-in-watery-sign dynamic).

Class 73:

  • Pisces-Aries Gandanta: Revati-Ashwini junction. Third Gandanta point (least severe of the three).

General Sign Categories (Classes 72-74):

Pushtodaiya/Pushkara Rashis (give results in last one-third of Narayana Dasha): Aries, Taurus, Cancer, Sagittarius, Capricorn (signs 1, 2, 4, 9, 10).

Chara (Cardinal) Rashis: Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn — give their own results in last one-third of dasha period.

Sthira (Fixed) Rashis: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius — give their own results in middle one-third.

Dvisvabhava/Shishva (Mutable) Rashis: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces — give their own results in first one-third.

Trikshodaya Rashis (mentioned in context of Cancer): Give results in last one-third; Moon (lord of Cancer) being in Trikshodaya Rashi (Scorpio) gives results in the beginning of the lord's one-third sub-period.

Elemental groupings for Navamsa starting points (Class 78):

  • Fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius): Navamsas start from Aries.
  • Earth (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn): Navamsas start from Capricorn.
  • Air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius): Navamsas start from Libra.
  • Water (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces): Navamsas start from Cancer.

v1 Batch 9 — Classes 81–90

Signs — Batch 9 (classes 81–90)

class-90 | Water Signs (Jala Rashi) — Gandanta Exit Points

Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces are the three water signs. Each ends at a Gandanta boundary:

  • Cancer (0°00'–30°00') → Leo: Ashlesha-Magha Gandanta
  • Scorpio (0°00'–30°00') → Sagittarius: Jyeshtha-Mula Gandanta (most severe)
  • Pisces (0°00'–30°00') → Aries: Revati-Ashwini Gandanta

D30 implication: Planets in water signs in D30 show weakness in mental clarity. Water sign Moon in D30 = turbulent, unclear thinking.

class-90 | Fire Signs (Agni Rashi) — Gandanta Entry Points

Aries, Leo, Sagittarius are the three fire signs. Each begins at a Gandanta boundary:

  • Aries (0°00' – first ~1°) → receives from Pisces: Revati-Ashwini Gandanta
  • Leo (0°00' – first ~1°) → receives from Cancer: Ashlesha-Magha Gandanta
  • Sagittarius (0°00' – first ~3.5°) → receives from Scorpio: Jyeshtha-Mula Gandanta (8-ghatika zone)

class-90 | Cancer — Gandanta Note

Cancer is a Jala (water) rashi, and its last degrees (Ashlesha nakshatra's final ghatikas) constitute a Gandanta. If Lagna is within 1 ghatika (~3 degrees) of the Cancer-Leo border, Lagna Gandanta applies.

Cancer in Argala (class-81): Cancer was identified as one of the important signs for GWB's Narayana Dasha — Cancer Dasha coincided with election victory.

class-84 | Cancer — Auspicious Muhurta Position (2006)

Context: In approximately July 2006, Venus, Mercury, and Saturn were all in Cancer. This was identified as extremely auspicious for any Tula (Libra) Lagna Muhurta because:

  • For Tula Lagna: Venus = Lagna lord, Mercury = 9th lord, Saturn = Yogakaraka (4th/5th lord).
  • All three trine lords + Yogakaraka in Cancer = the 10th house from Tula Lagna.
  • "All the trine lords along with the Yogakaraka Saturn will be sitting in the tenth house."

Cancer's nature: "Cancer is a very fruitful sign, a very auspicious sign. It's a sign of creation, of Brahma."

class-84 | Libra (Tula) — Excellent Muhurta Lagna (2006)

For approximately July 2006 (before Mercury moved out ~8 days after the class):

  • Jupiter in Libra (in the Lagna itself) = excellent protection and wisdom.
  • Venus + Mercury + Saturn in Cancer (10th house for Tula Lagna) = all trine lords in 10th = powerful Raja Yoga for accomplishment.
  • Rahu in 6th house = obstructs enemies, subdues obstacles.

Navamsa Lagna possibility: At a specific time (~12:30-12:40 PM South Grafton), Libra Lagna with Jupiter at ~18 degrees, and Navamsa Lagna would also be in Pisces with Jupiter there.

class-88 | Scorpio — Disease in Divisional Charts

Scorpio in D30:

  • Moon-Saturn combination in Scorpio in D30 = severe mental faculty depletion.
  • Kali worship specifically appropriate when Moon-Saturn = Scorpio combination.

Scorpio as Maraka context: From Sagittarius Lagna (L4 = Sagittarius example): 2nd house = Capricorn, not Scorpio. But from the specific chart analyzed, the Moon-Saturn-Rahu-Ketu cluster in Scorpio-axis (Cancer-Capricorn) was discussed.

class-88 | Pisces (Meena) — Lagna Examples

Pisces Lagna (Meena) references in this batch:

  • Venus = 8th lord; diamond (Venus's gem) can be either bad (for material/marriage goals) or good (for spiritual goals depending on 8th house nature).
  • Example: Pisces lagna girl given ruby (6th lord Sun) and diamond (8th lord Venus) = engagement broke.
  • Example: Pisces lagna spiritual aspirant given diamond ring → went on spiritual path (positive use of 8th lord gem).
  • For Pisces lagna Muhurta analysis (book-writing muhurta): with Jupiter in Lagna and Mercury in 10th, auspicious for writing/publication.

class-81 | Navamsa Signs in Argala Analysis

Example chart (marriage Navamsa):

  • Leo: Rahu in Leo with Jupiter, Mars, Moon, Saturn forming second-house Argala on Cancer (9th house). Rahu in Leo is nirbala in company of so many strong planets.
  • Gemini: Ketu in Gemini forming Argala on Sagittarius (7th house of Navamsa).
  • Taurus: Aquarius Antardasha (Narayana Dasha of Navamsa) contained Venus who had Argala on Lagna → gave marriage.
  • Aquarius: Venus in Aquarius forming Argala on Lagna in Navamsa.

class-87 | Trimsamsha (D30) — Sign Tattwa Classification

Sign Tattwa (Element) Effect in D30
Aries, Leo, Sagittarius Agni (Fire) Active, clear results
Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn Prithvi (Earth) Material, grounded
Gemini, Libra, Aquarius Vayu (Air) Communicative
Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces Jala (Water) Weakness in mental clarity

Key teaching: Planets in Jala (water) rashis in D30 show weakness in cognitive/mental clarity. Particularly damaging for Moon in D30 when placed in Jala rashi.

class-90 | Sign-Based Gandanta (Lagna Gandanta) Summary

Boundary Signs Duration
Pisces-Aries Water → Fire 1 ghatika each side (~3°)
Cancer-Leo Water → Fire 1 ghatika each side (~3°)
Scorpio-Sagittarius Water → Fire 1 ghatika each side (~3°)

Note: Only the 3 water-to-fire boundaries create Lagna Gandanta. Fire-to-earth, earth-to-air, air-to-water transitions do not have Lagna Gandanta.

class-83 | Sagittarius — L4 Reference

Sagittarius as L4 (Arudha of 4th lord in the analyzed chart):

  • When L4 = Sagittarius, analyze mother's chart from Sagittarius as the reference lagna.
  • From Sagittarius: 3rd house = Aquarius (where Saturn and Ketu were placed) = vitality threat.
  • Saturn transiting in Cancer at that time = transiting the 8th house from L4 = very unfavorable for mother.
  • From Sagittarius: Mercury as 7th lord in 7th house (Gemini) = strong Maraka for mother in Mercury Antardasha.

Mobile/Moveable Sign in 4th House

Source: class-04 If the 4th house is a moveable (cardinal) sign AND Mars is in the 12th AND 4th lord is in the 6th → speech impediment. The moveable sign's instability combines with Mars's impulsiveness and 4th lord's weakened position to create communication problems.

Saturn/Venus Sign for 7th Lord

Source: class-10 If the 7th lord is placed in a sign owned by Saturn (Capricorn, Aquarius) or Venus (Taurus, Libra), and is aspected by functional benefics and is exalted → many wives (auspiciously). The Saturn/Venus sign gives depth/staying-power to the multiple-marriage situation.

Female Sign vs. Male Sign for Siblings

Source: class-02 Female signs (Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces) associated with the 3rd lord or Mars → predominantly sisters. Male signs (Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius) → predominantly brothers.

  • 2-12 relationship: mildly problematic
  • 3-11 relationship: moderate; Upachaya (improving over time)

v2 Batch 3 — Classes 21–30

Signs — Batch 3 (v21–v30)

Note: Classes 21–30 focused primarily on BPHS house-lord-in-houses analysis and specific chart examples. Sign-specific teaching is largely incidental. The entries below capture sign references with their teaching context.

Aries (Mesha) — Movable, Fire

  • Badhakasthana: 11th (Aquarius)
  • Mentioned in: General Badhaka rules
  • Notes from class context: Movable sign rules apply; 11th house = Badhakasthana for Aries Lagna

Taurus (Vrishabha) — Fixed, Earth

  • Badhakasthana: 9th (Capricorn)
  • Mentioned in: General rules; Taurus Rashi of Visakhapatnam native (class-26)
  • Notes: Taurus as Moon's sign; Krittika 4th pada in Taurus = Sun-ruled nakshatra in Venus-ruled sign

Gemini (Mithuna) — Dual, Air

  • Badhakasthana: 7th (Sagittarius)
  • Mentioned in: class-25 (autism child: Moon at 0°49' Gemini; Rahu at 1°10' Gemini); class-30 (Sandhya's work person: Gemini Lagna)
  • Notes:
    • Moon and Rahu both in Gemini = severe affliction of Moon
    • For Gemini Lagna, Badhakasthana = 7th (Sagittarius); Badhakesha = Jupiter
    • Dual (Dvishwabhava) sign: contains Gandanta at junction with Taurus (end of Gemini)/Cancer (Ashlesha)
    • CA exam chart (class-29): Gemini = AL + A5 placement in Narayana Dasha = exam success period

Cancer (Karka) — Movable, Water

  • Badhakasthana: 11th (Taurus)
  • Mentioned in: class-25 (autism child: Cancer Lagna ~4°); class-26 (Visakhapatnam native: Cancer Lagna); class-27 (Cancer Dasha in Dhruva = guru arrival)
  • Notes:
    • Cancer Lagna: Moon = Lagna lord; Mars = Yogakaraka (rules 5th Scorpio + 10th Aries — wait: Mars rules Aries and Scorpio; 10th from Cancer = Aries, 5th from Cancer = Scorpio → YES, Mars rules both 5th and 10th = Yogakaraka)
    • Badhakesha for Cancer Lagna = Venus (11th lord = Taurus lord)
    • Cancer Dasha in Dhruva = nurturing spiritual wisdom arriving; guru as "mother" figure
    • Moon's exaltation sign is Taurus (= Badhakasthana for Cancer) — paradox of exaltation in obstruction house
    • Moonrashi: Moon in Cancer = emotional depth, strong home attachment

Leo (Simha) — Fixed, Fire

  • Badhakasthana: 9th (Aries)
  • Mentioned in: class-22 (Abhijit: Simha Rashi); class-23 (Rajesh's son: Leo Lagna); class-26 (Visakhapatnam native annual chart: several planets in Leo)
  • Notes:
    • Leo Lagna + Graha Malika Yoga (class-23): planets in 9th-12th from Leo = fortune/career/gains/liberation chain
    • Leo is Simha Rashi for Abhijit (Moon in Leo)
    • For Leo Lagna, BPHS Ch. 23 gives special rule: Moon as 12th lord in 5/9/11 in exaltation = divine pleasures
    • Magha nakshatra (0°-13°20' Leo) = Gandanta zone at the beginning
    • Surya amsa = Leo navamsa; planets in Leo navamsa = Surya amsa

Virgo (Kanya) — Dual, Earth

  • Badhakasthana: 7th (Pisces)
  • Mentioned in: class-22 (Vijay Kumar: Virgo Lagna ~18°36'); class-26 (Mercury in Virgo = Badhaka for Pisces Lagna in Badhakasthana)
  • Notes:
    • Virgo Lagna: Mercury = Lagna lord; Mercury in Virgo = exalted + Badhakesha for Pisces Lagna opposite
    • Dual sign; Badhakasthana = 7th (Pisces)
    • Mercury's Badhakasthana for Pisces: because Pisces is dual, Badhaka = 7th = Virgo; Mercury (lord of Virgo) = Badhakesha

Libra (Tula) — Movable, Air

  • Badhakasthana: 11th (Leo)
  • Mentioned in: class-24 (asthma child: Libra Lagna ~27°); class-27 (Courtney: Libra Dasha 2015-2022 = mystical experiences in Dhruva Dasha)
  • Notes:
    • Libra Lagna: Venus = Lagna lord; Saturn = Yogakaraka (rules 4th Capricorn + 5th Aquarius)
    • Badhakesha for Libra = Sun (11th lord = Leo lord)
    • Libra Dasha in Dhruva (class-27): mystical experiences, altered states, deep spiritual immersion (2015-2022)
    • Asthma child: Lagna at ~27° Libra (close to Libra-Scorpio junction but not Gandanta)

Scorpio (Vrischika) — Fixed, Water

  • Badhakasthana: 9th (Cancer)
  • Mentioned in: class-27 (Courtney: possibly Scorpio Lagna after rectification)
  • Notes:
    • Fixed sign; Badhakasthana = 9th (Cancer)
    • Jyeshtha nakshatra (last nakshatra in Scorpio before Sagittarius) = Gandanta at end of Scorpio
    • Scorpio = 5th from Cancer; Mars rules Scorpio; Ketu's natural sign

Sagittarius (Dhanu) — Dual, Fire

  • Badhakasthana: 7th (Gemini)
  • Mentioned in: class-24 (Mars at 2° Sagittarius = Moola Gandanta); class-26 (Sethu: Sagittarius Lagna with Saturn+Jupiter in Capricorn); class-27 (Courtney: Sagittarius Lagna)
  • Notes:
    • Sagittarius Lagna: Jupiter = Lagna lord; for Sethu, Jupiter+Saturn in Capricorn (2nd house)
    • Moola nakshatra begins at 0° Sagittarius = Gandanta zone (junction with end of Scorpio/Jyeshtha)
    • Mars in Moola (class-24): chronic health issues, nerve problems, breathing issues
    • Dual sign; Badhakasthana = 7th (Gemini); Badhakesha = Mercury
    • Courtney: Sagittarius Lagna (or rectified to Scorpio); Jupiter Dasha running = expansion, wisdom

Capricorn (Makara) — Movable, Earth

  • Badhakasthana: 11th (Scorpio)
  • Mentioned in: class-26 (Sethu: Saturn+Jupiter in Capricorn/2nd house for Sagittarius Lagna)
  • Notes:
    • Saturn's own sign = Saturn is very strong in Capricorn
    • Jupiter debilitated in Capricorn = weakened benefic
    • When Saturn and Jupiter both in Capricorn: Saturn dominates
    • Movable sign; Badhakasthana = 11th (Scorpio)

Aquarius (Kumbha) — Fixed, Air

  • Badhakasthana: 9th (Libra)
  • Mentioned in: class-23 (Vijay Kumar's father: Aquarius Shola Dasha = dangerous period)
  • Notes:
    • Aquarius in Shola Dasha for longevity analysis: Aquarius has 3rd lord from Lagna + aspected by Sun-Rahu from 3rd from AL = dangerous period for longevity
    • Fixed sign; Badhakasthana = 9th (Libra)
    • Saturn and Rahu's natural sign associations with Aquarius

Pisces (Meena) — Dual, Water

  • Badhakasthana: 7th (Virgo)
  • Mentioned in: class-22 (Abhijit: Pisces Lagna); class-24 (BPHS Ch. 23: Moon as 12th lord of Leo in 5/9/11 = divine pleasures — this is a Leo Lagna specific rule, not Pisces, but mentioned); class-26 (Badhakesha for Pisces Lagna = Mercury/Virgo)
  • Notes:
    • Pisces Lagna: Jupiter = Lagna lord; Badhakesha = Mercury (7th lord for dual sign = Virgo = Mercury)
    • Abhijit (Pisces Lagna): Sun as 6th lord + Badhakesha; Mercury as Badhakesha in Badhakasthana (Virgo)
    • Revati nakshatra (last nakshatra, 16°40'-30° Pisces) = Gandanta at end of Pisces/beginning of Aries
    • Dual sign; contains deepest spiritual significances (12th natural house, Jupiter's sign)

v2 Batch 4 — Classes 31–40

Signs — Batch 4 (classes 31–40)

Sign 31.1 — Fixed Signs (Sthira Rasis): Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius

  • Source: class-34
  • Classification: Sthira (fixed, immovable)
  • Key teaching this batch: Fixed signs as Muhurta Lagna for mantra initiation (diksha) and Upanayana.
  • Quality: Persistent, stubborn, sustained. Actions begun with a fixed sign rising have staying power. "Like a bull — just keep doing."
  • Application: When choosing Muhurta for mantra diksha or Upanayana (sacred thread ceremony), a fixed Lagna ensures the person will continue the practice through difficulties and throughout life.
  • Contrast with chara (mobile) signs: Chara signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) at Muhurta Lagna give initial energy that fades. Fixed signs give slow start but enduring commitment.
  • Signs:
    • Taurus (Vrishabha) — Venus-ruled; earth, fixed; sustaining comfort
    • Leo (Simha) — Sun-ruled; fire, fixed; sustaining authority
    • Scorpio (Vrischika) — Mars-ruled; water, fixed; sustaining transformation
    • Aquarius (Kumbha) — Saturn-ruled; air, fixed; sustaining service/discipline

Sign 31.2 — Mobile Signs (Chara Rasis): Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn

  • Source: class-34
  • Classification: Chara (movable, cardinal)
  • Key teaching this batch: Mobile signs as Muhurta Lagna give quick initiation energy that does not persist.
  • Quality: Dynamic, initiating, fast-moving. Good for short-term events (travel, quick ceremonies). Not ideal for mantra diksha or long-term commitments.
  • Contrast: The opposite of the fixed sign sustained practice.
  • Signs:
    • Aries (Mesha) — Mars-ruled; fire, cardinal; initiating, impulsive
    • Cancer (Karka) — Moon-ruled; water, cardinal; initiating emotional energy
    • Libra (Tula) — Venus-ruled; air, cardinal; initiating partnerships
    • Capricorn (Makara) — Saturn-ruled; earth, cardinal; initiating practical work

Sign 31.3 — Dual Signs (Dvisvabhava Rasis): Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces

  • Source: class-34
  • Classification: Dvisvabhava (dual/mutable)
  • Key teaching this batch: Dual signs at Muhurta Lagna give moderate staying power — neither as persistent as fixed nor as fleeting as mobile.
  • Quality: Adaptable, transitional, changeable. "In-between."
  • Signs:
    • Gemini (Mithuna) — Mercury-ruled; air, mutable; adaptable communication
    • Virgo (Kanya) — Mercury-ruled; earth, mutable; adaptable service
    • Sagittarius (Dhanu) — Jupiter-ruled; fire, mutable; adaptable dharma
    • Pisces (Meena) — Jupiter-ruled; water, mutable; adaptable spirituality
  • Mundane connection: Iran 2009 Lunar New Year chart had Virgo rising at 29°11' — a mutable sign at late degrees, compounding instability.

Sign 31.4 — Scorpio (Vrischika): Deep Gandanta and National Crisis

  • Source: class-40
  • Teaching: North Korea's 2009 Lunar New Year chart had Lagna at 29°31' Scorpio — the deepest Gandanta zone in the zodiac (junction of Scorpio/water and Sagittarius/fire).
  • Scorpio at late degrees: The sign Scorpio at its extreme end (29°+) is at the most unstable point in the zodiac. The transition from Scorpio (fixed water) to Sagittarius (mutable fire) is one of the three major Gandanta zones (along with Pisces→Aries and Cancer→Leo).
  • Effect: For a Lunar New Year chart, Lagna at 29°31' Scorpio = deep instability and existential crisis for the nation. "This indicates terrible instability for the country that year... possible ruler's death or major calamity."
  • Historical note (2009): Kim Jong-il suffered a suspected severe stroke in 2008–2009; North Korea conducted its second nuclear test in May 2009.

Sign 31.5 — Virgo (Kanya) at Late Degrees: Instability for Iran and Iraq

  • Source: class-40
  • Teaching: Both Iran (29°11') and Iraq (~23° Virgo) had Virgo rising in the 2009 Lunar New Year chart, with Iran being at a very late degree approaching the Virgo–Libra cusp.
  • Virgo's general quality: Mercury-ruled, earth, dual/mutable sign. Analytical, service-oriented, health-conscious.
  • Late Virgo (approaching Gandanta region): The very end of Virgo is near the Virgo–Libra boundary (not a Gandanta junction, but late degrees indicate unstable transitions within the sign's energy). Iran at 29°11' is approaching the sign boundary, indicating a year of transition and uncertainty.
  • Satabdi Dasha trigger (Iran): Mercury (Virgo's lord) is in the 7th house (Pisces) debilitated = Satabdi Dasha applies. Mercury debilitated weakens analytical governance and diplomacy for Iran.
  • Iraq (~23° Virgo): More stable than Iran's late-degree Lagna, but still shows weak governance (10H factors challenging).

Sign 31.6 — Gemini (Mithuna): US 2009 Lunar New Year Lagna

  • Source: class-40
  • Teaching: The US 2009 Lunar New Year chart (Washington DC) had Gemini rising.
  • Gemini's quality: Mercury-ruled, air, dual/mutable sign. Communication, media, trade, adaptability, multiplicity.
  • Implications for US 2009:
    • Gemini Lagna = the nation's "face" to the world is Mercury-ruled: communication-driven, adaptable, but potentially dual-natured (saying one thing/doing another, or holding contradictory positions).
    • Mercury (Lagna lord) conjunct Sun and Moon (Amavasya) in 10H = government communication and decision-making severely afflicted.
    • The "dual" nature of Gemini reflected in US 2009: simultaneously experiencing an economic crisis and a political transition (Obama inaugurated January 2009).
  • Isha-3 Dasha trigger: Multiple planets in kendras from Moon in this chart → Isha-3 Dasha system used.

Sign 31.7 — Aries (Mesha): Debilitation Sign for Saturn

  • Source: class-34
  • Teaching: Saturn is debilitated in Aries (Mesha). PVR's personal chart has Saturn in Aries as the 5L with Neechabhanga.
  • Why debilitated: Saturn (slow, cold, disciplined, Saturnian energy) is completely uncomfortable in Aries (fast, fiery, impulsive, Martian energy). The planets rule opposing natures — the disciplinarian is placed in the house of the warrior.
  • Neechabhanga effect: Despite debilitation, if conditions for Neechabhanga are met (e.g., Mars in a kendra, or the sign where Saturn would be exalted [Libra] has its lord Venus in a kendra), Saturn can give Raja Yoga results during its Dasha.
  • PVR's result: Saturn Dasha delivered major academic achievements despite Saturn's debilitation. The debilitation was fully cancelled, and the 5L (intelligence/academia) gave its maximum results.

Sign 31.8 — Pisces (Meena): 7th from VE7 and Debilitation of Mercury

  • Source: class-39, class-40
  • Dual role in batch:
    1. Marriage timing (class-39): In the Lawrence MA woman's chart, VE7 was in Virgo at ~10°. The 7th from VE7 = Pisces. Jupiter is the lord of Pisces. Marriage happened during Mercury Dasha / Saturn Antardasha — both lords connecting to Pisces (Jupiter in some aspect/dispositorship chain to Mercury and Saturn).
    2. Iran 2009 (class-40): Mercury (Iran's Lagna lord from Virgo) is debilitated in Pisces in the 7th house. This triggers Satabdi Dasha and indicates weakened national intelligence, problematic foreign relations (7H = foreign affairs with debilitated Lagna lord there), and poor diplomatic capacity.
  • Pisces quality: Jupiter-ruled, water, dual/mutable sign. Spiritual, dreamy, expansive, lacking boundaries. Debilitated Mercury in Pisces = practical, analytical Mercury unable to function clearly in boundless Pisces energy.

Sign 31.9 — Libra (Tula): India 2009 Lunar New Year Lagna

  • Source: class-40
  • Teaching: India's 2009 Lunar New Year chart (New Delhi) had Libra rising at 22°44'.
  • Libra's quality: Venus-ruled, air, cardinal/mobile sign. Balance, justice, partnerships, commerce, elegance.
  • India 2009 interpretation:
    • Mars = hora lord (despite Libra Lagna, which Venus rules — the hora is independently determined by the time of Shukla Pratipada)
    • Mars as hora lord for a Venus-Lagna country = underlying combative/military energy beneath the surface of diplomatic-appearing Libra governance
    • PVR predicted: hung parliament, NDA/UPA coalition reshuffling, aggressive electoral competition
    • Actual result 2009: UPA won but required coalition partners; NDA lost but performed better than expected; aggressive multi-party dynamics

Sign 31.10 — Gandanta Zones: Water-Fire Sign Junctions

  • Source: class-40
  • Teaching: Gandanta literally means "knot in the trunk/neck" — a zone of instability and dissolution. The three Gandanta zones are at the junction of water signs and fire signs:
    1. Pisces–Aries junction (end of Pisces to start of Aries)
    2. Cancer–Leo junction (end of Cancer to start of Leo)
    3. Scorpio–Sagittarius junction (end of Scorpio to start of Sagittarius)
  • The most volatile zone: The last 3°20' of a water sign and the first 3°20' of the following fire sign are the deep Gandanta zone.
  • Effect in mundane charts: Lagna at Gandanta in a Lunar New Year chart = major national instability, identity crisis, or leadership collapse for that country during the year.
  • Examples from class-40:
    • North Korea at 29°31' Scorpio = deepest Gandanta possible → predicted national calamity (Kim Jong-il health crisis + nuclear test)
    • Iran at 29°11' Virgo = approaching sign boundary (not a Gandanta but late-degree instability)

v2 Batch 5 — Classes 41–50

Signs — Batch 5 (v2 Classes 41–50)

Classes 41–50 did not teach sign-specific content as primary material (the focus was BPHS Chapter 24 house lord rules, divisional chart analysis, and practical chart readings). Sign references appeared incidentally in chart analyses. Key sign-related points from these classes are captured here.

Signs Referenced in Context

Aries (Mesha) — Fire, Movable, Mars-Ruled

Source: v41 (Mesha Sankranti as the Lunar New Year moment) Notes: Mesha Sankranti (Sun entering Aries) marks the Lunar New Year in the Vedic system — the annual "rebirth" of the solar year. The mundane charts analyzed in v41 are all cast for the Mesha Sankranti moment. Aries as lagna in mundane charts: aggressive, bold, pioneering national character for that year. The Gandanta zone at the very beginning of Aries (0°–3°20') is one of the three Gandanta zones — especially sensitive.

Cancer (Karka) — Water, Movable, Moon-Ruled

Source: v49, v50 Notes: Cancer lagna in D24 for the boy's education chart (v49, v50). Cancer lagna makes Mars the Yogakaraka (rules 5th Scorpio and 10th Aries) — Mars's role in education chart shows technical/engineering/military aptitude. In D24, Cancer lagna = nurturing approach to learning; Moon-ruled = emotional connection to knowledge. The 4th house (Cancer = 4th natural sign) connection reinforces D24's role in foundational learning.

Scorpio (Vrischika) — Water, Fixed, Mars/Ketu-Ruled

Source: v47 (Srini Nita's D24 debate — Libra vs. Scorpio lagna) Notes: The debate over whether Srini Nita's D24 lagna was Libra or Scorpio was significant. The difference: Libra lagna would make Venus the lagna lord (artistic, balanced approach to education); Scorpio lagna would make Mars/Ketu the lagna lord (intense, research-oriented, obstacle-heavy approach to education). PVR resolved the debate by checking which lagna better matched the native's actual educational experiences — the Scorpio interpretation aligned better with the obstacles and intensity she experienced.

Trikona Signs (Dharma Trikona): Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

Source: v41–v50 (general framework) Notes: Fire signs forming the Dharma Trikona: Aries (1st sign — action/pioneering dharma), Leo (5th sign — creative/royal dharma), Sagittarius (9th sign — philosophical/religious dharma). The Gandanta zones are ALL at the beginnings of these fire signs — suggesting that dharma has a "critical entry point" where vulnerability is highest before the fire sign's strength fully activates.

Water Signs at Gandanta Junctions: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

Source: v41 Notes: The ends of the three water signs (Cancer 27°–30°, Scorpio 27°–30°, Pisces 27°–30°) form the other half of the Gandanta zones (paired with the beginning of the fire signs above). The water sign endings represent the exhaustion of emotional/moksha energy before the next fire sign's rebirth can happen — the most vulnerable transition in the zodiac.

Sign-Based Lagna Functional Malefic Summary

Source: v45–v50 (derived from house lord rules)

For each lagna, the lords of 3rd, 6th, and 11th houses are functional malefics:

Lagna 3rd Lord 6th Lord 11th Lord
Aries Mercury Mercury (Virgo) Saturn
Taurus Moon Venus (Libra) Jupiter
Gemini Sun Mars (Scorpio) Mars (Aries)
Cancer Mercury Jupiter (Sagittarius) Venus
Leo Venus Saturn (Capricorn) Mercury
Virgo Mars Saturn (Aquarius) Moon
Libra Jupiter Jupiter (Pisces) Sun
Scorpio Saturn Mars (Aries) Mercury
Sagittarius Saturn Venus (Taurus) Venus
Capricorn Jupiter Mercury (Gemini) Mars
Aquarius Mars Moon (Cancer) Jupiter
Pisces Venus Sun (Leo) Saturn

Note: Dual lordship (planet owning two houses) means the planet's net effect must be weighed across both lordships. A planet owning both a benefic and a malefic house is "mixed."

Note: Comprehensive sign-by-sign teaching (natural characteristics, exaltation/debilitation points, body parts, elements, qualities, seasonal associations) was not the primary focus of classes 41–50. Deeper sign content will be captured in batches covering dedicated sign analysis classes.

v2 Batch 6 — Classes 51–60

Signs — Batch 6 (classes 51–60)

This file is a master sheet of sign-related rules and significations taught or referenced in classes 51–60.

Aries (Mesha)

  • Type: Movable (Chara); Fire; Male
  • Lord: Mars
  • Key rules from batch 6:
    • Aries as first nakshatra group sign contains Ashwini (Ketu dasha), Bharani (Venus dasha), Krittika 1st pada (Sun dasha) — nakshatra-dasha distinction discussed in class-51
    • In Muhurta context (referenced from batch 4): Aries as Chara (movable) lagna gives quick start but less sustained energy than fixed lagnas

Taurus (Vrishabha)

  • Type: Fixed (Sthira); Earth; Female
  • Lord: Venus
  • Key rules from batch 6:
    • Fixed lagna for Muhurta (Taurus specifically): person becomes "like a bull — just keep doing" — sustained energy for mantra practice (referenced from batch 4, confirmed in class-52 context)
    • Rahu's exaltation in Taurus (per some traditions) mentioned in arudha computation context

Gemini (Mithuna)

  • Type: Dual (Dvisva); Air; Male
  • Lord: Mercury
  • Key rules from batch 6:
    • Gemini in UL or its 7th → multiple marriages (dual sign = duality in marriage) (class-57)
    • Gemini represents Mercury's dual nature — intellectual duality in partnerships
    • Arudra nakshatra (Gemini 6°40'-20°) discussed in class-51 nakshatra debate

Cancer (Kataka)

  • Type: Movable (Chara); Water; Female
  • Lord: Moon
  • Key rules from batch 6:
    • Cancer Moon in student chart (Jul 5 1989, Visakhapatnam) = emotionally receptive learner (class-53)
    • Jupiter's exaltation in Cancer — exalted Jupiter in 2nd from UL = noble family of spouse (class-57)
    • 4th sign Cancer as reference for 4th house significations in bhava discussions (class-53)

Leo (Simha)

  • Type: Fixed (Sthira); Fire; Male
  • Lord: Sun
  • Key rules from batch 6:
    • Magha nakshatra (Leo 0°-13°20') discussed in class-51 nakshatra lordship debate — Leo/royal/ancestral themes vs Ketu dasha lordship
    • Sun hora (1st hora of odd signs) = Leo quality — authority and government source of wealth

Virgo (Kanya)

  • Type: Dual (Dvisva); Earth; Female
  • Lord: Mercury
  • Key rules from batch 6:
    • Virgo as Mercury's exaltation sign — Mercury in its own/exaltation sign in UL = stability for Mercury-related UL significations
    • Virgo represents intestinal tract (Mercury rules Virgo = gut/intestines) — relevant for Mars+Saturn breathing diseases that operate through the Mercury-sign context (class-58)

Libra (Tula)

  • Type: Movable (Chara); Air; Male
  • Lord: Venus
  • Key rules from batch 6:
    • Libra lagna in student chart (Jul 5 1989, 2:07 PM, Visakhapatnam) with Cancer Moon (class-53)
    • Saturn's exaltation in Libra — Saturn exalted in Libra as 4th lord example: the world perceives the native as one who gives themselves comfort with maximum dignity/balance
    • Jaffna native (class-55): Scorpio lagna (confirmed by analysis) rules out Libra lagna

Scorpio (Vrischika)

  • Type: Fixed (Sthira); Water; Female
  • Lord: Mars
  • Key rules from batch 6:
    • Jaffna native (Jun 27 1975, 4:45 PM) — Scorpio lagna confirmed after rectification exercise (class-55)
    • Mars-ruled fixed water sign: Scorpio in UL or lagna brings intense, transformative marriage dynamics
    • Ketu's exaltation in Scorpio (per some traditions) — relevant to Ketu in UL discussions

Sagittarius (Dhanu)

  • Type: Dual (Dvisva); Fire; Male
  • Lord: Jupiter
  • Key rules from batch 6:
    • Dual sign: Sagittarius in UL could also indicate tendency toward multiple marriages (dual nature, though less commonly cited than Gemini/Pisces for this)
    • Jupiter-ruled: Sagittarius in 2nd from UL → noble, dharmic family of spouse (Jupiter's dharmic quality)

Capricorn (Makara)

  • Type: Movable (Chara); Earth; Male
  • Lord: Saturn
  • Key rules from batch 6:
    • Capricorn Moon in Jaffna native (class-55) — Capricorn Moon with Scorpio lagna: Saturn governs emotional nature
    • Mars exalted in Capricorn — exalted Mars in relevant positions (UL, 7th from AL) gives strong warrior/physical energy
    • Saturn's own sign: Capricorn-placed Saturn in arudha positions gives Saturnine effects with full strength

Aquarius (Kumbha)

  • Type: Fixed (Sthira); Air; Male
  • Lord: Saturn
  • Key rules from batch 6:
    • Fixed sign: Aquarius as lagna for Muhurta gives sustained, structured practice (like Taurus but Saturn-flavoured — disciplined endurance)
    • Saturn's own sign: relevant when Saturn occupies Aquarius in UL or arudha positions

Pisces (Meena)

  • Type: Dual (Dvisva); Water; Female
  • Lord: Jupiter
  • Key rules from batch 6:
    • Dual sign: Pisces in UL → dual marriage tendencies (similar to Gemini pattern in UL)
    • Venus exalted in Pisces — exalted Venus in 2nd from UL = particularly positive for spouse's virtue and the marriage's quality
    • Jupiter's own sign: Pisces-placed Jupiter in 11th from AL gives dharmic, unobstructed gains

Sign type rules referenced in batch 6

  • Movable (Chara) signs — Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn: Quick to start, may not sustain; relevant for Muhurta selection (movable lagna = initial enthusiasm fades)
  • Fixed (Sthira) signs — Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius: Sustained, enduring; best for Muhurta when you want lasting practice or commitment (class-52 reference confirming batch 4 rule)
  • Dual (Dvisva) signs — Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces: Both qualities; in UL context, dual signs introduce duality/multiplicity into marriage (class-57)
  • Mercurial signs (Gemini/Virgo): Mars + Saturn here in UL → breathing/nasal diseases for spouse (class-58)
  • Martian signs (Aries/Scorpio): Mars + Saturn here in UL → breathing/nasal diseases; Jupiter + Saturn here in UL → eye/ear diseases (class-58)

v2 Batch 9 — Classes 81–90

Signs Master Sheet — Batch 9 (v2, classes 81–90)

This sheet records new observations, rules, and examples about individual signs from classes 81–90.

Aries (Mesha)

Aries as D4 Lagna: In NMK's D4 chart (class-85/86), after rectification Lagna shifted to include Moon in Cancer (or nearby). Aries as Lagna = Mars as 9th lord in Badhaka sthana with good connections makes foreign travel prominent in Mars-related periods.

Moon at 3° Aries = first Navamsa = Vargottama: Moon at the very beginning of Aries (1st navamsa = Aries) is Vargottama because the first Navamsa of Aries is Aries itself. This condition triggered Sadaya Dasha applicability in PVR's 1994 Tajaka D4 chart (class-81). Vargottama condition from Chandra Lagna (even when Lagna itself is not Vargottama) can activate a conditional dasha.

Cancer (Karka)

Cancer as D24 Lagna for education: If D24 Lagna is Cancer (class-89/90 context), the 4th lord (of basic education) = Venus, and the 9th lord (higher education) = Jupiter. Exalted Jupiter or Mercury in Cancer Lagna D24 = strong academic potential. Cancer Lagna in D24 was one of the borderline options for S Ram's chart — the Cancer vs. Leo ambiguity was not fully resolved (1.5-minute error in time).

Cancer as Ashlesha nakshatra territory: 16°40' – 30° Cancer = Ashlesha. Planets at the tail-end of Cancer are in Ashlesha and at or near the Cancer-Leo Gandanta. The most troublesome region in the zodiac for Moon: Ashlesha + Sarpa Drekkana + Gandanta all converge in the final 10° of Cancer.

Leo (Simha)

Leo as D4 Lagna for PVR's 1994 Tajaka: Leo D4 Lagna (6° Leo = 2nd navamsa = Taurus = Venus navamsa) triggered Dwadashottari Dasha. The event (Korea trip, November 1994) made most sense in Dwadashottari's Saturn Dasha. Leo is the natural Lagna of politics, power, and authority.

Leo as Navamsa Lagna for Pranay (borderline): D24 Lagna in Pranay's chart was on the Cancer/Leo border. Leo D24 Lagna: Sun (9th lord) in the 9th house = medicine indication weakened (Sun as Lagna lord in 9th from Leo D24 would show Sagittarius — not ideal unless other factors confirm medicine). Cancer vs. Scorpio were the more discussed options in Pranay's case.

Leo as Dasamsa Lagna for Romney: Pisces D10 Lagna (not Leo, but PVR noted from Moon as reference, Moon is in Leo). Moon in Leo from Sun gives a specific Ashtavarga benefic/malefic profile.

Virgo (Kanya)

Virgo for lean, analytical personality: Physical description of a lean, tall, fast-speaking, analytical person points to Virgo Lagna over Libra. Mercury (Virgo's lord) = Vata dosha = thin, dry, intellectual. Ketu in Virgo Lagna = Vata amplified. For Aditya's chart (class-90), Virgo Rashi Lagna (vs. Libra) was supported by the "talks fast, analytical, lean/tall" description.

Virgo D10 Lagna for Mudga (class-84): Mudga's D10 Lagna was confirmed as Aquarius (not Libra) based on Mars being 10th lord in 11th house making excellent career sense. Virgo wasn't the D10 Lagna here, but Virgo appeared as the Rashi Lagna.

Virgo as D10 Lagna for NMK (class-86): After rectifying 3.5 minutes forward, NMK's D10 Lagna shifted to Virgo, making Mercury (10th lord) a significant career planet. The Virgo D10 explained the computer/IT type job better than Leo D10.

Libra (Tula)

Libra Rashi Lagna vs. Virgo (Aditya, class-90): Tula (Libra) Lagna would give a Kapha, diplomatic, well-built person. Saturn in the 2nd house (of Libra Lagna) + Mars debilitated as 2nd lord = poor speech indicators. Person who "speaks fast" → NOT Libra Lagna → Virgo more appropriate.

Libra D10 Lagna (Mudga's first check): Initial check with Libra D10 Lagna: Mars as 8th lord in 6th house (debilitated but functionally "free" as malefic) — career interpretation was somewhat workable but less clean than Aquarius. Ruled out in favor of Aquarius.

Libra D4 Lagna for RKG (class-85): Libra vs. Cancer D4 Lagna. Cancer D4 gave better three-reference Rahu-5th house connection for the childbirth in 2009. Libra was less convincing from Lagna reference.

Scorpio (Vrischika)

Scorpio as Dasamsa Lagna for Vivekananda: D10 Lagna = Scorpio. Moon, Venus, Jupiter clustered in 9th-10th house zone (Scorpio = Lagna; 9th = Cancer, 10th = Leo). Wait — actually Scorpio rising would put the 9th house in Cancer. Let's correct: AL and A5 were in Scorpio (the 1st house itself), and the major planets (Moon at 18°, Venus at 23°, Jupiter at 26°) were in Scorpio too (Lagna), not in the 9th. The 2nd house from A5 (Scorpio) = Sagittarius; planets in 2nd from A5 "feed" A5. But Lagna = Scorpio means Moon, Venus, Jupiter are conjunct with AL and A5 in Lagna. This powerful Gajakesari + Raja Yoga in Lagna = fame from the very nature of the person.

Scorpio as karmic and transformative sign: Scorpio as a sign in divisional charts carries themes of depth, hidden strength, transformation, and hidden suffering. Moon debilitated in D27 was in Aquarius (not Scorpio); Moon's Mrityu Bhaga is at 14° Scorpio. Scorpio in various divisional chart contexts throughout these classes = depth/transformation themes.

Sagittarius (Dhanu)

Sagittarius in D10 from Sun (Romney): From Sun (which is in Aries in Romney's D10), the 9th house is Sagittarius. Ketu is in Sagittarius (9th lord of D10 in the 9th house from Sun reference) = 9th lord in 9th = fortune in career. Combined with 10th house Ketu (from Lagna) = two major career-fortune connections for Ketu. This is why Mars-Ketu combination in D10 of Romney was so powerful.

Sagittarius as D24 Lagna possibility (Pranay): If D24 Lagna was Sagittarius (2 minutes later), then 4th lord Jupiter in the 3rd house = some initiative in learning; Saturn in Lagna = hardworking but challenges in the Lagna sign. This was considered as one option but not the primary one discussed.

Aquarius (Kumbha)

Aquarius D10 Lagna (Mudga): Mars as 10th lord in 11th house = career success in desires/certification domain. Mercury as 5th lord in own sign (Gemini in 5th) aspected by Mars = recognition + career Raja Yoga. This interpretation made Mars Dasha the obvious career success period for Mudga's D10.

Aquarius as 9th house in D27: Moon in Aquarius (Rahu's Moolatrikona) in D27 with Rahu = Moon dominated by Rahu = unstable mind at subconscious level. "Rahu will dominate. So Moon is very weak." Seen in Pranay's D27 (class-89).

Pisces (Meena)

Pisces D10 Lagna (Romney): Jupiter (Lagna lord + 10th lord) in 7th house = businessman/self-employed. Mars (9th lord) aspecting 10th house and 10th lord = fortune + career linked. Favorable chart for a venture capitalist who creates his own enterprise.

Pisces as Prashna Lagna (class-89): When Lagna lord Mercury was in Pisces in the Prashna chart (in Pisces, debilitated, but in a Shiva Rashi / Jupiterian sign), the debilitation was somewhat compensated: "He's debilitated, but he's in an auspicious sign. He's in Pisces, owned by Jupiter. He's a benefic sign, basically."

Jupiter debilitated in Pisces (not applicable — Jupiter exalts in Cancer, debilitates in Capricorn): Note — Jupiter's debilitation is Capricorn, not Pisces. Jupiter in Pisces is actually strong (in own sign). This was referenced in context of a student's question where they mentioned "exalted" Jupiter. Correction was made in the class.

General Sign Principles from Batch 9

Male signs (odd) and Hora: First half of odd signs = Surya Hora. Second half = Chandra Hora. This is the foundation of Lomasa's Hora-Paksha dasha selection rule.

Female signs (even) and Hora: First half of even signs = Chandra Hora. Second half = Surya Hora.

Watery signs and foreign travel: Watery signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) are conducive for going abroad. The 9th lord in a watery sign with the Badhaka lord or 7th lord adds to foreign travel potential. (Referenced in PVR's D4 analysis of his 1994 Korea trip, class-81.)

Vata signs for lean body type: Gemini, Virgo, Libra (air) and Aries, Sagittarius (fire — more Pitta) give lean/thin builds. Taurus, Cancer, Leo, Scorpio, Pisces (earth/water — more Kapha) give heavier builds. For rectification between Virgo and Libra, Virgo is Vata/lean while Libra is more Kapha/balanced build.
