- Annual chart date: April 4, 1994, approximately 22:50:46 PM (local)
- Annual chart Lagna: D4 Lagna = ~6° Leo (2nd navamsa of Leo = Taurus = Venus navamsa)
Key Event
- Date: November 9–10, 1994
- Event: Left India, traveled to Korea (first international trip; left after being in India for one year)
- Significance: A major transition — leaving the country to work abroad. PVR describes it as a very lucky, exciting event.
Analysis
Chaturthamsa (D4) — the chart for residence and travel
D4 Lagna: Leo (~6°, in Taurus navamsa = Venus navamsa)
Relevant houses for going abroad: 7th (Rahu — Karaka for foreign), 9th (Mars — 9th lord), 12th (Moon — twelfth lord)
Key planets for foreign travel:
- Mars: 9th lord in a watery sign (Scorpio), with Rahu. Mars is the 4th and 9th lord from Leo. He is with Rahu (7th lord), aspecting the other 7th lord Saturn. He is Yogakaraka (4th + 9th lord for Leo = Yogakaraka). Mars has connections to 7th, 9th, and 12th lords and Badhaka from all references.
- Moon: 12th lord in 9th house. Slightly benefic, in Aries with Jupiter (Gajakesari).
Dasha selection analysis
From Lagna (Leo): None of the standard conditions apply:
- Lagna not Vargottama
- Lagna lord not in 7th
- 7th lord not in Lagna
- 10th lord not in 10th
- Lagna in Sun Hora (first half of Leo = Sun Hora), Krishna Paksha → Vimshottari from Ardra (Jamadagnya variant)
Ardra-start Vimshottari: Venus Dasha in September–November 1994. Venus = 10th lord + 3rd lord for Leo = rank malefic. In 12th house. No link to 9th house. Does not explain going abroad as a lucky event.
Regular Vimshottari (if applicable): Jupiter Dasha. Jupiter = 5th lord + 8th lord. Better than Venus, can be explained, but 8th lord connection means "going back to native country" more likely. Not ideal.
Dwadashottari Dasha (condition: Lagna in Venus navamsa): D4 Lagna at 6° Leo = Taurus navamsa → Dwadashottari applies. Saturn Dasha: September 30 – November 30, 1994. Saturn = 6th and 7th lord, aspects 9th lord Mars. Timing matches Korea trip. However, Saturn as 6th lord is not ideal for an exciting, positive event.
Sadaya Dasha from Chandra Lagna (Rule 81.1): Moon is at ~3° Aries (1st navamsa of Aries = Aries navamsa = Vargottama from Chandra Lagna). Applying the Sadaya Dasha condition from Chandra Lagna: Sadaya Dasha applies.
Mars Dasha in Sadaya: Mars Dasha coincides with November 1994. Mars = Yogakaraka (4th + 9th lord for Leo) with Rahu (7th lord), aspecting Saturn (7th lord from another perspective). Mars is in a watery sign. He is in Badhaka sthana. He has connections to ALL four relevant houses (7th, 9th, 12th, Badhaka) from multiple references. Mars being Yogakaraka explains why the event was experienced as lucky and exciting.
Conclusion
Out of all the dasha methods tested, Sadaya Dasha from Chandra Lagna gave Mars Dasha for November 1994 — the most convincing explanation. This example demonstrated:
- The principle of checking conditional dasha conditions from Chandra Lagna (Rule 81.1)
- Moon Vargottama from Chandra Lagna can trigger Sadaya Dasha even when Lagna itself is not Vargottama
- The Dwadashottari also had some merit (Saturn timing was correct) but Saturn's quality as 6th lord was less convincing for the nature of the event
