By applying AL, A5, F5, UL, and other Arudha Padas within D10, D20, and D9, far more precise and consistent explanations emerge for career, fame, spiritual progress, and marriage than classical Parashari logic alone provides. This class demonstrates the method on Swami Vivekananda's chart and a live marriage case.

🌌 New Approach: Arudha Padas in Divisional Charts

[!IMPORTANT] The core teaching of this class: Arudha Padas are computed and interpreted within each divisional chart, treating that divisional chart as the Rashi chart for that domain of life. This is a more rigorous and consistent application than was done in earlier sessions.

What Changed and Why

Previously, the approach to divisional charts relied on functional benefic/malefic analysis and planetary ownership, but the logic was inconsistent — a planet was called benefic in one context and malefic in another. The new method adds:

1. Compute Arudha Padas (AL, A5, F5, UL, A6, A8, A9, etc.) within the divisional chart
2. Assess planets relative to those Arudha Padas (2nd, 11th strengthen; 12th gives away; 8th destroys)
3. Combine with functional benefic/malefic analysis from Lagna

🔭 Case Study — Swami Vivekananda's D10 (Career & Fame)

Birth data: 12 January 1863, 06:33 AM, Local Mean Time (5h54m east of GMT) Place: 88°30'E, 20°40'N (Kolkata) Lagna: Cancer (not Capricorn — confirmed by personality, physical appearance, and life pattern) Key event: World Parliament of Religions, Chicago, September 1893 → sudden world fame

[!NOTE] Some scholars take Capricorn lagna using IST (standard time) rather than LMT. PVR confirms Cancer lagna by observing Vivekananda's facial features, physique, and life story.

D10 (Dasamsa) Analysis for Fame

D10 Lagna: ~70° Leo (second half of male sign = Chandra Hora)

Gajakesari Yoga in D10

• Venus and Jupiter within ~3° — very close 10th lord + 5th lord Raja Yoga
• Moon also in the same sign — powerful Gajakesari Yoga
• All three functional benefics

Arudha Pada Analysis in D10

[!IMPORTANT] AL and F5 are within 2° of each other in D10 — a rare and powerful combination. When AL and F5 are conjunct, the chart virtually guarantees exceptional public fame through career.

The Moon-Venus-Jupiter combination is in Scorpio, which is the 2nd house from Capricorn (AL/F5 region). Planets in the 2nd from any Arudha nourish and feed that Arudha. The Raja Yoga thus directly feeds AL and F5.

Additionally, the 6th and 10th lords form a Raja Yoga in conjunction with this Gajakesari — from Lagna this gives a Raja Yoga (6th lord + 10th lord together = fame through overcoming service/enemies). Gajakesari itself has classical authority for making a person world-famous.

Why Ketu Dasha Gave Fame

Shodashottari Dasha applies (Chandra Hora, Krishna Paksha — see rules section below).

Ketu Dasha (1888–1903) gave world fame. Why?

1. Ketu is the co-lord of Scorpio — and thereby the dispositor of Moon, Venus, Jupiter (the entire Raja Yoga)
2. Ketu is the stronger lord of Scorpio (Mars and Ketu co-own; Ketu is more prominent here)
3. Ketu is the dispositor of AL and F5 (since AL and F5 are in Capricorn, owned by Saturn; but the planets feeding them are in Scorpio whose dispositor is Ketu)
4. Ketu's D10 longitude: ~2.5° Virgo — sitting in the 11th house from AL/F5 (Capricorn)

Parashara: Any planet in the 11th house from any Arudha gives excellent results for that Arudha — it promotes the tangible reality of that Arudha maximally.

Ketu = dispositor of Raja Yoga + in 11th from AL/F5 = sudden, explosive worldwide fame in Ketu Dasha

🙏 Vivekananda's D20 (Spiritual Life)

D20 Lagna: ~4° Capricorn → Even sign, first half = Chandra Hora; birth chart is Krishna Paksha → Shodashottari Dasha applies

Atmakaraka and Ishta Devata (D20)

Vivekananda's personal deity was Ma Kali — consistent with Rahu (co-lord of Aquarius) in a martial sign in D20.

Moon Dasha (1878–1884) → Meeting Ramakrishna

Moon in D20: 7th house, Cancer-owned, Moon is the 7th lord.

• Moon Dasha (Shodashottari of D20): ~1878–1884
• Within Moon Maha, Jupiter Antardasha coincides with meeting Ramakrishna

Why Jupiter Antardasha gave the guru:

• Jupiter is exalted in the 9th house of D20 → guru-related house
• He gives Hamsa Mahapurusha Yoga in a kendra/trine
• He is the karaka for guru
• Moon Mahadasha = 9th lord → interactions on dharmic/karmic matters
• Jupiter Antardasha = planet exalted in the 9th house

[!NOTE] Jupiter is a functional malefic (owns a quadrant for this lagna), but being the karaka for guru and exalted in the 9th, his antardasha within the 9th-lord Moon Maha clearly brought the guru.

Mercury Dasha (1884–1885) → Death of Guru (Ramakrishna, Aug 16, 1885)

Why Mercury gave loss of guru:

• Mercury is the 4th and 3rd lord in D20
• From A9 (Arudha of 9th house = tangible guru) taken as Lagna in D20:
  • Mercury is in the 8th house from A9 → functional malefic destroying the longevity of the guru
  • Venus is a functional malefic from A9 in the 3rd house
  • Two functional malefics in 3rd and 8th from A9 → end of physical guru relationship

📜 Dasha Selection Rules (Lomasa Maharshi)

Hora of Lagna:

• Odd sign (male): 1st half = Surya Hora, 2nd half = Chandra Hora
• Even sign (female): 1st half = Chandra Hora, 2nd half = Surya Hora

[!NOTE] Parashara gave the two conditions for Shodashottari but did not specify Vimshottari variants. Lomasa Maharshi made Vimshottari and Shodashottari mutually exclusive and gave the two Vimshottari variants (standard vs. from Ardra). The class follows Lomasa's teaching.

Navamsa Vargottama check: To see if Lagna is Vargottama in a divisional chart, treat the divisional chart as Rashi and find its D9 (D of D). The Lagna degree must fall in the same sign in both the division and its own Navamsa subdivision for Vargottama to hold.

💍 Vivekananda's Navamsa — Why No Marriage?

Two conflicting signals:

Ketu in UL → Ketu as UL's co-lord could give giving of self in dharmic acts → suggests marriage/partnership in Dharma.

7th house with two barren functional malefics → strong denial of conventional marriage.

Resolution: Upapada and Navamsa are about Dharma, not merely sex or marriage. Ketu in UL with Sun (UL lord) in trine, in Aries (sign of Dharma) — this Upapada manifested as giving of spiritual knowledge to thousands of disciples, not a conventional marriage. The UL gave enormous dharmic giving — just not in the form of a wife.

"Navamsa is not the chart of sex. It's the chart of Dharma. Marriage is a dharmic act, but it is not the only dharmic act."

Rashi Chart Overview

Navamsa (D9) Analysis

Lagna in D9: Initially noted as ~8h07m PM → rectified to ~8h04 PM → Lagna becomes ~20° Libra (Virgo Navamsa of Libra = 1st part of Libra)

When Lagna is in the first 1/8th of Libra, Saptamsha Dasha (Chaturthamsha Dasha) applies because the 7th lord is virtually in Lagna position — but the clearest condition is: Lagna near Virgo-Libra cusp → use Chaturdasha Dasha (PVR's preferred nomenclature here is Chaturthamsha Dasha).

After testing multiple dashas, the working dasha selected: Chaturthamsha Dasha of D9 with rectified time.

Event Verification (Chaturthamsha Dasha, D9)

Saturn Dasha gave both marriage and separation — explained by:

• Saturn is Yogakaraka AND UL lord → can give marriage
• Saturn is in 8th house → anxiety, turbulence, ups and downs in marriage
• Saturn is in 12th from A8 (Mrityu Pada) → enhances A8 (Parashara: Saturn in 12th from Arudha = Raja Yoga for that Arudha → promotes the reality of A8 which is "death/ending")
• Saturn-Mercury combination: 8th lord from UL and 12th lord from UL together → giving and destruction of UL

Ketu Dasha (Shodashottari of D9 — 2007 Annual chart) gave separation:

The annual chart (Sarva chart) for 2007–2008 shows D9 applying regular Vimshottari (Chandra Hora, Shukla Paksha) → Ketu Dasha ran Mar 21 – Apr 12, 2008.

Why Ketu gave separation in that year's D9:

1. Ketu is on the 2nd/8th axis (Saturn, Mars, Rahu in 8th house)
2. Ketu is co-owner of A8 (since Mars and Ketu co-own Scorpio, and A8 is in Scorpio)
3. A8's lord (Ketu) is in the 11th house from A8 → eleventh from any Arudha maximally promotes that Arudha. A8 = ending/Mrityu. So A8 is maximally promoted → event of ending (separation) materializes.

📊 Arudha Pada Principles for Marriage

Parashara's planetary positions relative to Arudha:

[!WARNING] When the lord of an Arudha is in the 11th house from that same Arudha, the effect is maximized — positively for constructive Arudhas (AL, UL, A9) and negatively/destructively for Arudhas representing harmful events (A8, A6).

On Mars in/near UL: Mars near UL shows haste in marriage-related events — marriage can happen suddenly, or break suddenly. Indicates hasty decisions in matrimonial matters.

On Saturn near A8 and UL (eighth-related combinations): Saturn-Mercury in 8th house: 8th lord (Mercury) conjunct Saturn. From UL, these are the 8th lord and 12th lord — both being giving away/destruction of UL. Marriage turbulence is indicated even when Saturn is Yogakaraka.

Remedy: Worship Venkateshwara (Vishnu) and Padmavati (Lakshmi) — especially when Saturn-Mercury combination is present in a benefic sign. Chant Lakshmi Ashtottaram followed by Vishnu Ashtottaram (repeat cycle) — this strengthens the Saturn-Venus-Mercury Raja Yoga in Navamsa and helps dissolve marital karma.

📅 Annual Tajika Charts for Marriage Timing

2010–2011 Annual Chart (D9) — Assessment: Marriage Unlikely

Lagna on a sandhya (cusp) — Lagna in D9 could be late Sagittarius or early Capricorn. Any chart cast at a cusp degree cannot be confidently interpreted for house-level analysis. Prediction: no clear window this year (using natal Dasha alone).

2011–2012 Annual D9 Chart — Key Features

Lagna: ~5° Pisces (Cancer Gandanta in Rashi, but D9 Lagna is interpretable)

• Jupiter, Mercury, Venus together in Lagna (D9 of 2012 chart)
  • Jupiter = Lagna lord
  • Mercury = 7th lord
  • Venus = Karaka for marriage
  • All three in Lagna = extraordinary configuration

UL in D9 of 2012 chart: ~10° Cancer

• Lagna planets are in the 9th house from UL → 9th from UL = protects and promotes UL
• UL lord (Moon) is conjunct UL itself (in Cancer) — maximally powerful UL

[!TIP] When UL lord is conjunct UL, and the 7th lord and karaka for marriage are together in the 9th from UL with the Lagna lord — this is one of the strongest configurations for marriage in an annual chart.

Dasha in 2012 annual D9: Shodashottari (Krishna Paksha, Chandra Hora)

Overall Prediction: Strong chance of second marriage in Aug–Sep 2012 (Jupiter Dasha), with an additional window Dec 2012–Mar 2013 (Mercury Dasha). Current year (2011) shows some chance in Moon Antardasha (natal Dasha), but the 2012 annual chart is far more decisive.

Atmakaraka and Darakaraka Interaction

• Atmakaraka: Jupiter at 27°17'
• Darakaraka: Sun at 0°11'
• Jupiter in Pisces / Sun in Virgo in D9 → mutual Shashtashtaka (6/8 relationship)
• Very close in longitude (within ~4°) → extremely tight 6/8 affliction at soul level

This suggests a fundamental karmic difficulty in marriage at the soul level. Remedy: consistent Vishnu/Lakshmi worship is not optional — it directly addresses this karmic pattern.
