Class opens the day after a Satyanarayana Vratam (full moon observance). The opening mantra:

Om Namo Bhagavate Satya Devaya (×11)

Satyanarayana is the lord of Satya Loka (the highest of the seven lokas). He is truth personified. Praying to him on full moon nights, or at minimum reciting this mantra while visualizing him and taking a vow to be truthful, invokes his blessings.

🌍 Pakistan vs. India — The "Twins" Question

Are India and Pakistan Astrological Twins?

A student posed the question: "If Indian astrology can distinguish twins born seconds apart, how does it distinguish nations born on the same day?"

The teacher's response: India and Pakistan are NOT twins.

[!NOTE] Pakistan chose August 14 (Ardra nakshatra day — ruled by Rudra, not considered auspicious for new beginnings). India deliberately waited for August 15 midnight to avoid the Ardra nakshatra association with Rahu (Vimshottari lord). However, constraints of Nehru's secular image meant the ideal Muhurta was not fully optimal.

Both countries have all planets between Rahu and Ketu — a notable Yoga discussed below.

🕐 Selecting the Dasha for Mundane Charts

Moon vs. Lagna Vimshottari for Nations

In human charts: preference for Chandra (Moon) Vimshottari because:

• Moon = mind; the most important faculty for human beings
• Moon is the karaka for humanity; in Navamsa, Pranapada Lagna must have Moon in a trine/7th for a human birth
• Even when Lagna is stronger, Chandra Vimshottari is generally used for humans unless Lagna is much stronger

In mundane/national charts:

• A nation is NOT a human being; Moon = collective mood of the masses
• For decisive national actions, Lagna is equally or more important
• The teacher advises: find which is stronger using the standard counting method, then apply that Vimshottari for mundane charts (no thumb-of-rule bias toward Moon)

[!TIP] JHora allows two methods for counting planets in quadrants: (1) sign-based and (2) nakshatra-pada-based (teacher's preferred). Both can be toggled in the software settings.

Strength Comparison Method (Nakshatra Pada Approach)

Taking the nakshatra pada of Moon (or Lagna) as the center, four nakshatra padas on each side form the "first house." This is more discriminating than the simple sign-based method and is supported by classical precedent (Sanjay Rath uses pada-based house division for certain specific purposes).

Conditional Dasas — Quick Check for Nations

[!NOTE] Dwadashottari Dasha (112-year dasha applicable when Lagna is in a Venusian Navamsa): The teacher has not found it consistently working; some missing links in the classical rules. Default to Vimshottari when uncertain. Vimshottari always works, though with "fuzzier" results compared to a specifically applicable conditional dasha.

For Pakistan: Lagna Vimshottari is used (Lagna has 5 planets in quadrants; Moon has only 1).

Jupiter is the 3rd and 6th lord in the 8th house → Viparita Raja Yoga

[!IMPORTANT] Viparita Raja Yoga does NOT give gradual improvement. It gives a sudden reversal — often from a very bad state to a very good state, or vice versa. Pakistan's international relations exemplify this pattern exactly during Jupiter Mahadasha.

Key Antardasha Readings (Navamsa — International Relations)

[!WARNING] Rahu Antardasha within Jupiter Mahadasha: There is inherent friction between Jupiter (wisdom/dharma) and Rahu (illusion/deceit) — they pull in opposite directions. When they are in a Mahadasha-Antardasha relationship, tension and disorder arise. Pakistan must exercise caution in 2007–2008; risk of internal poisoning or sabotage.

Ketu and Terrorism

• 🐲 Ketu represents executors of terrorism — headless, unthinking, blindly following instructions (e.g., foot soldiers like Mohammed Atta)
• 🐉 Rahu represents planners of terrorism — the think-tank, masterminds (e.g., Al-Zawahiri)
• In a national chart: when 8th/6th/12th house or Badhakasthana is activated and Rahu or Ketu is involved → terror-related events

On the positive side: Ketu also shows those who surrender ego and walk the Moksha Marga.

🌐 Navamsa in Mundane Charts — Foreign Relations

In mundane charts, Navamsa = international relations (Antar Jatiya Dharma).

The Bhoga method: From the Mahadasha lord, count to the Antardasha lord. That sign's position from the Mahadasha lord's sign is the Bhoga Rashi — it shows what is physically experienced during that period.

Moon Antardasha Bhoga — Pakistan

Moon is the Antardasha lord. Jupiter is the Mahadasha lord. Jupiter (Navamsa) is in Venus's sign. From Jupiter, Moon is 9th. From Moon, the 9th (Bhoga) falls in the 4th house = Sukha/peace. Suggests Pakistan will appear to be making peace with neighboring countries. However, Moon is the 10th lord with Saturn (Badhaka); Moon gives Saturn's results → subtle pressure from powerful nations.

🏺 Arudha Padas in Mundane Charts — Tangible National Events

Arudha Padas are the tangible manifestations of each house. In a national chart:

"When A6 and UL are together in a national chart, the country tends to fight and lose. Better to use diplomacy." — Teacher

India's A6 + A7 Combination

India has A6 (tangible confrontation) and A7 (tangible diplomacy) in the same sign (Capricorn). This creates India's characteristic pattern: every war is accompanied by intense multilateral diplomacy. Wars don't happen cleanly — they are wrapped in diplomatic negotiations with major powers simultaneously.

[!TIP] Argala vs. Graha Drishti on Arudhas:

• Graha Drishti: the planet desires to deliver that Arudha's result
• Placed in the house: the planet is asked to deliver that result
• Lord of the Arudha: that is the planet's agenda
• Argala: the planet has a role to play when that result comes — it is a capability, not just desire

🇮🇳 India Chart Analysis

Birth Data: August 15, 1947, midnight IST, Delhi Lagna: Cancer (Karka); Moon in Magha nakshatra

Current Mahadasha — Saturn (since 1999)

Saturn is the Yoga Karaka for Cancer Lagna (7th + 8th lord). Saturn + Venus (Lagna lord) are in close conjunction (~2° separation) in Cancer:

"The rise of India since 1999 is just a prelude to a bigger Raja Yoga that is likely to manifest during 2008–2009." — Teacher

Venus Antardasha Within Saturn Mahadasha

Venus gives Saturn's results (exchange, as they are in each other's sign functionally):

• Saturn = 3rd lord in the annual context → boldness, new initiatives
• Saturn associated with A6 and A7 → potential confrontations + diplomacy
• Venus = benefic Lagna lord giving new beginning

Planet Exchange Rule (Ascending Beneficence)

When planets are together, they exchange results in a predictable order based on their beneficence. For India's chart, the order of beneficence is:

Venus → Mercury → Moon → Sun → Saturn

(Venus = most benefic; Saturn = least benefic/most malefic here; Moon is Krishna Trayodasi — a dark moon, making it malefic; Mercury = mixed)

When Saturn and Venus exchange results, Venus gives Saturn's results and Saturn gives Venus's results. The mahadasha lord Saturn, giving Venus's (Lagna lord) results, makes this overall a very auspicious Mahadasha for India.

India's Rajayoga at Arudha Level

The Saturn-Venus Raja Yoga operates at both levels:

1. Intangible level: True karma, internal national dharma
2. Tangible level: Arudha padas — Venus connects A5 (recognition), A9 (fortune), A11 (gains); A7 lord (diplomacy) joins them → India gains international recognition, gains, AND diplomatic standing all together in the Saturn-Venus period

🐍 Kala Sarpa & Kala Amrita Yogas

Both India and Pakistan have all planets between Rahu and Ketu — a notable configuration.

[!NOTE] These yogas typically fructify in the 40s for most people, not in youth. Do not give blanket statements like "Kala Sarpa — terrible!" Some astrologers exploit this yoga to scare clients into expensive remedies (Maha Kala Sarpa Yoga — a term not found in classics, used commercially).

[!WARNING] Ethical caution from the teacher: Astrologers who exploit clients' fears (e.g., inventing terms like Maha Kala Sarpa Yoga or prescribing overpriced remedies) incur severe karma. Compared to a doctor who cheats, an astrologer who deceives bears much heavier karmic consequences. Using astrology to help people is the true purpose; greed destroys the practitioner.

📊 Divisional Varga Schemes — Shad, Sapta, Dasa, Shodasa

Parashara defined four Varga schemes of varying comprehensiveness:

The Missing Charts: D-40 and D-45

D-40 and D-45 appear in Shodasa Varga but NOT in Dasa Varga. They deal with:

These charts explain family curses, hereditary patterns of misfortune (e.g., all marriages in a family ending quickly, multiple early deaths in specific Jovian years), etc.

[!NOTE] These are applicable to every person but are less important than the 10 standard charts. However, when a terrible combination appears in D-40/D-45, it should not be ignored — it signals a generational Shapa (curse) from ancestral karma. The movie Murari (Telugu) dramatizes exactly this phenomenon.

Vimshottari Bala and Shad Bala — What They Mean

The teacher clarifies two commonly confused strength systems:

"When Saturn and Venus have a Raja Yoga, who gives it — who writes the check first? That is Shad Bala." — Teacher

Vimshottari Dasha for Non-Human Entities

The 120-year cycle (Parama Ayush) is for human beings. For other entities:

• Government: compress to 5 years
• Horses, dogs: compress to their species Parama Ayush
• Nations: Technically uncertain — the teacher is NOT convinced that compressing to 120 years is correct for countries, though it is commonly done. Annual charts (Varsha Pravesha) are more reliable for nation-level predictions because they rest on a solid technical foundation.

📅 Annual Chart Application — Pakistan 2001

Annual chart (lunar new year) for Pakistan 2001:

• Hora lord (ruler of the year) = Mars
• Mars is in Lagna (Aries Ascendant) = Lagna lord in Lagna → bold new beginning
• Mars is the 6th lord (obstacles at the door) → this is not just any new beginning, but one involving confrontation

"A military leader thoroughly in control, making a bold new beginning — Pervez Musharraf takes charge. The 6th lord Mars also sits on the head, meaning obstacles are formidable." — Teacher

Mars in Lagna for Aries = determination, bold aggressive new beginning. Even as the 6th lord (obstacles), a malefic in the 3rd from any reference strengthens the initiative and drive. This is a year of decisive, aggressive recalibration in Pakistan's direction.

🕉️ Philosophical Digression — Rudras and the Five Elements

Why India chose NOT to be born under Ardra (Rahu/Rudra's nakshatra):

Ardra is ruled by Rudra — the fiery, transformative form of Shiva. Rudras are NOT destructive forces per se; they are the life-force (Agni Tattva) that holds body, mind, and soul together. When Rudras leave the body, Yama (death) arrives. They are:

• Rulers of Agni (fire element) in the universe including internal Agni
• Prayed to through Rudra Namakam and Rudra Chamakam for health and longevity
• Invoked in Satyanarayana Vratam as one of the Pancha Loka Palakas

Five Elemental Rulers (Pancha Loka Palakas)

Special Dashas for Non-Human Existences

"For birds, the Karaka is Sun. For fish, Ketu. For horses, Venus. So when you look at a horse's chart, Venus should be in a trine from Pranapada Lagna, not Moon." — Teacher

Pranapada Lagna = the basis of Prana (life force). For human beings, Moon must be in a trine or 7th from Pranapada Lagna in the Navamsa — this is a validation check for birth chart accuracy.
