When Multiple Conditional Daśās Apply

When more than one special daśā is applicable, use these criteria to select the primary one:

[!NOTE] For a Lagna in any rāśi, only 9 Navāṃśa positions are possible (not all 12). Hence Vargottama probability = 1/9. Śaṣṭhiyāyinī requires Sun specifically in Lagna = 1/12. Since Śaṣṭhiyāyinī has lower probability and fewer years (60) vs Śatābdī (100), Śatābdī is generally preferred by both criteria.

[!TIP] Multiple daśās are like different windows into the same room — one may be clean (clear events), others hazy (events visible but less precise). Don't discard a daśā just because another explains events better. All are simultaneously active.

[!IMPORTANT] Moon in the 9th house is afflicted by Rahu (12th lord) and Venus (8th lord). Moon's agenda = emotional stability via 9th-house resources (boss, guidance). Both dusthāna lords eclipse this, so every boss becomes a source of distress. This is a lifelong pattern, not just current Daśā.

2. Relocating to India: Moon = 5th lord in Caturthāṃśa (D-4) = motherland yearning. But Rahu (8th lord, 12th lord in D-4) destroys the plan. Jupiter (Bādhaka) + Ketu (9th lord) + Mercury (9th-house depositor) all point to staying abroad
3. Vehicle Accidents: (see below)

Vehicle Analysis — Ṣoḍaśāṃśa (D-16)

Daśā for accident: Sun–Venus (Mahā–Antara), Mars Pratyantar → Mars = Kāraka for accidents in 8th house

[!WARNING] Saturn–Mars combination in any dusthāna is called an "evil yoga" — two natural malefics of opposing temperaments (hot fire + cold air) destroy the house they occupy.

Litigation Analysis — Ṣaṣṭhāṃśa (D-6)

Predicted outcome: Case most likely settles in Mercury Antardaśā (~Aug 2009 onward) with favorable terms. June–July period has some chance under Moon Antardaśā but unlikely.

Relocation Prognosis (D-4 Caturthāṃśa)

Relocation Potential (D-4 Caturthāṃśa)

Mercury in Bāgasthāna (7th = change/break) + 8th lord + dispositor of 12th lord Mars → change of place during Mercury period quite possible. Both Rāśi and D-4 confirm potential relocation in Mercury Daśā (~late July 2009 onward).

Career Prognosis — Mercury Mahādaśā (17 years)

Spiritual Prognosis: Mercury Daśā = prime period for astrology learning, spiritual sādhana. Already doing Satyanārāyaṇa Vrata monthly — this continues to deepen.

Verse 103 — 9th Lord in 7th House (Bhāgyeśa Dārabhāvasthe)

Bhāgyeśe dārabhāvasthe dārāyogāt sukhodayaḥ. Guṇavān kīrtimāścāpi jāyate dvijasaptamaḥ.

[!TIP] When 9th lord is in 7th, marriage itself becomes the key to fortune. Life improves measurably after marriage.

Verse 104 — 9th Lord in 8th House (Bhāgyeśa Mṛtyu Bhāvasthe)

Bhāgyeśe mṛtyu bhāvasthe bhāgyahīno naro bhavet. [bhāgya-hīnaḥ, jyeṣṭha bhāgya sukhātmakam]

[!NOTE] Bhāvat bhāvam: To judge any house H, also analyze the Hth house from H. For siblings (11th), the 11th from 11th = 9th house. Lord in 8th = setbacks regarding siblings.

Verse 105 — 9th Lord in 9th House (Bhāgyeśa Bhāgyabhāvasthe)

[!TIP] Trine lord in its own trine is one of the most auspicious combinations in Parāśara's system.

Verse 106 — 9th Lord in 10th House (Bhāgyeśa Karma Bhāvasthe)

Bhāgyeśe karma bhāvasthe jāto rāja tata samaḥ. Mantrī senāpatirvāti guṇavān jana pūjitaḥ.

[!NOTE] This is arguably the strongest placement — 9th lord forms a Dharma–Karma axis linking the most important trine (9th) to the most important quadrant (10th).

Verse 107 — 9th Lord in 11th House (Bhāgyeśa Lābha Bhāvasthe)

Bhāgyeśe lābha bhāvasthe dhana lābho dine dine. Bhakto gurujānānaṃ ca guṇavān puṇyavānati.

[!TIP] "Devoted to guru" here means actively doing things the guru asks — not mere reverence. The 3rd-house position (initiative/action) is key.

Verse 108 — 9th Lord in 12th House (Bhāgyeśa Vyaya Bhāvasthe)

Bhāgyeśo vyayabhāvasthe bhāgyahānikaro naṃ. Śubhakārye jayau nityaṃ nirdhanotthi saṅgamāt.

[!NOTE] A9 in 12th (related case from class): Not necessarily bad — the tangible articles of luck will be associated with moksha and foreign-country matters. The person is seen as "lucky" with respect to letting go and spiritual progress.
