Analogy used: Two enemies in two corners of a room don't fight. Two enemies standing face-to-face in the middle of the room — they fight. Close conjunction → both images assert themselves.

In Sanjay Gandhi's case, Venus (in own sign Libra) and Jupiter (inimical sign) are close → fight → split/contradictory public image. Venus ultimately wins (own sign), but Jupiter's image is not suppressed because of close conjunction.

Why 3rd is included in Viparita? The 3rd lord governs hard work and difficulty. If the planet that would give losses (6th/8th/12th lord) is placed in the 3rd house (of difficulty), it has to struggle to give losses. So the person is protected from severe harm.

Example from class: Moon (12th lord) in 3rd house = 12th lord placed in difficulty → Viparita Raj Yoga → the tendency toward loss is turned into strength.

[!TIP] Parivartana between 3rd and 12th lords = good yoga (both are "bad" houses exchanging with each other = Viparita). Compare: Parivartana between 10th and 12th lords = Dur Yoga (good house + bad house exchange = bad).

How to judge which is stronger: Use jHora — check Vimshottari seeds/strength comparison. Count planets in quadrants from both Lagna nakshatra and Janma (Moon) nakshatra. More planets in quadrants = stronger.
