Rashi Chart Analysis
Key features at a glance:
| Feature | Detail | Significance |
|---|---|---|
| Mars in 3rd house, Gandanta | 2nd degree of Sagittarius (Moola Gandanta) | Mars = 2nd + 7th lord (Maraka); Gandanta Maraka is very dangerous |
| Mars + Ketu in 3rd | Afflicts third house (lungs/chest) | Source of asthma |
| Jupiter (Guru Chandala Yoga) | Jupiter afflicted by Rahu; also aspected by Mars/Ketu | 6th lord Jupiter in Guru Chandala Yoga |
| Lagna lord Venus in Cancer (11th) | Exalted; in quadrant; friendly sign | Strong; afflicted by nodes and Maraka Mars |
| 5th house has Mars | Neutral–malefic planet in 5th (intelligence house) | Intelligence weakened |
| 5th lord Mercury in 6th | Dusthana placement; but also Dhimanta Yoga | Partial saving grace |
| 4th house | Has 8th lord + Mandi | Learning environment afflicted |
| 4th lord Sun in 2nd (Maraka sthana) | Aspecting 8th house | 4th lord in Maraka weakens learning foundation |
Asthma source (3rd house = lungs/chest in individual + natural zodiac):
- Natural zodiac 3rd house: Jupiter + Rahu (Guru Chandala)
- Individual 3rd house: Mars in Gandanta + Ketu
- Third lord (Jupiter) afflicted by Rahu
- Result: Severe affliction to lungs/breathing from birth
[!WARNING] The combination is so severe that the affliction manifests from birth — it does not require a specific Dasha trigger. Mars aspects Lagna lord Venus; Jupiter aspects Lagna; both afflictions compound.
D-24 (Chaturvimshamsha) — Learning Analysis
Chaturvimshamsha (D-24) governs all forms of learning, grasping ability, and formal education.
Lagna determination:
- Given time gives Taurus as D-24 Lagna (2 seconds earlier → Aries)
- Taurus accepted based on contextual evidence
Taurus D-24 Lagna analysis:
| Factor | Detail | Assessment |
|---|---|---|
| 4th house of learning (Leo) | Contains 8th lord Jupiter — functional malefic | Jupiter in 4th as malefic = bad for learning |
| 5th house (intelligence, Virgo) | Empty, but 5th lord Mercury is in 6th | 5th lord in Dusthana = weaker intelligence |
| Badhaka lord in 9th (Badhaka sthana) | Third lord (Venus) in 9th | Creates inexplicable obstacles |
| Lagna lord Venus in 11th, exalted | Afflicted by nodes and Maraka Mars | Saving grace but limited |
| Rogapada (A6) in Lagna | Tangible disease/struggle present from birth | Confirms health issues |
D-24 Narayana Dasha analysis (seeded from 4th lord of Rashi = Saturn in Scorpio):
| Dasha | Duration | Assessment |
|---|---|---|
| Scorpio Dasha | Till ~2005 | Completed |
| Sagittarius Dasha | ~2005–2013 | 8th house from Taurus D-24 Lagna; also 12th from AL and 12th from Moon → Very bad for learning |
| Capricorn Dasha | ~2013–2021 | Badhaka sthana; Badhaka lord Jupiter aspecting; not good |
| Virgo Dasha | ~2021+ | Lagna itself; Lagna lord Mercury in friendly sign → First relief |
Conclusion: Learning difficulties persist for a foreseeable future (through ~2021). Improvement possible after Virgo Dasha starts.
D-30 (Trimsamsha) — Health & Nervous System
Key finding in Trimsamsha:
- Rahu and Ketu are in a Vayu (air) Rashi (Saturn's sign)
- Vayu Tattva represents: nervous system (signal flow), breathing, circulation
Bodily correspondences:
| Planet | Body Tissue / System |
|---|---|
| Sun | Bone |
| Moon | Blood |
| Mercury | Plasma, skin; communication in nervous system |
| Mars | Nerve tissue (physical) |
| Jupiter | Fat (Medha) |
| Saturn | Muscle |
| Venus | Reproductive tissue |
| Rahu/Ketu | Depletion of all tissues |
Mercury's role: Karaka for communication within the nervous system. In D-30:
- Mercury is in the 8th house
- Rahu + Ketu have an unobstructed Argala on Mercury (counted in reverse; no planets in 10th house to obstruct)
- This Argala depletes Mercury's functional capacity → nervous communication problem confirmed
[!IMPORTANT] Rahu–Ketu in a Vayu rashi → Vayu affliction → nervous system weakness. Mercury (communication karaka) has unobstructed malefic Argala → compromised nervous communication. Physical basis for both asthma and cognitive issues.
Who is the savior in D-30? Mercury–Venus Parivartana → pray to Vishnu (Mercury + Venus = Narayana + Lakshmi). Saturn as Yogakaraka also has Paataka sambandha with 4th and 5th lords.
Rashi Narayana Dasha
| Dasha | Assessment |
|---|---|
| Libra (current ~2006–) | Lagna itself; 6th lord Jupiter with Rahu Chandala afflicts; starts okay |
| Scorpio (~next) | Lagna lord Mars in Gandanta; Jupiter in 8th as 5th lord; somewhat better |
| Sagittarius | Lagna afflicted by 12th lord Mars + Ketu; 6th lord Jupiter Chandala; Dasha Pravesh also bad |
| Capricorn | Badhaka sthana; Dasha Pravesh Chakra has 6th lord Mercury afflicted by Rahu (same as natal) |
Verdict: Multiple Dasha systems concur — no good period universally for the foreseeable future.
Sapa Yoga — Brahmana Sapa
Identification: Jupiter (a Brahmin planet) is afflicted by two malefics simultaneously:
- Rahu (conjunction — Guru Chandala Yoga)
- Mars (aspect — Maraka Mars in Gandanta aspects Jupiter)
Two malefics simultaneously afflicting Jupiter = Brahmana Sapa (curse from a Brahmin in a previous life).
[!WARNING] Rahu is the Atmakaraka in this chart. When Atmakaraka is involved in a Sapa, it is a soul-level curse — deeper and more severe than a regular Sapa.
Remedy for Brahmana Sapa (from BPHS):
- Donate generously to a true Brahmin: one interested in knowledge and spiritual progress, not money/authority
- Donate: cows, gold, land, food
- Teacher's note: "Not anyone born in Brahmin caste — only one who is genuinely not interested in money, power, or physical pleasures. One who seeks knowledge alone."
Mrityu Bhaga — Mars is Critical
Finding: Mars, who is already:
- In Gandanta (water-fire junction)
- A Maraka (2nd + 7th lord)
- Aspecting Lagna lord
- In Guru Chandala Yoga aspecting Jupiter
...is also in Mrityu Bhaga (the specific death-degree for Mars in Sagittarius).
How to check Mrityu Bhaga in JHora: Basics tab → Key Info tab → change dropdown to "Distances from Mrityu Bhaga and Pushkar Bhaga"
Mars Dasha (Vimshottari): 2012–2019 — identified as the most critical period. Both Vimshottari Mars Dasha and Narayana Sagittarius Dasha run simultaneously, compounding the difficulty.
[!WARNING] "Death-like suffering" is possible in Mars Dasha (2012–2019). All remedies must begin now, not when problems manifest. Results from remedies may not be visible immediately — do not be disheartened; continue without interruption.
Remedies Summary
| Remedy | Purpose | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Vishnu worship / Vishnu Sahasranama | Mercury–Venus Parivartana in D-30 | Every Saturday + Wednesday |
| Kartikeya / Subramanya worship | Mars + Ketu in fiery sign (Sagittarius) = Subramanya | Critical for 2012–2019; start now |
| Gandanta Shanti for Mars | Mars in Moola Gandanta | If not done at birth, do now |
| Brahmana Sapa remedies (BPHS) | Atmakaraka Rahu involved in Sapa | Donate to true Brahmins; give cows/gold/land |
| Avoid | Strengthening gem for Mars (not advisable; malefic) | — |
Expected outcome: Full cure is unlikely given the combination's severity. The goal is to limit damage and create the right environment for the child. Some improvement possible after Virgo Narayana Dasha (~2021+).
📚 Teaching Interlude — Pachaka Sambandha
Pachakadi Sambandhas — four types of planetary relationships that show cooperation/opposition:
| Sanskrit | Meaning | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Pachaka | "Ripener/Cook" | Hastens the manifestation of another planet's results; creates conditions for transformation |
| Bodhaka | "Counselor/Explainer" | Guides the planet on what results to give; like a teacher |
| Karaka | "Doer" | Actually gets things done; most important relationship |
| Vyadhaka | "Obstacle-creator" | Creates friction and obstacles; forces harder work |
Naisargika (universal, fixed) Pachakadi for Venus:
| Relationship | Planet |
|---|---|
| Pachaka | Moon (creates mental/emotional readiness for Venus's results) |
| Bodhaka | Mercury (explains to Venus how to give happiness) |
| Karaka | Saturn (does the hard work so Venus's pleasure can be realised) |
| Vyadhaka | Sun (creates obstacles to Venus's enjoyment) |
Dynamic (chart-specific) Sthana relationships from Venus:
| Sthana | House from Venus | Occupant | Assessment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pachaka sthana | 2nd from Venus | Empty | Neutral |
| Bodhaka sthana | 6th from Venus | Leo (4th house) | Contains 8th lord Jupiter — enemy counsel → bad for learning |
| Karaka sthana | 10th from Venus | Empty | Neutral |
| Vyadhaka sthana | 11th from Venus | Aquarius | Contains Saturn (Yogakaraka) — good Vyadhaka |
Key insight: The planet that "counsels" Lagna lord Venus on giving results (Bodhaka) is the 8th lord — his natural enemy. This is one structural reason for the chart's difficulty: Venus's own guidance system is corrupted.
📜 BPHS Chapter 22 — Twelfth House (Vyaya Bhava)
"Athaaha jayabhavasya kathyaami phalam dvija" — "O Brahmin, now I describe the results of the twelfth house."
Verse 1 — Twelfth Lord with Benefics / Exalted / Own Sign
Conditions (any one or more):
- Vyayesha (12th lord) is with functional benefics, OR
- Vyayesha is in exaltation or own sign, AND
- 12th house has functional benefics in it
Result: Subhakarye Vyaya — expenses on auspicious matters (religious causes, charity, good deeds).
[!NOTE] The 12th house governs vyaya = expenditure. "Vyaya" does not necessarily mean loss — it means money leaving you. Good planets → auspicious expenditure. Bad planets → wasteful or sinful expenditure.
Verse 2 — Moon as Twelfth Lord in 5th/9th/11th or Own/Exalted Sign
Applicable to: Leo Lagna (Moon = 12th lord)
Conditions:
- Moon (12th lord) in 5th, 9th, or 11th house (both Rashi and/or Navamsha)
- Or Moon in own sign, exaltation, or own Navamsha
Result: Divyagara (beautiful divine residences), Divya gandha (fine perfumes), Divya vastra (beautiful clothes), royal ornaments. The person lives with great luxuries.
Interpretation: Moon governs the mind, enjoyment, and nourishment. When Moon-as-12th-lord is strong, the person spends freely on material comforts and lives like a king.
Verse 3 — Twelfth Lord Badly Placed → Loss of Marital Happiness
Conditions:
- Vyayesha in 6th or 8th house (Rashi), OR
- In an enemy's Navamsha or debilitation Navamsha
Results:
- Kantasukha Vivarjita — deprived of happiness from spouse
- Vyayadhikya Pariklanta — overwhelmed by excessive expenses; troubled by them
- Divyabhoga Nirakrita — rejected by divine pleasures/luxuries
If Vyayesha is in a Kendra or Trikona instead:
- Sva Striyalankrita Svayam — adorned by one's own spouse; happy marital life
[!IMPORTANT] Teaching: The 12th house governs not only expenses but also marital pleasure (bedroom happiness). A strong 12th lord → good conjugal happiness. A weak/afflicted 12th lord → loss of such happiness.
Verse 4 — Rahu in Twelfth with Malefics → Naraka (Hell)
Conditions:
- Rahu is in the 12th house
- Along with Mars, Saturn, or Sun (malefics)
- AND the 12th lord is also with Sun (or malefic)
Result: Naraka patanam bhavet — the person falls into hell (Naraka); bad Gati after death.
Teaching on the 12th house and Gati:
flowchart LR
A["4th House\n(Basic Gati/Direction)\nSpiritual goals set in life"] --> B["8th House\n(Sadhana)\nAll austerities & mystical practices"]
B --> C["12th House\n(Culmination)\nFinal destination after death"]
C --> D{"Planets in 12th?"}
D -->|"Benefics + benefic 12th lord"| E["Higher Lokas\nSwarga, Moksha path"]
D -->|"Rahu + Mars/Saturn + malefic 12th lord"| F["Naraka\n(Hell / lower realms)"]
[!NOTE] The rule can be applied to any Bhava as Lagna (per the previous general verse). Example: 10th house as Lagna → check 12th from 10th (= 9th house) for that person's Gati-equivalent.
Verse 5 — Natural Benefic in Twelfth, Exalted Twelfth Lord with Benefic → Moksha
Conditions:
- Natural benefic (Saumya graha) in 12th house
- Vyayesha in exaltation sign
- Vyayesha conjoined or aspected by functional benefics
Result: Moksha — naatra samshayah — Moksha; there is no doubt.
Teacher's important caveat:
"For real Moksha analysis, Navamsha is more important than Rashi, and Atmakaraka sthana is more important than Lagna. Apply these Parasara verses to the 12th from Atmakaraka in Navamsha for deeper accuracy. The Rashi result is one layer; the Navamsha result is the true spiritual substrate."
Practical example: One student's chart has:
- 12th from Atmakaraka = Scorpio; lord Mars in a trine with natural benefic; Jupiter aspects him
- Result: Good spiritual outlook for Moksha; "by following your Dharma, your Moksha is automatically taken care of" — because Moksha planet falls in Dharma sthana from Atmakaraka
Verse 6 — Malefics in Twelfth with Mars, No Benefic Aspect → Earning by Sin
Conditions:
- Saturn, Rahu, or Ketu in 12th house along with Mars
- No benefic aspect (Shubha drushti absent)
Result: Papamooladhana Arjanam — the person earns through sinful/illegal means (gambling, smuggling, trafficking, crime).
Why the 12th house governs the mode of earning:
- 12th has Argala on both the 11th (gains) and 2nd (wealth) houses — it is the common Argala house influencing both
- Therefore, the nature of planets in the 12th controls the means through which money flows
- Good planets → earn through good means → good Gati
- Bad planets → earn through bad means → bad Gati
"The way you accumulate your money controls what kind of Gati you have. These two are directly linked."
Verse 7 — Lagna–Twelfth Parivartana with Venus → Dharmic Expenses
Conditions:
- Lagna lord in 12th house AND twelfth lord in Lagna
- Twelfth lord is with Venus in the Lagna
Result: The person spends money on Dharmic causes — temples, charity, religious activities.
Extension: If Jupiter is there instead of Venus, similar result (Jupiter = Dharma planet; the verse is illustrative, not exclusive).
General Principle — Twelfth from Any Bhava
"Just as these results are given from Lagna for the self, in the same way, apply the analysis from the third house (younger siblings), ninth house (father), etc. The twelfth lord from any Bhava shows expenses / displacement / Gati for the person signified by that Bhava."
Example: 9th house as Lagna for father → 8th house (from 9th) = father's expenses/Gati.
Visible vs. Invisible Half of Zodiac
"Drushya chakrarthagah khetah pratyaksha phaldayakah. Adrushyarthagatah khetah parokshe phaldasrutah."
Planets in the visible half of the zodiac give obvious, clearly visible results. Planets in the invisible half give subtle, non-obvious results.
Definition:
| Half | Coverage | Principle |
|---|---|---|
| Visible half | From 7th house cusp to Lagna cusp (the upper hemisphere) | These degrees are above the horizon; planets here give results that can be seen by the world |
| Invisible half | From Lagna cusp to 7th house cusp (lower hemisphere) | Below horizon; results are internal, subtle, hidden |
Practical significance: Good Raja Yogas in the visible half are more impactful in the external world. Hidden combinations in the invisible half manifest internally or in private life.
Computing the visible half for a given house: Take the degree of that house's cusp; the arc from that point + 180° is the visible half for matters signified by that house.
☠️ Punya Chakra Teaching (Death Chart)
A Punya Chakra (also called Marana Chakra) is cast for the exact time of death. The teacher announces intention to study these in a future class.
Key principles introduced:
| House in Punya Chakra | Signification |
|---|---|
| 12th house | Where the soul goes immediately after death (Gati) |
| 7th house | The last thought/desire at the moment of death — the seed of the next birth |
"Whatever yogas appear in the 7th house of the Punya Chakra may actually become the Lagna yogas of the next janma chakra. The last thought determines the next life's agenda."
Krishna's teaching (Gita): The thought harboured at the moment of leaving the body determines the next birth. Sadhana's goal = practice "simulating death" so that at the actual moment, the mind is steady and not pulled by regrets or attachments.
Relevance of natal 12th house vs. Punya Chakra 12th house:
- Natal 12th = Gati + many other things simultaneously
- Punya Chakra 12th = only Gati; more conclusive
- All verses taught here can be applied to the Punya Chakra's 12th house with greater precision
🔮 Supplementary Chart Queries
Mahalaxmi's Pearl Gem — Career Side-Effect
Chart: Sept 16, 1963; 10:40 AM; Secunderabad (78°30′E, 17°27′N) Lagna: Scorpio 3°3′
Issue: Pearl (Moon) gemstone recommended for health/fortune; career setback followed (job threat, forced transfer).
Analysis:
| Chart | Moon's Role | Assessment |
|---|---|---|
| Rashi | Moon = 9th lord with 10th lord Sun in 10th house (Raja Yoga) | Good for fortune; 9th lord gem = safe generally |
| Navamsha | Moon = Lagna lord in Lagna (very strong) | Pearl is safe |
| Dasamsha (D-10) | Leo Lagna; Moon = 12th lord in 4th house, debilitated | 12th lord of losses in 4th = career instability, confusion, loss of direction |
Teacher's verdict: Pearl is fundamentally good for her (Rashi + Navamsha confirm). The D-10 weakness caused a career side-effect — not destruction, just temporary instability. Being a Moksha Trikona lord (12th) in another Moksha house (4th), it may ultimately redirect her toward better things.
Cause of side-effect: Probable impurity in gem or making process (jeweler's state of mind at time of making), or poor Muhurta when worn.
Resolution:
- Place pearl in puja room for 10 days
- Do Chandra Ashtottara or Om Chandraya Namah for 15–30 minutes daily during this period
- Re-wear on Monday at sunrise after prayer
Additional remedy for career: Kleem bija mantra (Kali) — because Mars (Ka aksharas; Kavarga ruled by Mars) is Yogakaraka exalted in 6th house, and Saturn is Amatyakaraka with Kali as Palana Devata. Any mantra starting with "Ka" activates Mars beneficially.
Aksharas (Sanskrit letters) and planetary rulers:
| Varga | Letters | Ruling Planet |
|---|---|---|
| Ka-varga | Ka, Kha, Ga, Gha | Mars |
| Cha-varga | Cha, Chha, Ja, Jha | Venus |
| Ta-varga (retroflex) | Ta, Tha, Da, Dha, Na | Mercury |
| Ta-varga (dental) | Ta, Tha, Da, Dha, Na | Jupiter |
| Pa-varga | Pa, Pha, Ba, Bha, Ma | Saturn |
| Semi-vowels | Ya, Ra, La, Va, Sa, Ha | Moon |
| Vowels | A, E, I, O, U (all svaras) | Sun |
Muhurta for Narasimha Mantra Initiation
Chart date/time: 1 July 2008, 4:30 AM, Durham, New Hampshire, USA (70°55′37″W, 43°8′2″N; GMT−4)
Purpose: Starting Narasimha mantra sadhana for spiritual upliftment (not material gain).
Analysis:
| Factor | Detail | Assessment |
|---|---|---|
| 5th house (mantra) | 5th lord in Lagna; afflicted by Sun | Slight concern but manageable |
| Jupiter (Karaka for mantra) | In own sign (Sagittarius); close aspect on Venus | Strong — excellent for mantra |
| Venus–Mercury Parivartana | Lagna lord in 12th (Moksha), 12th lord in Lagna | Lagna–12th Parivartana = moksha expenses yoga; excellent for spiritual purpose |
| Twelfth house | Contains exalted planet; Parivartana with Lagna | Very auspicious for detachment (real goal of mantra) |
| 8th house (sadhana, mystical experiences) | Contains Rahu + Mandi + Mulika; 8th lord Saturn in inimical sign with malefic Mars | Intense, possibly scary experiences during sadhana |
| Vara lord (Monday) | Moon = Krishnapaksha Trayodashi (almost new Moon); very weak; in 12th house of loss | Moon is weak — may stop sadhana soon; but not a disqualifier |
Teacher's assessment: Go ahead. This will give real experiences (8th house intensity + fierce deity Narasimha). May test you severely. The twelfth house is excellent for the real goal (detachment/Moksha).
Rules for any mantra sadhana:
- Same time, same place, same direction — non-negotiable
- If you stop, you lose the thread; endure physical discomfort
- "Fierce deities test you fast and give results fast — like a strict disciplinarian mother. If your leg hurts, forget the body. The goal of sadhana is precisely that — cutting identification with the body."
📚 Doctrine Notes
On Propitiating Malefic Planets
"Propitiation is not only for good planets. If a bad planet is threatening, you go directly to him and say: 'Please spare me.' You propitiate good planets to strengthen them so they can give the results they want to give but cannot. You propitiate bad planets to reduce their intensity."
Example: If a gang threatens your house, you approach the gang leader directly — not just strengthen your own supporters.
On Pachaka Sambandha and the Learning Chart
The Bodhaka sthana (counselor house) for the 4th lord Sun falls in Leo — which contains the 8th lord Jupiter. A planet's counselor being its enemy means it receives wrong guidance about what results to give → compromised 4th house (learning foundation).
On Sapas (Curses)
Sapas require:
- A key planet (Moon for mother, Sun for father, Jupiter for teacher/Brahmin, Mars for ruler, etc.) afflicted by two malefics simultaneously
| Planet Afflicted | Sapa Type |
|---|---|
| Jupiter | Brahmana Sapa |
| Sun | Raja Sapa (curse from king/authority) |
| Moon | Matru Sapa (curse related to mother) |
| Mars | (varies) |
When Atmakaraka is involved in a Sapa, the curse operates at the soul level — far deeper and harder to resolve than ordinary Sapas.
