🏛️ Muhurta Charts — The Candidacy as a Born Entity
When a public figure accepts a nomination or files for candidacy, a new entity is born at that moment. Its chart is the Muhurta chart of that candidacy.
[!IMPORTANT] The natal chart of a politician is often unreliable (intentionally hidden or multiple versions floated). The Muhurta chart — acceptance of nomination, oath of office, filing of papers — is publicly verifiable from media records and is highly reliable.
🔍 Key Differences: Muhurta vs. Natal Charts
| Feature | Natal Chart (Person) | Muhurta Chart (Event/Candidacy) |
|---|---|---|
| Subject | Physical human being | A venture, candidacy, or endeavour |
| Vargas used | All 16 (or more) | Only 6–7 (mundane set) |
| Divisional meanings | Standard (Dasamsa = career, etc.) | Different — do not import natal varga meanings |
| Dashas | Conditional & Vimshottari | Less certain; Rasi reading primary |
| House meanings | Standard | Same basic meanings apply |
[!NOTE] In mundane charts, Moon = the masses / public opinion. What Moon shows for an individual (mind), it shows for the entire society in a mundane chart.
♂ Lagna Lord in 8th — A Key Muhurta Warning
Never choose a Muhurta with the Lagna lord in the 8th house. Especially avoid Moon in the 8th house in any Muhurta — Moon's Maranakara Sthana is the 8th house; placing it there invites anxiety, tension, and failure of purpose.
Vajpayee's nomination Muhurta example: Cancer lagna, Moon (lagna lord) in 8th (Aquarius) → troubled term, inability to consolidate power.
🌌 Kerry vs. Bush Muhurta Analysis
☽ Kerry — Democratic Nomination (July 29, 2004, 10:21 PM, Boston)
- Lagna: Pisces — Lagna lord Jupiter in 6th house
- From 5th house (power/popularity): Jupiter is in the 2nd house = Maraka sthana from power
- Reading: Jupiter shows end of the pursuit of power, not attainment
- Verdict: Unfavourable Muhurta for winning
flowchart LR

B --> C["From 5th house (power):<br>Jupiter is in 2nd = Maraka"]
C --> D["Pursuit of power<br>will end / be cut short"]
☀️ Bush — Republican Nomination (September 2, 2004, 10:10 PM, NYC)
- Lagna: Aries — Lagna lord Mars in 5th house (Leo)
- 5th lord Sun in 5th house (Leo) — own sign
- Mars + Sun conjunction in 5th = Maharaja Yoga (Lagna lord + 5th lord in 5th)
- Distance: 4°8′ — within 6° orb → yoga is strong
- Sun is behind Mars → Sun will catch up → yoga will fructify in future
- Verdict: Strong Muhurta; excellent pursuit of power
[!IMPORTANT] Approaching conjunction rule (Mundane charts): If the faster planet is behind the slower one, the conjunction (and its yoga) will mature in future — auspicious. If the faster is ahead, the yoga is already past its peak.
⚠️ Problem Areas in Bush Muhurta
Lagna: Moon + Rahu conjunct in Aries (Lagna)
- Moon at 7°, Rahu at 10° → Moon approaching Rahu
- Moon being eclipsed = loss of public support imminent (first debate setback)
- But Lagna is at 25° — Moon will eventually cross Rahu and reach Lagna → public support returns
- Had Lagna been at 6°, eclipse would have been fatal
Rahu in Lagna = Badhaka lord for Aries (movable sign → 11th house Aquarius = Badhaka; rulers = Saturn + Rahu)
- Rahu as Badhaka lord in Lagna → inexplicable, unseen problems, pishacha-type obstacles
📊 Comparative Summary
| Factor | Kerry Muhurta | Bush Muhurta |
|---|---|---|
| Lagna lord placement | 6th (weak for power) | 5th (strong) |
| Power house (5th) | Afflicted | Sun + Mars Maharaja Yoga |
| Yoga type | Viparita (marginal) | Kshatriya Raja Yoga |
| Moon + masses | Not in Lagna | In Lagna (with Rahu — setback, then recovery) |
| Verdict | Unfavourable | Favourable overall |
🌀 Graha Malika Yoga
Definition: 4 or more consecutive signs (including Rahu & Ketu as planets) each occupied by at least one planet.
[!NOTE] This yoga is counted by occupants, not by lords. Include Rahu and Ketu among the 9 planets when checking.
In Bush Muhurta: Saturn → Venus sign → Lagna cluster → Jupiter → Ketu
- Seed planet (first): Saturn → hard work, ground-level operations, labour
- Culmination planet (last): Ketu → conservative agenda, religious fundamentalism, headless devotion
- Meaning: Power begins from hard grassroots work and culminates in advancing a conservative/religious agenda
- The Graha Malika Yoga is still unfolding — its full impact manifests across the entire term, not just at election

🐉 Kala Sarpa & Kala Amrita Yoga
Definitions
| Yoga | Configuration | Direction | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kala Sarpa | All planets between Ketu…Rahu (Ketu first, Rahu last going forward) | Towards Bhoga Marga | Setbacks; other yogas suppressed; person may turn scoundrel |
| Kala Amrita | All planets between Rahu…Ketu (Rahu first, Ketu last going forward) | Towards Moksha Marga | Setbacks until ~43–44; person becomes spiritual/saintly after |
[!IMPORTANT] Rahu puts the native on Bhoga Marga (path of worldly experience). Ketu puts the native on Moksha Marga (path of liberation). This is the essential distinction.
Breaking the Yoga
Different schools list different exceptions. Common ones:
- Planet in a Kendra (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) breaks the yoga
- Mahapurusha Yoga (exalted planet in Kendra) is a stronger exception
- Some say Lagna outside the hemmed span also mitigates
In Bush Muhurta: Near-Kala Amrita (almost all planets between Rahu–Ketu), but Moon is behind Rahu, not inside the span → yoga is not fully formed. As Moon moves toward Rahu, it will cross into the span — a transitional dynamic.
Duration of Effect
Both yogas exert full pressure until approximately age 43–44, after which the native can "break out." For Kala Amrita, this manifests as a spiritual transformation (like Valmiki).
Sarpa Yoga (distinct from Kala Sarpa)
Three malefics in Kendras (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th). Results:
- Constant setbacks: two steps forward, three back
- Person is curt, rude (under chronic pressure)
- Internally miserable even if outwardly successful
Mala Yoga (opposite): Three benefics in Kendras → garland of fortune; person is very lucky.
🎯 Yogada — The Planet That Powers Both Lagnas
Definition: A planet that has association (by ownership, occupation, or Rashi Drishti) with both the Lagna and the Ghatika Lagna.
[!NOTE] Association for Yogada is by Rashi Drishti only — not Graha Drishti. All jewel signs (movable/fixed/dual of the same type) aspect each other by Rashi Drishti.
Ghatika Lagna (GL)
A secondary Lagna that shows power and authority specifically. Reading the house GL occupies from Lagna:
| GL from Lagna | How power comes |
|---|---|
| 3rd | Through initiative and determination |
| 5th | Through popularity and following |
| 6th | Through hard work, overcoming obstacles |
| 7th | Through desire, relationships, networking |
| 8th | Unexpected; sudden setback → surprise rise |
| 10th | Through karma/achievement directly |
In Bush Muhurta: GL is in 8th house (Scorpio) from Lagna → power came unexpectedly after a crisis. Mars (Lagna lord, GL lord) is in the 10th from GL (Scorpio) → excellent from GL perspective.
Mars associates with Lagna (lords it) and with GL (lords it) → Mars = Yogada. Mars dasha gives power.
Mars as Yogada signifies: war, security, defense — his strongest political issues. Jupiter in 2nd from 5th (power) → Maraka from power house → economy is his weak topic.
🔮 Tithi Pravesh Chart — Bush 2004 Annual Analysis
Dasha system for Tithi Pravesh charts: Tithi Ashtottari Dasha
Key findings:
| Element | Analysis |
|---|---|
| Hora lord (Year ruler) | Mercury; participates in Raja Yoga (Lagna lord + 5th lord in Saptamka) → will not leave power this year |
| Current Dasha | Moon (Tithi Ashtottari) |
| Moon's placement | 8th lord in 10th house → roller coaster in career; ups and downs |
| Moon + Ghatika Lagna | Moon is in GL → confirms retaining power |
| Moon = Yogada | Moon aspects Lagna (Rashi Drishti) + occupies GL → Yogada confirmed |
| Mercury Dasha | Begins January; Mercury is Yogada; clear Raja Yoga giver in Dasamsa → stays in power |
| Mercury issue | Mercury = Badhakesha (dual sign Sagittarius → 7th house = Badhaka; lord Mercury) + in Badhaka sthana → inexplicable worries from conflicting ideologies (Sun + Saturn together) |
[!TIP] Dasamsa vs. Rasi in context: Dasamsa shows the environment of work — advisors, political environment, media, etc. Rasi shows what the person physically goes through — physical and mental stress, confusion, decisions. Both are interlinked but distinct.
Bush Jupiter Mahadasha (Visaptati Sama): April 2000 – April 2009
- Gajakesari Yoga (Moon + Jupiter within 1.5°, Moon = Lagna lord, Jupiter = 9th lord)
- Also a Kendra-Kona Raja Yoga
- Peak antardasha: Jupiter–Moon (Dec 2005 – Jan 2007) → "peak of presidency; something for which he will be remembered"
Jupiter in Maranakara Sthana (3rd house): Jupiter (peace, dharma, Pisces ideals) placed in 3rd (aggression, arms). He pursues noble goals through unnatural, aggressive means. Jupiter in Vahni Amsha → adds fire, forces Jupiter to act through the 3rd house even more.
📐 Al Gore 2008 Tithi Pravesh — Power Prospects
Birth: March 31, 1948, 12:53 PM, Washington D.C. 2008 Tithi Pravesh: March 29, 2008, 12:06 AM (Washington D.C.)
Key findings in the annual chart:
- Hora lord (Year ruler) = Jupiter
- Jupiter + Moon together → Gajakesari Yoga
- Lagna lord (Mars) + 5th lord (Jupiter) + 9th lord (Moon) all on the same axis (Mars at 15° between them in Saptamka)
- Three trine lords linked → Trinal Raja Yogas (Lagna–5th, Lagna–9th, 5th–9th)
- Chandra Mangala Yoga (Moon + Mars in Saptamka)
- Guru Mangala Yoga (Jupiter + Mars in Saptamka)
- All three planets associated with both Lagna and Ghatika Lagna → multiple Yogadas
[!IMPORTANT] When Hora lord is involved in a Raja Yoga, that yoga will definitely fructify during the year. If only Lagna lord is involved, it is likely but not certain.
Current dasha: Moon — strong dasha, Moon involved in Raja Yoga. Conclusion: ~99% chance of some form of power (president, VP, Secretary of State) in 2008 for Al Gore.
☽ Navamsa Spouse Reading — Hillary Clinton Chart
Data: October 26, 1947, 8 PM, Chicago (approximate; from AstroDataBank) Navamsa Lagna: Capricorn; 7th house (spouse's Lagna): Gemini
[!NOTE] Reading from the 7th house of Navamsa gives only high-level, vague information about the spouse. Do not attempt detailed predictions from this alone — it is a sanity check, not a full reading.
Reading Bill Clinton from Her 7th (Gemini as Spouse Lagna)
| House from Gemini | Planet | Reading |
|---|---|---|
| 1st (Lagna) | Mercury in Gemini | Learned, smart, eloquent, good orator |
| 7th | Sun (aspecting Lagna via Graha + Rashi) | Charismatic, like a magnet, full of light/energy |
| 2nd | Ketu | Very clear, direct speech (Vitiyes Prabhavata) |
| 3rd (Leo) | Moon (Shukla Paksha) | Cheerful, approach to initiative is gentle and lunar |
| 10th | Pisces → lord Jupiter | Career in law; Jupiter = attorney, priest, teacher |
| 10th + 9th | Saturn (9th lord) + Jupiter (10th lord) | Dharma Karma Adhipati Yoga → phenomenal rise |
Saturn in 10th (from Gemini): Dharma Karma Adhipati Yoga with Jupiter → president-level achievement.
Venus (5th + 12th lord from Gemini):
- In Vimshottari: Venus Dasha (1986–2006) covers husband's entire rise to power
- 5th lord in 5th = able to confer power; 12th lord in 12th = Vimala Yoga
Three Viparita Raja Yoga Types
| Yoga | Condition | Quality |
|---|---|---|
| Harsha Yoga | 6th lord in 6th house | Person always cheerful; overcomes enemies easily |
| Sarala Yoga | 8th lord in 8th house | Person is very straightforward; achieves despite obstacles |
| Vimala Yoga | 12th lord in 12th house | Pure conduct; good at managing losses and expenditure |
[!TIP] Dharma Karma Adhipati Yoga: Any conjunction of the 9th lord and 10th lord. Can occur in any house — good anywhere, but best in Kendras. Always counted from Lagna (not Moon).

Budhaditya Yoga (Sun + Mercury Conjunction)
- Also called Nipuna Yoga
- Results: highly learned, capable, intelligent
- Very common in Rasi chart (nearly 50% of people) → apply weight to Dasamsa or Siddhamsha (D-24) for meaningful use
- In Dasamsa: If Sun + Mercury conjunct → genuine Nipuna Yoga for career intelligence
- PVR's view: maximum effect when they are very close (even combust)
- Mercury close to Sun = learning ability fused with soul → either overwhelmed or transforms into deep learning
Planetary Karakas — Political / Party Affiliation (USA)
| Party | Planet | Colour | Symbol |
|---|---|---|---|
| Democrats | Saturn | Blue | Donkey (Saturn's animal) |
| Republicans | Jupiter + Mars | Red | Elephant (Jupiter's animal) |
Karaka Relationships and Alignment
When two Karakas are in trines from each other → relationship functions naturally and effortlessly. In Kendras → works but requires effort. In Shadaustaka (6–8 or 2–12) → karakas cannot align; no natural cooperation.
Atmakaraka + Darakaraka in trines (Navamsa) → soulmates; natural affinity. Atmakaraka + Gnatikaraka (enemy) in trines → enmity is also natural, effortless, bountiful.
