1. Find the planet(s) well-connected to 9th house (boss/guidance) and 5th house (recognition/fame) in D10 and Rasi
2. Ensure the planet has no significant blemish in either chart
3. Recommend that planet's gemstone

[!WARNING] A planet good in Rasi but bad in D10 may improve overall life while creating specific career problems. Conversely, praying to a planet is always safe — unlike gemstones, prayer accentuates only what is beneficial and reduces what is bad, without inadvertently strengthening malefic dimensions.

🕍 Jupiter as Religion / Propitiations for Non-Hindus

Q: For a Christian client, can we suggest praying to Jesus when Jupiter needs propitiation?

Hindu astrology does not have classical references mapping planetary deities to deities of other religions. Hinduism is well-documented; other religions are not mapped in this system.

PVR's answer for any religion:

• Jupiter = the teacher figure, the wise priest, the wise counselor
• For a true Christian who does not believe in idol worship: serve a priest — volunteer at a church or help a local pastor. That seva serves as propitiation for Jupiter.

🌱 Shramadana — Secular Planetary Remedies

[!IMPORTANT] For secular clients who will not do mantras or pujas, suggest Shramadana (donation of labor) or Dhanadana (donation of money) to institutions or activities governed by the problematic/targeted planet.

"Either donation of money or giving your effort (Shramadana). If you do that, it can also help. And it is Satvik — even if a planet is bad for you, making the planet happier with you will reduce its displeasure and increase its pleasure."

Key difference from gemstones: This does NOT accentuate the planet's negative qualities. It builds a positive relationship with the planetary energy.

🧠 Dhimanta Yoga — Extended Definition

Q: Is Dhimanta Yoga formed by any two of 1st/3rd/5th/6th lord connections?

[!NOTE] Perfect Dhimanta Yoga = connection of all four — 1st, 5th, 3rd, and 6th lords.

The four components

"Ideal Dhimanta: pure essence (1st) + wisdom/scholarship (5th) + initiative to apply it (3rd) + applying it to overcome obstacles (6th). But this is rarely found together. Even 2-3 factors connected gives some level of Dhimanta Yoga."

The classical formulation is often stated as 5th+6th lord, but any two or three of these four lords in connection qualifies as a weaker form.

🪐 Bhadra Maha Purusha Yoga + Retrograde Mercury

Case: Mercury exalted in a Kendra (4th house, Kanya/Virgo) but also retrograde.

Q: Does this still give Bhadra Maha Purusha Yoga?

[!IMPORTANT] Technically yes — exalted Mercury in a Kendra = Bhadra Yoga by the rule. But retrograde + exalted = Ucha Bhanga (cancellation of exaltation). The yoga is therefore very weak.

"Affliction doesn't really matter for Maha Purusha Yoga. But if there is retrogression along with the exaltation, that's a problem. Being in own sign + retrograde doesn't have the same impact."

"Trine lords are supposed to give blessings easily, without effort, as a result of previous good karmas. If the planet is debilitated, he can't give those results — like someone who wants to help you but his hands are tied."

[!TIP] Debilitated trine lord + worn gemstone = recommended. The planet wants to help you but lacks strength. Wearing its gemstone, especially during the planet's dasha or a strong transit period (exaltation/own sign), amplifies the planet's capacity to give its intended positive results.

Optimizing Timing for Debilitated Trine Lord Worship

Pick a time when:

• The debilitated planet's Dasha is running (more control over life)
• The planet is transiting through exaltation or own sign
• → Then pray to it or wear its gemstone for maximum effect

✨ Neechabhanga Raja Yoga — Rules

Q: What are the conditions for Neechabhanga?

Three classical conditions:

[!WARNING] The planet with exaltation in that sign must be in a Kendra — just being conjunct the debilitated planet in the same house does NOT constitute Neechabhanga.

Example: Sagittarius Lagna, Moon in Scorpio, Mars in 10th house (Virgo).

• Nobody is exalted in Scorpio, so clause 3 applies to the sign lord Mars
• Mars is in 10th from Lagna = Kendra → Neechabhanga for Moon

Nuance: Since Moon is the 8th lord here, Neechabhanga for an 8th lord is less desirable than for a trine or quadrant lord. Neechabhanga Raja Yoga of a Dusthana lord is the weakest form.

🧑‍💼 Live Case — Relationship and Career Analysis

Data: December 2, 1963, 1:30 AM, Mumbai, India Lagna: Leo (at the far end, ~10°57' — very close to the Leo-Virgo cusp) Lagna determination: 48 seconds later → Virgo. Circumstantial evidence (authoritative, practical, not scholarly personality) supports Leo Lagna. Dasamsa unchanged regardless of 48-second difference.

Situation:

• Relationship of ~11 years with an employee (since 1994)
• Relationship "downgraded" July/August 2005 (she left the company, equity dispute)
• Now on make-or-break terms; he is ready to end it but has mixed feelings
• Career also impacted by the relationship's lingering complication

Why Jupiter Gave the Relationship (1994)

• UL lord = Jupiter → first relationship signified by Jupiter
• 8th from UL = Libra → second relationship signified by Venus
• The 1994 relationship started in Jupiter Dasha → this was the FIRST UL-level relationship
• The early 1983–84 affair (Rahu Dasha) was therefore either: (a) a passing affair not counting as a UL-event, or (b) not a genuine commitment

"UL is basically commitment — you want to share life together, you want to compromise for each other. A one or two-year relationship without that intent doesn't necessarily count as a marriage in the UL framework."

Saturn's Dual Role

Saturn is both 6th lord and 7th lord in Leo Lagna:

• As 6th lord in 6th: creates problems in the relationship
• As 7th lord: won't let it fully break either

"Mercury, Sun sub-period is actually relatively fine — Sun is 9th lord with Raja Yoga from Lagna. But Moon sub-period shows a potential break in the relationship. After November 25 — about one to two months of lingering trouble, then career smooths out and relationship likely breaks."

⚖️ Ethics of Recommending Separation

[!WARNING] An astrologer should never recommend separation or divorce except in the most extreme circumstances.

PVR's statement:

"Suggesting divorce to somebody or suggesting separation is a big karma. It's a bad idea for us as astrologers. We don't recommend that ever. Unless in really, really extreme cases."

What an astrologer CAN say:

• "The chances of this surviving are very low."
• Not: "You should end this relationship."

Rule for UL: Even if the couple is not formally married but the UL is activated (11+ year relationship here = clearly a UL), treat it as a marriage. Discouraging separation applies.
