🌌 Opening & Context {#opening}
[!NOTE] Class 71 was an informal, small session due to daylight saving time confusion — many students did not adjust their clocks. No projector was available. The discussion was free-form, Q&A driven.
- Speaker 2 = P.V.R. Narasimha Rao (teacher)
- The class picked up from a previous discussion about progressing Rahu-Ma (Madhya Arudha) in annual charts
🔮 Bhrigu Bindu — Trijagain Progression Research {#bhrigu-bindu}
What is Bhrigu Bindu?
Bhrigu Bindu (also called Bhru Bindu) is the midpoint of the Moon's longitude and Rahu's longitude in the natal chart.
- Moon = mind
- Rahu = what you project outward / desire
- Together: a sensitive focal point for timing events
Traditional usage: progress it by 3 degrees per year (or 1°/year — variants exist). When it conjuncts natal planets or sensitive points, events trigger.
The Trijagain Vimshottari Method (Pvr's Approach)
[!TIP] Rather than a fixed rate, PVR maps the annual Bhrigu Bindu progression non-linearly using a three-level Vimshottari-style progression within the annual Shudi Pravesha (Solar Return) chart.
Level 1 (Nakshatra / Mahadasha):
One zodiac year = 360°
Each nakshatra gets proportional span:
e.g., Ashwini (7 yrs / 120 yrs) → 7×3 = 21° of the year
Bharani (20 yrs / 120 yrs) → 20×3 = 60° of the year
Level 2 (Antardasha within nakshatra):
Nakshatra span is subdivided into 9 equal parts
(not variable KP-subs — equal 1/9 each)
Level 3 (Pratyantardasha within antardasha):
Each antardasha further divided into 9 equal parts
Formula for exact degree position:
Position within star = (Mahadasha parts done + Antardasha fraction + Pratyantara fraction) / 9 × nakshatra length (13°20')
Validation Examples
| Event | Year | Bhrigu Bindu conjuncted |
|---|---|---|
| First rank in IIT entrance exam | ~1987 | Fifth lord Mars (education/competition) |
| Moved abroad from India | (later year) | Opposite Saturn (4th lord, 4th house — foreign land) |
[!IMPORTANT] This technique is hit-or-miss: when it works, it gives the exact day. When it does not trigger, the technique simply does not apply to that event. Reliability requires combining with other techniques (transit, dasha).
Difference from KP Sub-system
| Feature | KP (Krishnamurti Paddhati) | PVR Trijagain |
|---|---|---|
| Sub-division | Variable (proportional to dasha years) | Equal 9ths within each nakshatra |
| 28th nakshatra | Uses Abhijit | Ignores — only 27 |
| Starting point | Moon | Bhrigu Bindu (Moon-Rahu midpoint) |
Other Midpoints Worth Progressing
- Lagna + Saturn midpoint
- Lagna + Sun midpoint
- Various Lagna-planet midpoints
[!NOTE] PVR found Sahamas (Arabic parts) less consistent than raw midpoints, but a student's variant of Sahama progression showed promise. The teacher plans to test it.
Bhrigu Bindu in jHora Software
In jHora: add a Special Point (SP) = midpoint of Moon and Rahu. Then start the Vimshottari Dasha from that SP using the Trivagain option.
💍 Multiple Marriages in Saptamsa — Sequential Relationships {#sequential-marriages}
[!IMPORTANT] Any serious committed relationship (not necessarily legal marriage) counts as a marriage in the chart. Even non-marital relationships that end count. Children conceived — even if aborted — show up in Saptamsa.
Core Principle: Sequential (Ended) Relationships
flowchart LR
R1["1st Relationship\n(7th house)"] --"ends"--> R2["2nd Relationship\n(8th from 7th = 2nd house)"]
R2 --"ends"--> R3["3rd Relationship\n(8th from 2nd = 9th house)"]
R3 --"ends"--> R4["4th Relationship\n(8th from 9th = 4th house)"]
Rule: Each subsequent sequential relationship = 8th from the previous sign.
| Relationship # | Sign (example: Cancer lagna) | Counting |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | Capricorn (7th house) | Fixed 7th |
| 2nd | Leo (2nd house) | 8th from Capricorn |
| 3rd | Pisces (9th house) | 8th from Leo |
| 4th | Libra (4th house) | 8th from Pisces |
Counting Children from a Given Relationship
- Identify the sign showing the marriage (e.g., 7th for 1st marriage)
- Determine if that sign is odd or even
- Odd sign → count 11th forward → first child
- Even sign → count 11th backward (= 3rd forward from sign) → first child
- Second child = 3rd from first child sign (odd/even again determines direction)
- Third child = 3rd from second child sign, etc.
Ketu in the child-chain = children from that particular relationship are over (not children overall).
Worked Example (Cancer Lagna, Saptamsa)
| Element | Sign | Reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| 1st Wife | Capricorn | 7th from Cancer |
| 1st Child from 1st Wife | Pisces | Capricorn = even → 11th backward = 3rd from Capricorn = Pisces |
| 2nd Wife (divorced) | Leo | 8th from Capricorn |
| 1st Child from 2nd Wife | Gemini | Leo = odd → 11th forward = Gemini |
| 3rd Wife (concurrent w/ 2nd) | — | See concurrent section |
| 3rd Wife (after 2nd divorced) | Pisces | 8th from Leo = Pisces |
| 1st Child from 3rd Wife | Taurus | Pisces = even → 11th backward = Taurus |
Pre-Marriage Abortions / Miscarriages
- Every conceived child appears in Saptamsa — including abortions and miscarriages
- If a house showing a child has Rahu affliction or Maraka involvement, that child may have been aborted/miscarried
- Lagna lord involvement: person themselves chose the abortion
- Spouse/7th lord involvement: the other partner drove the decision
- PVR's clinical practice: if chart shows an abortion, ask the client directly, even if they initially deny it
👑 Concurrent Wives (King's Rule) {#concurrent-marriages}
[!NOTE] When a second relationship begins while the first is still ongoing (polygamy / concurrent), use the 6th house forward count — not the 8th.
flowchart LR
W1["1st Wife\n7th house"] --"still alive\n6th forward"--> W2["2nd Wife\n12th house"]
W2 --"still alive\n6th forward"--> W3["3rd Wife\n5th house"]
W3 --"6th forward"--> W4["4th Wife\n10th house"]
| Wife # | Sign (Cancer lagna) |
|---|---|
| 1st | Capricorn (7th) |
| 2nd (concurrent) | Leo (12th — 6th from Capricorn, forward) |
| 3rd (concurrent) | Pisces (5th — 6th from Leo, forward) |
| 4th | Aquarius (8th — 6th from Pisces) |
[!WARNING] Mixed scenarios (some wives died, some divorced, some concurrent) create complex combinations with no definitive traditional ruling. PVR advises experimentation.
👶 Counting Children from Multiple Marriages {#counting-children}
Summary Table
| Child | Method |
|---|---|
| 1st child from 1st marriage | 11th from 7th house (direction by odd/even) |
| 2nd child from 1st marriage | 3rd from 1st child's sign (direction by sign) |
| 1st child from 2nd marriage | 11th from 2nd marriage sign (direction by sign) |
| 1st child from 3rd marriage | 11th from 3rd marriage sign (direction by sign) |
Key insight: The 5th house is the 11th from the 7th — this is why the 5th house in Saptamsa shows the first child of the first marriage in straightforward single-wife charts.
💍 Counting Marriages in Navamsa {#navamsa-marriages}
The same framework applies to Navamsa for marriage analysis (not just Saptamsa for children).
| Wife # | House in Navamsa |
|---|---|
| 1st | 7th |
| 2nd | 2nd |
| 3rd | 9th |
| 4th | 4th |
| 5th | 11th |
| 6th | 6th |
| 7th | 1st |
| 8th | 8th |
[!TIP] Even-numbered wives (2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th) fall on the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th houses — same number as the wife count. An interesting mathematical pattern.
Kumbha Vivah (kumbha vivāha): A ritual where a person "marries" a clay pot and breaks it, symbolically exhausting the weak first UL. Traditionally used when the first UL is weak and the second is strong. PVR notes documented cases where it functioned as intended.
👂👁️ Body-Part Significations: Hearing & Eyesight {#body-parts}
Hearing
flowchart LR
H3["3rd House\n(Ear — physical organ)"] --"9th from 3rd ="--> H11["11th House\n(Hearing function / dharma of ear)"]
| House | Signification |
|---|---|
| 3rd | Physical ear (size, shape) |
| 11th | Hearing capacity / function |
Rule: 3rd and 11th must be strong and harmoniously connected. Affliction to the 11th house (especially by malefics) = hearing problems.
Eyesight
flowchart LR
E2["2nd House\n(Eyes — physical organ)"] --"9th from 2nd ="--> E10["10th House\n(Vision / dharma of eyes)"]
| House | Signification |
|---|---|
| 2nd | Physical eyes; also right eye specifically |
| 12th | Left eye |
| 10th | Vision / sight function |
Rule: Affliction to the 10th house or 10th lord = vision problems. Saturn and/or Rahu aspecting the 10th house cusp tightly → weak eyesight / need for glasses.
PVR's own chart example:
- Lagna: Virgo; 10th house: Gemini at ~14°
- Saturn at ~16° Aries → 3rd aspect on 10th house cusp (close)
- Eyesight problems developed in Saturn Dasha

| Place | Pune, India |
| Coordinates | 73°52'E, 18°32'N |
Rasi Chart Key Planets
| Planet | Position | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Lagna | ~18°33' Pisces | |
| Saturn | ~2°46' Pisces (Lagna) | Yogakaraka (Taurus lagna in Dasamsa? debated) |
| Rahu | ~18°29' Aries (2nd house) | Almost exact conjunction with Lagna degree |
| Jupiter | Exalted, retrograde | Lagna lord; strong for fortune but needs effort |
| Moon | Debilitated (Scorpio) | With Saturn in 7th (Dasamsa) |
| Ketu | 8th house | Explosion/occult; conjunct 2nd lord Mars |
Dasamsa Analysis
[!NOTE] Dasamsa Lagna was on the border between Taurus and Aries (~18°33'). Class debated; Taurus Lagna was concluded to be more consistent with the native's career profile.
Arguments for Taurus Dasamsa Lagna:
- 2nd lord Mercury with Jupiter and Ketu → computer/software (Mercury-Ketu = computers)
- A5 (Arudha of 5th) in Scorpio: Moon + Saturn there → recognition exists but brings sadness / lack of satisfaction
- This matches native's complaint: "I work hard but feel unrecognized"
6th house (service) vs 7th house (business):
- Mars + Rahu in 6th → strong service orientation despite Mars's agenda for independence
- Moon debilitated in 7th with 10th lord Saturn → tension, unhappiness at work
- Saturn = Yogakaraka (9th+10th lord for Taurus lagna) in Dasamsa 7th → gives yoga but also struggle
Career Guidance
[!WARNING] Native asked about starting business. PVR's assessment: Rahu (service planet) follows Jupiter, and both Mars/Rahu ultimately reinforce service, not business. A brief self-employment phase is possible in Mars dasha but unlikely to flourish long-term. Better to remain in service.
Eye Problem Explanation
- Rahu at 18°29' Aries → 9th house aspect on 10th house cusp in Sagittarius at 18°33' — extremely close, "bull's-eye" aspect
- Saturn has a distant (border) 3rd-aspect on 10th
- Rahu is primary cause of eyesight problem, not Saturn
- Ketu in 8th with Mars (2nd lord) → explains a firecracker explosion injury to the right eye (physical, not vision-related)
- Right eye = 2nd house (Rahu in 2nd); left eye = 12th house
🪔 Remedies: Deity Selection by Planetary Combination {#remedies}
Framework
| Moon + Saturn combination in: | Recommended deity |
|---|---|
| Mars sign (Aries/Scorpio) | 🔱 Kali (fierce form) — read Ch.7 of Sandhi Path (Chamunda) |
| Saturn sign (Capricorn/Aquarius) | Kali — more Sattvic form |
| Jupiter sign (Sagittarius/Pisces) | Karana Kali (peaceful, ocean-crossing mother) or Tara / Saraswati |
[!TIP] Debilitated planets → female deity recommended in general.
For Manoj Wadekar: Moon-Saturn in Scorpio (Mars sign) → pray to Kali (Chamunda form, Sandhi Path chapter 7). Annual chart also has Moon-Saturn in 10th house → Shakti Yoga → same prescription reinforced.
Shakti Yoga
Moon + Saturn together, when both are strong → Shakti Yoga — enormous energy, ability to work through pain, insensitivity to obstacles. Saturn in Cancer with Cancer as 10th or Lagna = Simhasana Yoga (throne yoga — royal recognition).
Astrologer's Dharma (Spiritual Note)
[!IMPORTANT] "If you give readings thinking I am doing it from my knowledge, that is new karma. If you truly feel you are being driven by your Ishtadevata, and you are only an instrument, then no new karma accumulates. Even in the perfect mode, if you were to kill somebody, you would accumulate no karma." — PVR Narasimha Rao
Advice to astrologers: Kill the ego first. Leave outcomes to God. Some clients will be transformed by a single casual word you say — you may not even realize it.
📅 Annual Chart Analysis for Manoj (Year ~2006) {#annual-chart}
Annual Chart Start: January 17, 2006, 1:12:56 AM IST, Pune
| Period | Dasha Lord | Assessment |
|---|---|---|
| Until ~April 10 | Mercury | Terrible — 9th lord in 8th, exchange with 8th lord Sun; political machinations at workplace, boss not supportive |
| April 10 – May 16 | Saturn | Good — Yogakaraka, Lagna lord in Dasamsa; Simhasana Yoga; 6th from AL (enemy-vanquishing) |
| May 16 – July 21 | Jupiter | Excellent — 9th from AL (Rasi); 8th from AL (Dasamsa) = sudden rise; possible promotion/job change |
| July 21 – Sept 3 | Rahu | Excellent — 3rd house Rahu; 6th from AL |
| Sept 3 – Nov 16 | Venus | Very good — Yogakaraka (debilitated but retrograde = acts exalted) |
| Nov 16 – Dec 7 | Sun (Sandhya) | Caution — political machinations; do not react, let spark remain a spark |
[!WARNING] During November 16 – December 7: workplace politics likely. Native advised to remain uninvolved — non-reaction keeps it a small spark rather than a wildfire.
