🪐 Opening — Saturn Changes Sign + Shani Gayatri {#opening}

Saturn recently moved from Gemini to Cancer. To mark the occasion the class performs Shani Gayatri eleven times:

Om śanno devīr abhiṣṭaya āpo bhavantu pītaye | śaṃ yorabhiḥ sravantu naḥ ||

Om Śanaiścarāya Namaḥ

[!TIP] The teacher recommends performing Shani Gayatri whenever Saturn changes signs or aspects a sensitive point in one's chart.

🎯 Jayaram Puzzle — Confirmation {#jayaram}

Option C (May 8/9, 1997) was confirmed as the correct marriage date. The class's analysis from the previous session was validated.

🪐 Sanjay Gandhi — Split Image from Arudha Lagna {#sanjay-gandhi}

A student revisits an earlier chart discussion (Sanjay Gandhi, Capricorn Lagna, Venus + Jupiter in Arudha Lagna in Libra):

Rule on multiple planets on Arudha Lagna:

Scenario Effect on World Image
Two enemy planets far apart on AL One image dominates (stronger/own-sign planet); the other is suppressed
Two enemy planets very close together on AL Both images fight for expression; the world sees a split or contradictory image
One planet in own sign vs the other in inimical sign Own-sign planet wins (home advantage)

Analogy used: Two enemies in two corners of a room don't fight. Two enemies standing face-to-face in the middle of the room — they fight. Close conjunction → both images assert themselves.

In Sanjay Gandhi's case, Venus (in own sign Libra) and Jupiter (inimical sign) are close → fight → split/contradictory public image. Venus ultimately wins (own sign), but Jupiter's image is not suppressed because of close conjunction.

🏠 Vijay's Chart — Career Focus (D10 Narayana Dasha) {#vijay-d10}

Birth data: August 31, 1953 · 4:05 AM IST · Visakhapatnam, India (83°18'E, 17°42'N)

♄ Libra Narayana Dasha (D10) — Three-Parts Analysis {#libra-nd}

Libra Dasha running from August 1998. Libra = Shirshodaya rashi.

Three-parts structure:

One-Third Period Governor Results Given
1st Aug 1998 – Dec 2000 Libra (sign itself) 2nd house results (Libra's house from Lagna)
2nd Dec 2000 – Apr 2003 Planets occupying & aspecting Libra Saturn (Libra occupant), Mercury (occupant), Venus (rashi aspect), Ketu (rashi aspect)
3rd Apr 2003 – Aug 2005 Venus (lord of Libra, placed in Taurus = Prishtha rashi → prefers last one-third) Venus results — 9th house from Lagna, 7th from AL

[!NOTE] Libra's lord Venus is in Taurus (Prishthaodaya) → Venus prefers the last one-third → planets in/aspecting Libra fill the middle one-third; Venus takes the last.

🪐 Venus Avastha Analysis (D10) {#venus-avastha}

Venus = 2nd and 9th lord; placed in 9th house (own sign Taurus) in D10.

Avasthas of Venus (in Dasamsa):

Avastha Type State Meaning
Basic Vruddha (old) "I've done enough; I want to relax"
Basic Supta (asleep) Doesn't want to wake up
Basic Dina (sad) Sad, diminished energy
Basic Kipu (?) Low energy state
Sainari Natrupani (Netrapani) Vigilant, effortful — has to put in hard work; malefic avastha for this context

Compare:

  • Jupiter in Prakasana avastha (glowing) — very active and bright
  • Moon in Bhojana avastha (relaxed, having food) — comfortable
  • Sun in Chiriyath avastha (wants to dance/rock and roll) — excited, gives results happily

[!IMPORTANT] Natrupani avastha = planet has to work hard, be vigilant, grab opportunities with effort. NOT an avastha of easy blessings. The 9th lord (Venus) in this avastha means fortune/protection in career does not come easily — requires hard work to materialize.

Venus four-quarter analysis within the last one-third: (Venus is malefic-leaning due to Avasthas → malefic planet: first quarter = Avastha results; second = duties/houses; third = yogas; fourth = houses the planet wants)

  • Q1 (Capricorn AD): Venus gives results of placement — 9th house (Dharma) and 7th from AL
  • Q2 (Aquarius AD): Venus gives results of ownership — 2nd and 9th lord results
  • Q3 (Pisces AD, Jun 2004 – Jan 2005): Venus gives results of yoga with Ketu → Ketu = 3rd lord (break/vacation) + destroyer of career bondage → very bad period for job-seeking
  • Q4: Avastha results

[!WARNING] Pisces Antardasha (June 2004 – January 2005): Venus + Ketu yoga active. Ketu = 3rd lord (vacation/break), planet of moksha. Ketu wants to "burn down everything" — will not give new career starts. This is the worst period for getting a job in the entire Libra Dasha sequence.

🌟 Virgo Narayana Dasha (D10) Forecast {#virgo-nd}

Starting August 31, 2005. Virgo = Lagna.

Indicator Assessment
From Lagna Lagna sign = always gives new beginning; strong positive
From AL 11th house of gains and desire fulfillment
Virgo = Shirshodaya First one-third gives Virgo's (Lagna) results first
Mercury (lord) in Libra Also Shirshodaya → Mercury gives results in second one-third

Predictions:

  • First one-third (Virgo, Libra Antardashas): New beginning after Aug 2005; 10th house antardasha (Gemini) = good chance of new job very soon after dasha start
  • Middle one-third: Mercury results. Mercury takes Saturn's color (they conjoin); Mercury = malefic. Malefic: Q1 = Avastha; Q2 = houses (Mercury–Saturn Raja Yoga). Saturn–Mercury Raja Yoga (Lagna lord + 5th lord = Raj yoga in D10) → gives recognition, growth — ripens in Virgo/Scorpio Antardasha (~2010 March – 2011 Feb)
  • Last one-third: Planets in/aspecting Virgo (Mars, Sun, Jupiter, Moon) give results

Job timing prediction: Very likely after August 31, 2005 — first 11 months especially favorable.

🪔 Annual Pravesha 2005 — Career Year {#pravesha-2005}

Annual chart starting August 26, 2005.

Feature Detail
Hora lord (ruler of year) Mercury
Mercury in Rasi Lagna lord + 10th lord; conjunct Saturn (5th lord) → Raja Yoga in ~9°
Karma Sahama In Gemini (7° Gemini), 10th house; lord = Mercury; Mercury is also Karma significator
Mercury in Dasamsa Exalted in 3rd house (own sign Virgo? / Virgo or Gemini — 3rd lord in 3rd = comfortable initiative)
3rd lord in 3rd (Dasamsa) Hasta Yoga + relaxed, low-pressure initiative
6th lord in 6th (Dasamsa) Hasta Yoga → service will come easily
Jupiter (9th lord) + Ketu (5th lord) in 6th Dhimanta Yoga (5th + 6th) + trine lords in 6th of service = blessings through service
Hora Lagna in 6th Revenue generated through service
Sun (in Ghatika Lagna area) Recognition of abilities during Sun period → March period
Jupiter period (Aug 27 – Nov 4) Strongest window for getting job — Jupiter = 9th lord exalted; Ketu = 5th lord; both in 6th; from AL = 9th (fortune perception)

[!IMPORTANT] Best window: September–November 2005. Jupiter period in annual chart = highest probability of getting a job. Type of job: full-time, consultant-like, senior advisory role. Yama amsha for both Jupiter and Ketu → quality control, device verification, hardware EV, diagnostic roles.

📊 Annual Pravesha 2010 — Peak Career {#pravesha-2010}

Feature Detail
Hora lord Mars
Mars in Rasi Amatyakaraka; in 12th house but with Venus and Saturn
Yoga AK + AMK + Putrakaraka conjunction = Raja Samantha Yoga + Raja Yoga
From AL 2nd house — appears very resourceful to the world; feeds image
Mars in Dasamsa Exalted (9th lord); with Jupiter (Lagna + 10th lord, retrograde + debilitated = treated as exalted)
Jupiter–Mars yoga Two effectively-exalted planets = extremely auspicious Lakshmi-Dharma-Karma yoga

Prediction: Second one-third of Virgo Narayana Dasha (2010 March – 2011 Feb) coincides with strong 2010 annual chart. Expect significant career recognition and rise during this period.

📊 Vijay's Chart — Finance Focus (D2 Narayana Dasha) {#vijay-d2}

Narayana Dasha Sequence (Hora Chart / D2) {#d2-dasha-seq}

Dasha Period From Lagna From AL Assessment
Sagittarius 1993–2002 5th house (trine = easy blessings, earning ability) 8th house (benefic sign) = sudden rise Very good — sudden financial growth
Taurus 2002–2004 10th house (effort, activity) 1st from AL (new financial beginning) Mixed — lord Venus in 12th, Moon–Venus Dur Yoga; setbacks
Libra 2004–2009+ 3rd house (swim against stream) 6th from AL (not good perception) Hard work; tightness 2004–2007; better 2007–2010

Dur Yoga in Taurus Dasha: Moon (10th lord) and Venus (12th lord) in Parivartana → 10th lord exchanging with 12th lord = Dur Yoga (setbacks; not Raj Yoga because a good lord exchanges with a bad lord).

Libra Dasha details:

  • Libra = Shirshodaya; lord Venus = Prishtha (prefers last one-third)
  • Sign's own one-third (first): 2004–2007 — 3rd house hardship, 6th from AL → swim against stream; tight finances; exalted Saturn in Libra gives energy to keep working
  • Middle one-third: Occupants/aspects (Sun, Mars yoga) → protection; Mars + Sun = Lagna + 9th lord giving Raja Yoga in Lagna = financial protection never catastrophic
  • Last one-third: Venus's results → caution; Venus in 12th → loss/charity; watch against becoming complacent
  • 2007–2010: Best sub-period. Sun + Mars aspects Libra → strong Raja Yoga; protection from Mars throughout.

[!TIP] Remedy for financial protection: Mars + Sun + Mercury → Hanuman puja or Baglamukhi (considered mother/avatar related to Hanuman). Also: Rudram Namakam for Rudra = Mars. These ensure "you will not have to beg even in tight periods."

Annual Pravesha in Hora (Current & Next Years) {#hora-annual}

Year Hora lord Hora lord placement Assessment
Current (2004–2005) Moon 12th from Lagna; 8th from AL (Krishna Paksha = malefic); Badesha Jupiter in Lagna Not a good year — tightness, apparent fall in status
Coming (2005–2006) Mercury Lagna lord + 4th lord; in 3rd with Sun (friend); 11th from AL (gains) Good — new financial beginning; appears to be making gains; Venus–Jupiter Raja Yoga in annual chart
2006 Moon 3rd house; 12th lord in 3rd = Viparita Raj Yoga; Moon–Venus Parivartana (3rd–12th = good exchange); 5th from AL Good — auspicious yoga; Moon as 12th lord in 3rd = Viparita Raj Yoga

🔮 Deep Dive: UL & A5 in D2 — Investment Logic {#ul-a5}

The class develops a two-layer model for understanding investment:

flowchart TD
    I[Investment Act] --> T[Tangible layer]
    I --> IT[Intangible layer]
    T --> UL[UL = Arudha of 12th house\nActual letting money go\nTangible action world can see]
    IT --> H5[5th house from Lagna\nCapability = why you invest wisely\nIntangible — only you know your ability]
    UL --> |Well-placed from AL| Good[Investment enhances reputation]
    UL --> |Badly placed from AL| Bad[Investment hurts reputation]
    H5 --> |Blend with UL| INV[Investment = letting money go\nin a capable way]

Key rules:

  1. UL = tangible loss/investment/letting go (Arudha Pada of 12th house)
  2. 5th house = intangible capability (the motivation and ability behind the investment)
  3. UL + 5th house together → the person makes capable investments
  4. UL in 11th from AL → world sees investments as prudent/safe (not risky)
  5. UL + A5 conjunct → investments are seen by the world as capable (safe, in established companies)
  6. To confirm actual profit: must see A11 linked to UL. UL in 11th from AL alone shows perceived gains, not necessarily actual profits.

[!NOTE] UL means different things in different divisional charts:

  • Rasi/Navamsa: spouse (marriage partner)
  • Dasamsa: loss in career
  • Hora (D2): loss/investment in financial situation

Vijay's D2 UL:

  • UL in 8th house → investments happen suddenly/impulsively (8th = suddenness)
  • UL in 11th from AL → world perceives investments as profitable
  • UL + A5 conjunct → investments seen as capable and safe
  • No A11–UL link → actual profits may not be spectacular; advise safe investments in established companies

🔍 Benefic vs Malefic in 8th from Arudha Lagna (Hora) {#eighth-from-al}

Planet Type in 8th from AL (D2) Result
Benefic sign/planet Sudden rise in financial status
Malefic sign/planet Sudden fall in financial status

[!WARNING] If a malefic planet in the 8th from AL in Hora is giving its results in the current dasha, do not gamble or take speculative financial risks. Sudden loss of all money is possible.

🌀 Viparita Raja Yoga — Three/Six/Eight/Twelve Lords {#viparita}

Type Condition Effect
Dur Yoga Good lord (quadrant/trine) exchanges with 6th, 8th, or 12th lord Setbacks; the good house's results are obstructed
Viparita Raja Yoga 6th, 8th, or 12th lord in another 6th, 8th, 12th, or 3rd house Obstacles to the obstacle-givers → person flourishes despite adversity

Why 3rd is included in Viparita? The 3rd lord governs hard work and difficulty. If the planet that would give losses (6th/8th/12th lord) is placed in the 3rd house (of difficulty), it has to struggle to give losses. So the person is protected from severe harm.

Example from class: Moon (12th lord) in 3rd house = 12th lord placed in difficulty → Viparita Raj Yoga → the tendency toward loss is turned into strength.

[!TIP] Parivartana between 3rd and 12th lords = good yoga (both are "bad" houses exchanging with each other = Viparita). Compare: Parivartana between 10th and 12th lords = Dur Yoga (good house + bad house exchange = bad).

🌟 Vaiseshika Amsha & Lagna Vimshottari {#vaiseshika}

Vaiseshika Amsha

If a planet is in exaltation or own sign in 7 out of 10 Dasha Vargas → it achieves Devaloka Amsha (highest Vaiseshika Amsha level). A quadrant lord in Devaloka Amsha = caliber of a rishi (in Kali Yuga: high spiritual caliber + very good karma in society).

Lagna vs Chandra Vimshottari

Context Preferred Vimshottari
Mundane charts (country New Year, national charts) Always use Lagna Vimshottari
Individual horoscopes Default = Chandra (Moon) Vimshottari
Individual with Lagna much stronger than Moon May shift to Lagna Vimshottari

How to judge which is stronger: Use jHora — check Vimshottari seeds/strength comparison. Count planets in quadrants from both Lagna nakshatra and Janma (Moon) nakshatra. More planets in quadrants = stronger.

[!TIP] Test empirically: check known life events against both Lagna Vimshottari and Chandra Vimshottari. Whichever fits better = use that one.
