🔮 Parivrajak Yoga — The Renunciate Yoga {#parivrajak-yoga}

Definition

Parivrajak Yoga (also called Samrajya Yoga): Moon in a Navamsa (Amsha) of Mars, AND Moon is associated with or aspected by Saturn in the Rashi chart.

Moon in Mars's Navamsa (Aries/Scorpio Navamsa)
  PLUS
Saturn conjunct or aspecting Moon in Rashi
  =
Parivrajak Yoga → genuine renunciate

[!IMPORTANT] Without Parivrajak Yoga, someone may appear to be a Sanyasi but is not genuinely one. This yoga is the astrological signature of authentic renunciation.

In Swami Jayendra Saraswati's Chart

  • Saturn and Moon are conjunct in Aquarius (Saturn's own sign — very strong)
  • Moon is in a Mars Navamsa (Amsha)
  • This is Parivrajak Yoga of the highest order: sign involved is Saturn's own sign, not Venus or Mars sign

The Parivrajak Yoga is not just present — it is very complete. The sign strengthens the yoga enormously. This definitively confirms he is a genuine Sanyasi.

♄ Saturn's Dual Role: Parivrajak + Raja Yoga {#saturn-dual-role}

The same Saturn that gives Parivrajak Yoga simultaneously creates a Raja Yoga via Arudha Lagna.

Saturn's Position Effect
In Arudha Lagna Seen as a renunciate (great for sanyasi)
In 2nd from AL Seen as following renunciation — very strong image of giving up
In 12th from AL Seen as rejecting renunciation; some people think "fake sanyasi"

For Saturn and Rahu, placement in the 12th from Arudha Lagna constitutes a Raja Yoga (for materialistic power matters). For Jupiter and Mercury, the 2nd from AL is the Raja Yoga position.

Unfortunate result: Because Saturn is in the 12th from his Arudha Lagna, some people perceive him as not being a genuine sanyasi — as though he secretly craves power and political connections. This perception is astrologically explained, even though the inner reality (from Lagna) is the opposite.

🌌 Jayalalitha's Chart {#jayalalitha-chart}

📊 Birth Data

Field Value
Date February 24, 1948
Time 2:36:20 PM IST (PVR's rectification)
Place Karnataka (not Madras as in some books)
Longitude/Latitude 80°E18′, 30°N05′ (approximate)

[!WARNING] There is a rectification controversy. PVR uses 2:36:20 PM; Sanjay Rath uses 2:34 PM. These give different Dasamsa Lagnas (PVR: Capricorn / Makara; Sanjay: Sagittarius). PVR strongly argues for Capricorn based on event verification.

📊 Mahapurusha Yogas — Priority Rules {#mahapurusha-yogas}

The Five Mahapurusha Yogas

Planet Yoga Name Result
Jupiter (in Kendra in own/MT/exaltation) Hamsa Yoga Diplomacy, politeness, respecting everyone
Venus Malavya Yoga Directness, artistic mastery, passing judgments
Mercury Bhadra Yoga Scholarly communication, intelligence
Mars Ruchaka Yoga Courage, leadership, physical prowess
Saturn Shasha Yoga Discipline, endurance, authority

Priority Rules When Multiple Yogas Exist

  1. Trikona placement first: Planets in Dharma Trikona (1, 5, 9) outrank those in Artha (2, 6, 10), Kama (3, 7, 11), or Moksha (4, 8, 12) trikonas
  2. Exaltation > Moola Trikona > Own Sign (secondary to trikona rule)

[!TIP] Natural order of importance: Dharma → Artha → Kama → Moksha. A Mahapurusha Yoga in a Dharma Trikona always outranks one in Artha Trikona, regardless of exaltation.

K.N. Rao Example

  • K.N. Rao has Malavya Yoga (Venus in Lagna/Dharma Trikona, Moola Trikona) AND Hamsa Yoga (Jupiter in 10th/Artha Trikona, exaltation)
  • Dharma Trikona rule: Malavya Yoga dominates
  • Behavior: Very direct, judgmental, does not mince words — classic Venus/Malavya personality

Jayalalitha's Case

  • Venus exalted in 10th (Artha Trikona) → Malavya Yoga
  • Jupiter in 7th (Kama Trikona) in Moola Trikona → Hamsa Yoga
  • Venus is exalted AND in Dharma TrikonaMalavya Yoga clearly dominates

💡 Hamsa vs Malavya: Personality Contrast {#hamsa-vs-malavya}

[!NOTE] Common misconception: Venus is often called the planet of diplomacy in modern literature. This is incorrect. Venus is NOT a diplomat.

Hamsa (Jupiter) Malavya (Venus)
Diplomatic, doesn't want to hurt anyone Direct, passes judgment, says what they feel
Respectful, courteous Can be blunt, unemotional, detached
Respects others' feelings Does not worry about others' emotional reactions
"I'll tell them what they want to hear" "I'll tell you what I honestly think"

Venus = Kavi (poet), but not a diplomat. He's always sincere. He will do tapasya for 1000 years and come back — whatever he feels, he says directly.

Jupiter = Diplomat: because he doesn't want to hurt anyone, he says what people want to hear.

K.N. Rao came to the US, met many astrologers, and wrote a book that hurt so many people — cutting relations with one published work. True to Malavya Yoga dominance.

Marriage Indicator in Jayalalitha's Navamsa

  • 7th house in Navamsa has: 6th lord → not good for marriage
  • Saturn aspects both Lagna and 7th house in Navamsa
  • Mercury is in 7th house in Navamsa

[!WARNING] Classical dictum: If Mercury or Saturn associate with the 7th house or Lagna in Navamsa, there may be homosexual tendencies. This must be verified carefully with multiple factors and not rashly applied. Here both conditions are present. However, Mars and Jupiter in Lagna (very virile planets) suggest both heterosexual and homosexual tendencies are possible.

📊 Dasamsa Analysis — Career and Power {#dasamsa-career}

Lagna in Dasamsa

  • PVR believes Dasamsa Lagna = Capricorn (Makara); Ghatika Lagna = Aries (Mesha) in Dasamsa

Career Indicators

  • Moon in 10th house of Dasamsa → entertainment / political career
  • Venus (10th lord) prominently placed → entertainment (Malavya)
  • Sun in 5th house of Dasamsa → power; doing anything for power

Amsha of Key Planets

  • Moon and Venus: Yama Amsha → beautiful, cooperative, easy to work with
  • Sun in Dasamsa: Niriti Amsha (direction of Rahu; illegal/adharmic activities)

[!WARNING] Sun in Niriti Amsha as 8th lord in the house of power (5th) = "This woman can do anything for power. She will engage in adharmic activities to maintain or acquire power."

🌀 Bhoga and Paaka Method for Antardasha {#bhoga-paaka}

The Rule

From the Mahadasha lord, count signs to the Antardasha lord — call this count N. Then count N signs from the Antardasha lord. That sign is the Bhoga (what you experience).

The house where the Antardasha lord itself is placed = Paaka (what you are cooking/working on).

flowchart LR
    A["Mahadasha Lord"] -->|count N signs| B["Antardasha Lord = Paaka house"]
    B -->|count same N signs again| C["Bhoga House (what you experience)"]

Examples in Rahu Mahadasha (Jayalalitha's Dasamsa)

Antardasha Bhoga House Result
Saturn 10th house Rise to power; exercises authority
Mercury 4th house (with Ghatika Lagna) Exercises power; feels "I have authority"
Ketu 12th house Losses
Venus 7th house Losses

[!TIP] When Bhoga falls in the 10th house or has Ghatika Lagna, the person experiences and exercises power during that Antardasha.

⚡ Yogada — Connecting Lagna and Ghatika Lagna {#yogada}

Definition

A planet becomes a Yogada for power matters when it:

  • Occupies, owns, OR aspects (Rashi Drishti) both Lagna AND Ghatika Lagna

Ghatika Lagna = "exercising authority / showing influence." It represents the potential power that you actually exercise (not just possessing power, but wielding it).

Saturn as Yogada in Jayalalitha's Chart

  • Saturn owns Lagna (Capricorn)
  • Saturn aspects Lagna by Graha Drishti and Rashi Drishti
  • Saturn aspects Ghatika Lagna (Aries) by Rashi Drishti → Saturn is a Yogada

[!NOTE] Ghatika Lagna moves very fast — 5× faster than Lagna. It changes roughly every 2 minutes in Navamsa. Rectification is needed to fix it accurately.

Ghatika Lagna for Money (Kara Lagna)

A planet connecting Lagna AND Kara Lagna becomes a Yogada for money matters.

📅 Tithi Pravesh Chart — Annual Prediction {#tithi-pravesh}

Annual Charts for Different Years

2004 (Rahu-Mercury running):

  • Hora lord: Moon (in 12th house of Dasamsa with Jupiter)
  • Mercury Antardasha Bhoga: 4th house — exercises power
  • Ghatika Lagna in 4th: "I have authority" feeling
  • Prediction: She retains power; exercises authority comfortably

2005:

  • Hora lord: Jupiter (5th lord, debilitated but retrograde in Dasamsa → good)
  • Retrogradation + debilitation = equivalent to exaltation
  • Lagna lord Sun in 10th house
  • Prediction: She still retains power

2006:

  • Hora lord: Saturn (Yogakaraka, 9th + 10th lord, but with Jupiter 8th lord)
  • 5th lord Mercury in 6th house (poor for power retention)
  • Moon (masses) in 12th from Lagna / 8th from 5th house
  • Ketu in Lagna of annual Rashi chart = major setback
  • Prediction: Significant probability of losing power in 2006

PVR correctly predicts (made while she is still in power) that 2006 will likely see Jayalalitha lose power. She did lose the 2006 Tamil Nadu elections.

[!NOTE] K.N. Rao predicted her government would fall in December 2003/January 2004. PVR's analysis of the Tithi Pravesh chart disagrees — and the class concludes she retains power through 2005.

📊 Student Chart — Buddu Venkateswar Rao {#buddu-chart}

Birth Data

Field Value
Date July 7, 1968
Time 6:30 PM IST
Place Guntur, India
Longitude 80°E27′
Latitude 16°N18′

Conditional Dasha Selection

  • Lagna lord in 7th? No → Vimshottari Sama Dasha doesn't apply
  • Sun in Lagna? No
  • Lagna in Vargottama? No
  • Standard Vimshottari Dasha applies

Lagna Strength

  • Planets in Kendras from Moon: 1
  • Planets in Kendras from Lagna: 6
  • Lagna strongly dominant → Use Lagna Vimshottari

Marriage Verification (February 19, 1994)

  • Lagna Vimshottari: Moon Dasha, Venus Antardasha
  • Venus is 7th lord from Moon in Dasamsa (Antardasha lord = karaka)
  • Moon is 7th lord's dispositor (rules the house where 7th lord Jupiter is placed)
  • Bhoga in Moon Dasha, Venus Antardasha = 5th house from both Rashi and Navamsa = Upada Lagna present in Bhoga sign in Rashi chart

Verification is highly consistent — Navamsa Lagna appears accurate.

📊 Conditional Dashas — Quick Reference {#conditional-dashas}

Dasha Condition for Applicability
Vimshottari Sama (72-year) Lagna lord in 7th OR 7th lord in Lagna
Chaturasri Sama (84-year) 10th lord in 10th house
Shatabdi Dasha Lagna in Vargottama
Sashtiyanyi (60-year) Sun in Lagna
Dwadashottari Lagna in Venusian Amsha (Navamsa owned by Venus)

[!TIP] When a conditional dasha applies, use it in preference to standard Vimshottari. These give clearer results for the specific area they govern.
