class-05
- Dasamsha calculation (D10): odd signs count forward, even signs count backward
- Aries (odd): first third → Aries, second third → Taurus, third third → Gemini… (continues for 10 divisions)
- Actually: for odd Rashi, count from Aries; for even Rashi, count from Libra
- Dasamsha Lagna deities (Dikpalakas for odd signs): Indra, Agni, Yama, Nirriti, Varuna, Vayu, Kubera, Ishana, Brahma, Ananta (10 deities for 10 divisions per sign)
- Aishwarya Rai Dasamsha example: Venus (10th lord for Capricorn lagna) in Indra Amsha → entertainment + authority/power + Kubera influence → wealthy influential actress
- Vimshopaka: weighted score across all 16 vargas; D60 carries highest weight; planet in Sri Dham (all 16 same Amsha) = maximum Vimshopaka
class-06
- D24 (Sidhdhamsha) examples:
- Pandit Sanjay Rath: strong Jupiter in D24 → "Jupiter of the age" for Jyotish
- Swami Aurobindo Ghosh: D24 analysis showing integration of Eastern and Western thought
- D20 (Vimshamsha): Debilitated planets in D20 = STRONGER (Stri Prakriti principle — submission/patience is appropriate for spirituality, so "weak" = strength in this chart)
- Navamsha (D9): Shows dharma, marriage, and how India interacts with other nations (for a country)
class-07
- Dasamsha deity meanings in practice:
- Aishwarya Rai: Venus in Indra Amsha (D10) → authority among entertainers; Kubera amsha influence → wealth
- Tom Hanks: Venus in Indra Amsha (D10) → authority/influence; 6th lord in 6th → works very hard; Atmakaraka = Venus
- Amartya Sen: Jupiter in Nirriti Amsha + Mars in Vayu Amsha → unconventional economic reformer with forceful dynamic action; Jupiter-Mars Parivarthana in D10
- Anonymous Jain technocrat: Ishana + Kubera amshas → religious person in wealth-generating hardware business
- Vaisheshika Amsha levels (from Parashara):
- Paryata: in 2 vargas same position
- Simhasana: in 5 vargas
- Devaloka: in 7 vargas
- Sri Dham: in all 16 vargas (rarest)
class-08
- Arudha Padas in divisional charts: Same calculation method as Rashi; e.g., D10 Arudha Lagna shows professional image
- D60 Arudha Lagna: = past life Lagna; shows the persona carried from past life
- PVR's own D10 Arudha analysis: 3rd and 6th from Arudha Lagna show attitude in the Maya (material) world
class-09
- D24 (PVR's chart): Venus in 9th house (5th+12th lord from Gemini Lagna) = Dharma of scholarship + giving; Mars (11th lord) in 12th = gains given away; teaches because gaining and immediately giving is the pattern
- Debilitated planets in D20 = stronger: Because D20 is Vimshamsha (spiritual chart); submission and receptivity (Stri Prakriti) serve spirituality better than aggressive strength; a debilitated planet is more yielding, thus stronger in this domain
class-10
- Rashi chart vs Vargas: Rashi = physical plane only; Vargas = environmental charts (learning, career, dharma, etc.). For specific matters, go directly to relevant divisional chart.
- Example: Old astrologer used only Rashi, saw many planets in 8th house → said "unlucky." But D24 showed great learning; PVR thrived in education.
- Navamsha (D9) for nations: India's Navamsha shows international dharma/relations
- Pisces Lagna; Venus (3rd+8th lord) + Saturn (12th+11th lord) in 11th = Viparita Raja Yoga → turbulence in foreign policy, then great rise
- Venus Dasha, Saturn Antardasha (2002) = peak of India's international stature
- Dasamsha (D10) rectification: D10 Lagna changes every ~10 minutes; Navamsha every ~14 minutes; no common borders except 0 and 30 degrees
- A10 (Dasama Arudha): Actual job seen from 10th Arudha pada; planet in A10 shows the tangible career role
- Sashtiamsha Amsha names used (v10 examples):
- Kommala (delicate): Saturn in India's Sashtiamsha → prosperity is very delicate
- Davagni (forest fire): Mercury in India's Sashtiamsha → burns rotten things, creates new beginning with turbulence
- Yaksha Amsha: Sun in India's Sashtiamsha → demigod-like skill; India will shine magically
- Kala Amsha: Venus in India's Sashtiamsha → cold, disciplined, detached new beginning
- Ardra Amsha: Mars — tender/auspicious karma from past life
- Brahma Amsha: Rahu — research, digging deeper
- Chandramukhi Amsha: Rahu (second chart)
- Shitala Amsha: Mercury — cool, calm
v1 Batch 2 — Classes 11–20
Divisional Charts — Batch 2
Divisional — D-1 (Rashi / Natal Chart)
Source: class-11, class-13, class-14, class-15, class-20 Purpose: Shows the overall physical existence of the native. All matters of the physical body, material life, health, personality. Computation: The actual birth chart; no division applied. How to read: "Rashi chart is the chart of physical existence. Even though Jawaharlal Nehru may have gone through hardships physically, his career (Dasamsa) was rising. Don't conclude it's a bad year by looking only at Rashi." (class-13). Arudha Lagnas (Pada) are meaningful here — they show the tangible/perceptible manifestations of each house. Signs = inanimate situations; planets = animate, conscious forces. Key planets/houses: All; Lagna shows the true/hidden self; Arudha Lagna shows the perceived/external self and image. Tips: Always compare Rashi with the relevant divisional chart for the matter in question. A bad Rashi placement doesn't mean bad results if the divisional chart is strong.
Divisional — D-2 (Hora)
Source: class-18 Purpose: Shows wealth; which of the two Horas (Sun Hora or Moon Hora) a planet occupies. Used in determining applicable conditional Dashas and Muhurta assessment. Computation: Each sign is divided into two halves of 15° each. In odd signs, the first 15° = Sun Hora, second 15° = Moon Hora. In even signs, the first 15° = Moon Hora, second 15° = Sun Hora. How to read: Planets in Sun Hora indicate Sun-nature wealth; Moon Hora = Moon-nature wealth. The Hora Lagna (HL) shows money and financial resources. Key planets/houses: Sun and Moon as rulers of Hora halves. Tips: "Don't just look at whether it is 7 AM or 8 AM and assume it's daytime — check the sunrise time. A December birth at 8 AM could be before sunrise, making it nighttime." (class-18)
Divisional — D-3 (Drekkana / Drekana)
Source: class-11, class-18 Purpose: Shows siblings and co-born. Also shows the applied determination/initiative of the native (Parivrittitraya Drekkana variant). Computation: Each sign divided into three 10° parts. Parashari Drekkana: odd signs 1→ own, 2→ 5th sign, 3→ 9th sign; even signs 1→ own, 2→ 9th sign (count back), 3→ 5th (count back). How to read:
- For siblings: 3rd house = younger sibling, 11th house = elder sibling. Count 3rd from 3rd for next younger sibling; 11th from 11th for next elder. If the Lagna sign is odd, count forward; if even, count backward.
- Take the sign and find the lord; see where the lord is placed → that becomes the Lagna for that sibling.
- "Rahu or Ketu encountered while counting signals a possible miscarriage or absence of a sibling." (class-18)
- Mother-in-law of sibling = 4th from Upapada of that sibling's position. Key planets/houses: 3rd house (younger siblings), 11th house (elder siblings), Upapada (for sibling's spouse). Tips: "As you go further from the native (e.g., to sibling's mother-in-law), predictions become less crisp. They still give direction but with less precision." (class-18)
Divisional — D-7 (Saptamsa)
Source: class-11, class-18 Purpose: Shows children; their nature, fortunes, and gender. Computation: Each sign divided into 7 equal parts of ~4°17' each. How to read:
- 5th house = 1st child; 7th house = 2nd child (3rd from 5th); 9th house = 3rd child; etc.
- If Lagna sign is odd, count forward; if even, count backward.
- Rahu/Ketu in the Lagna or in the child's position can stop the progression (fewer children or miscarriage risk).
- Male/female: Odd signs = male child (exceptions: Gemini → female, Aquarius → female). Even signs = female child (exceptions: Cancer → male, Pisces → male). Also: exalted planet in child's sign = male; debilitated = female; Jupiter/Sun/Mars/Rahu → male tendency; Moon/Venus → female tendency. Key planets/houses: 5th house and lord (first child), Jupiter (children karaka), Rahu/Ketu (limitation of children count). Tips: "Had Jupiter been propitiated when the chart showed only one child likely, there could be a chance for a second child." (class-11)
Divisional — D-9 (Navamsa)
Source: class-11, class-14, class-15, class-16, class-17, class-18 Purpose: Primary chart for spouse and marriage; also shows one's Dharma, intrinsic spiritual strengths, and Atmakaraka placement (Karakamsha). Computation: Each sign divided into 9 parts of 3°20' each. Starts from Aries for fire signs, Cancer for earth signs, Libra for air signs, Capricorn for water signs. How to read:
- 7th house and 7th lord = spouse's nature from the native's perspective.
- Lagna lord strength → native's happiness in marriage.
- 4th house → marital comfort/contentment.
- Trines (1, 5, 9) show the innate God-given abilities of the native.
- "If 7th house is weak in Rashi but strong in Navamsa, the problem is with general relationships/people, not specifically with the spouse." (class-11)
- When reading a relative's Navamsa, the chart reflects the native's PERCEPTION of that relative, not the total objective truth.
- Atmakaraka in Navamsa (Karakamsha) → see planet in the 12th from AK for moksha path. Key planets/houses: 7th house, Upapada Lagna (formal marriage), AK placement (spiritual direction). Tips: Navamsa Lagna changes sign approximately every 13–14 minutes, so birth time uncertainty of even 10 minutes can shift the Navamsa Lagna. Always verify. (class-17)
Divisional — D-10 (Dasamsa / Dashamsa)
Source: class-11, class-13, class-14, class-20 Purpose: Shows career, karma in society, what one achieves publicly. The "image" people have based on one's actions in society. Computation: Each sign divided into 10 parts of 3° each. How to read:
- Lagna = nature of one's professional self/persona.
- 2nd, 6th, 10th houses all important for career (not just 10th). 2nd = starting resources; 6th = how obstacles are overcome; 10th = what is finally achieved.
- Deities (Dashamamsha Amshas) are crucial: Indra Amsha = political power/high authority; Kubera Amsha = wealth/money from trade or foreign sources; Brahma Amsha = research, digging deeper into knowledge; Ananta Amsha = spiritual rise.
- "Eighty percent of Parashara's Dasamsa chapter defines these deities, not just the signs." (class-14)
- Career found from 10th lord; also from planets in 2nd and 6th for fuller picture.
- Sun in 10th in Dasamsa = political power if he is in Indra Amsha. (class-13) Key planets/houses: 10th house, 6th house, 2nd house; all three = Artha Trikona = career triangle. Tips: "The Dasamsa chart explains what is happening in a person's career even when the Rashi chart shows adversity. Always go to Dasamsa for career questions." (class-13)
Divisional — D-12 (Dwadashamsa)
Source: class-11, class-14 Purpose: Shows parents and ancestors; the 4th lord shows mother, 9th lord shows father. Used to see parents' lives, fortunes, and relationships. Computation: Each sign divided into 12 parts of 2°30' each. How to read:
- 4th house = parenting received from mother; 4th lord = the mother herself (her own Lagna for reading her life).
- 9th house = father; 9th lord = the father.
- Take the 4th lord's position as Lagna to read the mother; take the 9th lord's position as Lagna to read the father.
- "Planets are people; Rashis are only situations. To see a person (mother, father), look at the lord." (class-11)
- From mother's Lagna (4th lord's position), take the 9th from there for maternal grandfather, 4th for maternal grandmother.
- Two planets in 6th/8th from each other (Shadastaka) = tension/incompatibility between those relatives.
- Two planets in 2nd/12th from each other (Dvidvadasa) = frustration or unrealized expectations between those relatives.
- D12 Arudha Pada → shows the actual physical mother, the "flesh" level. Key planets/houses: 4th lord (mother), 9th lord (father), 7th from any relative's Lagna = that relative's spouse. Tips: "D40 (karma from mother's lineage) is for very high karmic-level readings only. For seeing when a parent will rise or have problems, D12 is enough." (class-11)
Divisional — D-20 (Vimsamsa)
Source: class-14 Purpose: Shows spiritual matters, worship, spiritual practices, and one's connection to the divine. Computation: Each sign divided into 20 parts of 1°30' each. How to read: Image of a spiritual leader as seen by disciples is from Vimsamsa. Strong planets in Vimsamsa show spiritual strengths. Key planets/houses: Ketu (moksha), Jupiter (wisdom), Saturn (discipline). Tips: "The image you have of a spiritual leader comes from their Vimsamsa (D20), not their Rashi chart." (class-14)
Divisional — D-24 (Siddhamsha / Chaturvimsamsa)
Source: class-14, class-17, class-20 Purpose: Shows learning, education, intelligence, academic achievements. Computation: Each sign divided into 24 parts of 1°15' each. How to read: "The image of a teacher or astrologer — the learning-based image — comes from D24." (class-14). Strong Sun+Mercury conjunction in D24 = most effective Budhaditya Yoga. Key planets/houses: Mercury (learning), Jupiter (wisdom), Sun (Atma-learning link). Tips: D24 Lagna changes approximately every 5 minutes — requires accurate birth time. Rectify using major educational events if D24 is needed.
Divisional — D-30 (Trimsamsa)
Source: class-14 Purpose: Shows evils, past karmas, diseases, character flaws, general misfortunes. Computation: Each sign divided into 5 unequal parts ruled by Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury, Venus (in different orders for odd/even signs). How to read: Nature of misfortunes and evils comes from Trimsamsa. Lords of each Trimsamsa division reveal the type of difficulty. Key planets/houses: Malefic planet Amshas show the type of suffering. Tips: Use only with an accurate birth time; the Lagna changes every ~4 minutes.
Divisional — D-40 (Khavedamsa / Chaturamsa)
Source: class-11 Purpose: Shows karma inherited from the mother's lineage, going up to 7 generations on the mother's side. Computation: Each sign divided into 40 parts of 0°45' each. How to read: A well-placed karaka in D40 indicates good inherited karma from the mother's family. Malefic placement shows inherited troubles or obligations. Key planets/houses: Moon and 4th house karaka. Tips: "D40 is a very high karmic level chart — use only when you are completely confident the birth time is accurate to the minute." (class-11)
Divisional — D-60 (Sashtiamsa / Shashtyamsha)
Source: class-14 Purpose: The highest importance divisional chart; shows the karma the native has brought from past lives. Shows WHAT will happen (the karma); all other charts show HOW it will manifest. Computation: Each sign divided into 60 parts of 0°30' each; Lagna changes approximately every 2 minutes. How to read:
- "D60 is the actual chart that shows the karma one has to experience based on what was done in past lives." (class-14)
- D60 Arudha Lagna = the most recent previous life; take that as Lagna to see what the native did in the previous life.
- Each D60 Amsha has a specific name (Sudha, Komala, Kula Ghna, etc.) indicating the quality of karma carried by each planet.
- Sudha = moonlight/nectar — pure spiritual karma.
- Komala = delicate, gentle karma.
- Kula Ghna = family-breaking karma (did not carry family lineage forward).
- "In D60, Arudhas have no meaning — it is supra-conscious level; no physical manifestation at that level." (class-14)
- Physical level charts: D1–D12. Mental/intellectual level: D13–D24. Subconscious level: D25–D36. Supra-conscious/karmic level: D37+, especially D60. Key planets/houses: Every planet's D60 Amsha reveals its karma quality for this life. Tips: Parashara gives D60 more weight than Rashi + Navamsa combined in Shadbalas. Never use unless completely confident in birth time accuracy.
Divisional — Tithi Pravesha (Annual Lunar Return / "Varshapravesh" variant)
Source: class-13, class-16, class-17 Purpose: Annual chart based on the return of the exact Tithi (lunar day) of birth. Used for predicting events in the coming year; "this is what I use in 90% of my successful predictions." (class-13) Computation: Find when the Sun returns to the same degree AND the Moon returns to the same Tithi fraction as at birth. Chart cast for that moment. How to read:
- The Hora lord at the time of Tithi Pravesha = ruler of the year; gives the overall flavor of the year.
- Look at the Navamsa of the Tithi Pravesha chart to see if a particular matter (marriage, career, etc.) is strongly indicated that year.
- "This is the equivalent of Western solar returns, but lunar-based. Things come out very clearly." (class-13)
- The Tithi Pravesha Srotri Dasha (special dasha within the annual chart) can time month-by-month events. Key planets/houses: Hora lord, 7th house (for marriage years), 10th house (career years). Tips: Available in free version of Jagannath Hora software. "Even when Lagna cannot be perfectly rectified in the natal chart, the Tithi Pravesha chart makes predictions much clearer." (class-13)
Divisional — Muhurta Chart (Electional Chart)
Source: class-20 Purpose: Cast for the moment a significant event begins (filing nomination, taking oath, starting a venture). Shows the nature and likely outcome of that endeavor. Computation: Standard Rashi chart cast for the exact time and place of the event. How to read:
- Lagna = the very existence/foundation of the enterprise.
- Lagna lord placement is the most critical factor: in 8th = very bad (especially Moon in 8th).
- 5th house = power, popularity, fame of the enterprise.
- "For any Muhurta, never choose Moon in the 8th house. That is really bad — Moon shows mind, and you don't want the mind in a state of anxiety at the very start." (class-20)
- For political candidacies: If Mars+Sun conjoin in 5th with Lagna lord in 5th → strong Raja Yoga; very likely to win power.
- Check if planets forming a yoga are approaching conjunction (getting closer) vs. separating. Approaching = yoga will fructify. Separating = yoga already spent.
- Moon + Rahu in Lagna of a Muhurta → eclipse of public support; setback coming as Moon catches up with Rahu. Key planets/houses: Lagna and Lagna lord, 5th house (power/support), Moon (public/masses in mundane charts). Tips: "The Muhurta chart is sometimes more reliable than the birth chart — political leaders hide their birth data but cannot hide the time of their public oath or nomination." (class-20)
v1 Batch 3 — Classes 21–30
Divisional Charts — Batch 3 (classes 21–30)
Divisional — D-1 (Rashi)
Source: class-21, class-22, class-23 Purpose: Shows the entire physical existence, true nature, real personality (Lagna), and manifested nature (Arudha Lagna). Base chart used for overall life reading. Computation: Standard natal chart. How to read: Lagna shows the true nature; Arudha Lagna shows how the native manifests in society. Third and sixth from Arudha Lagna show whether native is aggressive/ruthless (malefics) or peaceful/saintly (benefics). Second and seventh houses are Maraka (death-inflicting). Third and eighth are houses of vitality and longevity. Key planets/houses: 3rd and 6th from Arudha Lagna for nature; 9th house and 9th lord for Dharma; 2nd and 7th for death; 5th and 10th for power. Tips: Always check nature of sign in 3rd/6th from AL even if empty. If a house is empty, look at its lord's sign for benefic/malefic nature.
Divisional — D-6 (Shashtiamsha / Dreshtakana for health)
Source: class-24 Purpose: Shows the root cause of diseases, bodily weaknesses, the tissues (dhatus) involved, and the "sin person" (Papa Purusha). Also used to indicate which tissue type is weak (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) for Ayurvedic remedies. Computation: Divided into 6 parts per sign. How to read: Sixth house and its influences show disease sources. The nature of afflicting planets reveals which tissues are affected: Mars → nerve marrow/fluid, Venus → kidneys/uterus, Jupiter → fats/diabetes, Saturn → Vata/cold/dry, Sun → digestion, Moon → Kapha/cold, Mercury → nerves/intelligence. Links between 6th and 8th houses increase accident/disease risks. Key planets/houses: 6th house (disease), 8th house (chronic/hidden illness). Lagna and its lord show the body's overall constitution. Tips: Combine with Rashi to see full disease picture. Rashi shows what disease; D-6 shows the tissue-level root cause, enabling Ayurvedic prescription.
Divisional — D-10 (Dasamsa)
Source: class-21, class-22, class-23, class-24, class-26, class-27 Purpose: Career, activities in society, public image, how the world knows you through your work. Ninth house in D-10 shows boss and work dharma; 10th house shows work ethics/duty. Computation: Divided into 10 parts per sign. How to read: Lagna shows true work nature; Arudha Lagna in D-10 shows public image through career. Ghatika Lagna in D-10 shows exercise of power and authority. Amsas (Yama, Indra, Niriti, etc., from BPHS) of the 10th lord or planets there reveal the style of work. Always check 5th house (power/fame) and its lord. Key planets/houses: 5th lord/house (power), 10th lord/house (career), 2nd house (resources), 6th house (work ethic), Ghatika Lagna (authority). Sun in 2nd house shows political connections enriching the career. Tips: Rectify Dasamsa Lagna before analysis — even 16 seconds difference can change Lagna. Assess window (how many minutes until Lagna changes sign) before trusting analysis.
Divisional — D-16 (Shoda Shamsha)
Source: class-23 Purpose: Shows happiness from vehicles and one's relationship with vehicles. Used for vehicle accidents, pleasures, and problems related to conveyances. Computation: Divided into 16 parts per sign. How to read: Sixth house and eighth house connections in D-16 indicate accidents. Rahu-Ketu in Lagna or 4th house (house of vehicles) = bad for vehicular safety. Sixth lord in 4th or 4th lord in 6th = problems with vehicles. Jupiter+Rahu in same house = Manushya Hatya potential (the person associated with that house can even die). Key planets/houses: 4th house (vehicle), 6th and 8th (accident/injury), Lagna (self in vehicle). Tips: If Rahu and Jupiter are together in D-16, whatever house that is — there can be something very bad happening to the person/thing signified by that house. Viparita Raja Yoga interpretation does NOT apply in D-16; 6th-8th links = accident, not rise.
Divisional — D-20 (Vimsamsa)
Source: class-24 Purpose: Shows spiritual progress — the evolution of the soul in this life. Not just ritualistic puja, but genuine spiritual advancement. Computation: Divided into 20 parts per sign. How to read: Lagna and 5th house show devotion/ability in spiritual matters. Ninth house shows formal religion and dharma. Strong Lagna + 5th = genuine devotion; if 9th is also strong = follows organized religion. Raja Yoga between 9th and 10th lord in D-20 means spiritual progress comes through work/duty. Key planets/houses: 5th house (devotion and mantra), 9th house (formal dharma), Lagna (spiritual constitution). Tips: If Lagna lord is in 5th and conjunct 5th lord, and Saturn (Yoga Karaka for Taurus/Libra) aspects from 7th, that is an excellent Raja Yoga for spiritual attainment.
Divisional — D-24 (Siddhamsha / Chaturvimshamsha)
Source: class-27 Purpose: Learning and education, especially higher learning, astrology, occult sciences, and spiritual knowledge. Computation: Divided into 24 parts per sign. How to read: 8th house = occult knowledge; 11th house = learning occult (4th from 8th = 11th); 6th house = scholarship; 2nd house = application of knowledge in speech/prediction. Atmakaraka linked to 11th lord indicates soul-level past-life connection to occult knowledge. Key planets/houses: 2nd (speech/prediction), 5th (abilities), 6th (scholarship), 8th (hidden/occult), 11th (gaining occult knowledge). Tips: When Moon links 11th, 5th, and 2nd in D-24, the native will be an excellent predictor. Pray to the deity of that linking Moon (e.g., Krishna) to activate scholarship.
Divisional — D-4 (Chaturamsha)
Source: class-23 Purpose: Shows place of residence, travel, property, and displacement from home. Used specifically for foreign travel analysis. Computation: Divided into 4 parts per sign. How to read: 7th house = travel with strong desire; 9th house = prosperity abroad; 12th house = displacement and missing motherland; Baadha sthana lord can give displacement. Planets in D-4 2nd, 7th, 9th, 12th give different flavors of foreign travel. Jalapatana Sahamam and Pardesha Sahamam in 7th/9th/12th or their lords indicate foreign travel. Key planets/houses: 7th (desire-driven travel), 9th (fortune abroad), 12th (displacement), Lagna lord (overall situation of residence). Tips: When looking at foreign travel, Capricorn/Aquarius signs (Saturn/Rahu owned) and watery signs are particularly important. Parivartana between planets in D-4 can change the expected result.
Divisional — D-3 (Drekkana)
Source: class-23 Purpose: Shows siblings, co-borns, and events in their lives. Also used for chart rectification when birth time uncertainty is large (± 30–40 minutes). Computation: Divided into 3 parts per sign; changes approximately every 40 minutes. How to read: Ask about sibling events to determine correct Drekkana Lagna. Each sibling is signified by successive lords of the Drekkana houses. Events in siblings' lives will correlate with transits/dashas in D-3. Key planets/houses: 3rd house (siblings), Lagna (self's co-born nature). Tips: When birth time window is 1 hour, use D-3 first to narrow down to 20–40 minutes, then proceed to rectify more precise charts like D-10 or D-9.
Divisional — D-60 (Sashtiamsha)
Source: class-21 Purpose: Shows karmas from all past lives. The most important chart for judging Mahadasha results. Each of the 60 Shastiamshas has a specific nature (Deva, Manushya, Rakshasa, etc.) indicating the quality of past-life karma. Computation: Divided into 60 parts per sign. How to read: Which Sashtiamsha a planet occupies reveals the quality of karma associated with that planet. The Mahadasha lord's Sashtiamsha shows the quality of the karma being activated in that Mahadasha. Deva = divine/positive; Rakshasa = demonic/negative. Key planets/houses: The Sashtiamsha of the 9th lord is especially critical for understanding the Dharma that will be given in this life. Tips: Do not rely on Sashtiamsha unless the birth time is very accurately rectified. PVR specifically notes he avoids D-60 analysis unless confident of rectification.
v1 Batch 4 — Classes 31–40
Divisional Charts — Batch 4 (Classes 31–40)
General Principle: Controlling House Per Divisional Chart
- Class 31: Each divisional chart has a "controlling house" — the Nth house for Dn chart. The Narayana Dasha of a divisional chart is most meaningful when the dasha sign activates the controlling house.
- D10 (Dasamsa) → 10th house controls career/profession
- D9 (Navamsa) → 9th house controls dharma/spouse
- D24 (Siddhamsa) → 24th from Lagna... PVR uses 12th house (occult knowledge domain)
- D20 (Vimshamsa) → 20th from Lagna, 8th house controls spiritual practice
- General rule: For Dn, the Nth house of the Rashi chart is the controlling house
D24 — Siddhamsa (Class 31)
- Domain: Education, learning, academic knowledge; also occult/hidden knowledge.
- Key houses for occult: 2nd (occult speech), 5th (mantras/intelligence), 8th (hidden sciences, tantra), 11th (gains/fulfilment of occult desires).
- Michael Jackson Chart: PVR analyzed D24 Narayana Dasha to check when MJ acquired unusual/occult abilities. The dasha of signs containing relevant planets in D24 corresponded to periods of enhanced creative and unusual abilities.
- Class 31: Sthiti Pravesha (re-entry annual charts) can be cast for divisional charts — cast D24 chart for the exact time the Sun returns to its natal position in Sidereal degrees, mapped to D24.
D9 — Navamsa (Classes 31, 33, 40)
- Domain: Dharma, marriage, deeper nature, past-life blessings.
- Class 31: Narayana Dasha of D9 can be used for timing events related to dharma, spiritual growth, and marriage.
- Class 33: Parivarthana (exchange) in D9 should be read carefully — when two planets exchange signs in Navamsa, one should trace the actual ownership carefully because in Navamsa the signs are mapped differently from Rashi.
- Class 33: Rahu's strength in divisional charts differs from Ketu's. Rahu gains directional strength more easily in material divisional charts (D10, D7), while Ketu is stronger in spiritual divisionals (D20, D24). When in doubt, Rahu = future direction/desire; Ketu = past mastery/completion.
- Class 40: Navamsa = "Dharmamsa" — carries past-life dharma, punya, and abilities forward. The native's inherent abilities (blessing from past karma) are seen from Navamsa Lagna.
- Class 40: Planets in Navamsa Lagna or in Rashi Drishti trine to Navamsa Lagna show the native's natural talents and abilities (not just what they do, but what they are inherently capable of).
- Class 40: Swamsa has dual meaning: (1) Navamsa Lagna, (2) Karakamsa (Atmakaraka's sign in Navamsa). Context determines which is meant.
- Class 40: Only Rashi Drishti (sign aspects) is used for Navamsa Lagna analysis per Jaimini. Graha Drishti shows desire but doesn't manifest; Rashi Drishti shows what actually manifests.
- Class 40: The Lagna Antara Dasha (available in JHora software) specifically shows when the abilities indicated in Navamsa will physically manifest. PVR mentioned this should be studied more thoroughly later.
Navamsa Lagna by Sign (Jaimini — Class 40)
- Aquarius Navamsa Lagna (11th sign): Construction of lakes, tanks, gardens, roads, temples (per Sanjay Rath's translation of Jaimini Sutra "tatā kādayo dharme" — dha=5, ma=5 → reversed 55, mod 12 = 7... actually "dharme" → 11th sign Aquarius per interpreter).
- General: For each of the 12 Navamsa Lagnas, Jaimini gives specific vocational/life-domain tendencies.
Navamsa Chart — Parivarthana Note (Class 40)
- When Jupiter and Mars have a Parivarthana in Navamsa, they exchange their functional influences. But this exchange activates only during Jupiter Dasha / Mars Antardasha (or vice versa). Before that trigger, the planets behave normally.
D10 — Dasamsa (Classes 36, 40)
- Domain: Career, profession, public role, authority.
- Class 36: Dasha Dikpalas are 10 directional deities whose Dasamsa amsha position shows the deity whose energy governs career events during corresponding dashas:
- Ishana (NE) = Shiva, spiritual authority
- Ananta (N) = Vishnu, preservation
- Indra (E) = King of gods, authority, leadership
- Agni (SE) = Fire, purification, transformation
- Yama (S) = Dharma, justice, endings
- Nirriti (SW) = Destruction, loss
- Varuna (W) = Water, law, judgment
- Vayu (NW) = Wind, movement, change
- Kubera (N) = Wealth, prosperity
- Brahma (center) = Creation, new beginnings
- Class 40: Bill Gates' Dasamsa has Rahu over Ketu in Lagna — relevant for career analysis, but Navamsa is separate domain from Dasamsa.
D20 — Vimshamsa (Class 31)
- Domain: Spiritual practices, upasana, worship, yoga sadhana.
- Controlling house: 8th house (transformation, hidden practices).
- Class 31: Narayana Dasha of D20 used to time when person takes up spiritual practices seriously, or when specific worship traditions become significant.
Annual Charts — Sthiti Pravesha / Varsha Pravesha (Class 31)
- Sthiti Pravesha: The annual chart cast for the exact moment the Sun returns to its natal degree (Sidereal) each year. Can be cast for the Rashi chart as well as for each divisional chart.
- Class 31: For D24, one can cast the Sthiti Pravesha by finding when the Sun reaches its natal D24 position annually. This gives an annual chart for academic/occult matters.
- Michael Jackson: PVR used Sthiti Pravesha charts in conjunction with D24 Narayana Dasha to time unusual creative periods.
Divisional Chart Narayana Dasha — Exceptions (Class 31, 35)
- Ketu Exception: In standard Narayana Dasha, Ketu's sign gives the same result as the sign occupied by Ketu (i.e., Ketu is treated like a planet at that sign). In divisional charts, this same exception applies.
- Saturn Exception: Saturn's sign may use the forward direction for counting depending on JHora software settings. This applies in both Rashi and divisional Narayana Dashas.
- Class 35: JHora software options:
- "Saturn exception in Narayana Dasha" — checkbox option
- "Ketu exception in Narayana Dasha" — separate checkbox
- PVR has not experimented with Sahamas in Narayana Dasha context.
Navamsa — Abilities vs Manifestation Distinction (Class 40)
- What you see in Navamsa = what the person is naturally capable of (inherent, comes without deliberate training).
- What you see in Rashi chart = the actual events and circumstances of life.
- Arudha Lagna (in Rashi) = what manifests in the external world/society sees.
- Jaimini later states that what is described from Navamsa Lagna can also be seen from Arudha Lagna (for the manifestation side).
v1 Batch 5 — Classes 41–50
Divisional Charts — Batch 5 (Classes 41–50)
class-41
D2 (Hora / Kasinath Hora) — Sampada Chart
- True purpose: Shows resources and "Sampada" — Parashara's word "Sampada" means resources broadly, NOT just money or finances.
- Sampada encompasses wealth, influence, power, intellectual resources, physical resources, social capital.
- Hora Lagna (HL): Shows the actual accumulated wealth and resources a person possesses in reality.
- Ghatika Lagna (GL): Shows power, authority, and influence — the person's capacity to command.
- Arudha Lagna of D2: Shows the material/financial status as perceived by others (image of wealth).
- Narayana Dasha of D2: The preferred timing tool for wealth events in this chart (not Vimshottari).
- Upapada Lagna (UL) in D2: Shows the material foundation of marriage — the resources the marriage brings or requires.
- NTR example: Strong HL and GL in D2 explained both his immense wealth and his political power simultaneously.
- Ramakrishna Dalmia example: D2 analysis helped explain the rise and fall of his financial empire.
- Source: v41
D9 (Navamsa) — Marriage and Dharmic Environment
- Navamsa shows the dharmic environment and inner self vs. the Rasi chart's outer/physical self.
- For marriage timing: 1st, 7th, and 9th houses of Navamsa are key (marriage = dharmic act).
- A planet exalted in Navamsa is stronger than exalted in Rasi for spiritual/dharmic matters.
- Rahu–Venus conjunction in Navamsa: they exchange results (Venus gives Rahu's effects, Rahu gives Venus's effects).
- Narayana Dasha of Navamsa (not just Vimshottari) is important for timing events in the dharmic/marital domain.
- Source: v41
class-43
D20 (Vimshamsa) — Spiritual Environment
- Shows the spiritual/upasana environment surrounding the person.
- Key feature: Rahu and Ketu always occupy the same sign in D20 (they don't separate in this divisional chart).
- Method for spiritual path: Count to the 4th house from Atmakaraka in D20 — that house indicates the native's marga (spiritual path/method):
- Aquarius with Rahu–Ketu = intense desire for liberation, unconventional path, strong spiritual dissatisfaction with the material.
- Fire sign = Agni-based (homa, yagya, vedic fire rituals).
- Water sign = Bhakti (devotion-oriented).
- Durdasha is the primary dasha for D20 spiritual analysis; starts from 9th house.
- Ketu-associated dashas in Durdasha = most spiritually auspicious.
- 12th from Atmakaraka in D20: Shows where the soul finds peace/moksha in the spiritual domain.
- 8th from Atmakaraka in D20: Shows the soul's sadhana for moksha — what practices are undertaken.
- Source: v43
D60 (Sashtamsa) — Past Life Karma
- Shows actual karma carried from past lives.
- Gets the highest Vimshopaka weighting of all divisional charts — more than Rasi and Navamsa combined in the Dasha Varga group.
- Parashara's instruction: "See everything in D60."
- Arudha Lagna of D60: Represents the past life — the identity and status of the person in their previous birth.
- 3rd house from AL in D60: Shows the circumstances of past-life death:
- Sign = location/context of death.
- Planets = nature of death (Mars=violent/weapons, Saturn=prolonged illness, Ketu=accidental/unintentional, Sun=fire/royal, Rahu=poison/isolation).
- Indu Sashtamsa (Moon): The benefic Sashtamsa — indicates positive/auspicious past-life karma.
- Moola Dasha: The dasha system for D60; shows karma being discharged.
- Source: v43
class-44
D9 (Navamsa) — Birth Time Rectification Tool
- D9 Lagna changes approximately every 3–8 minutes depending on the rising sign.
- This sensitivity makes Navamsa extremely useful for narrowing the birth time window.
- Key: If a known event (marriage, child birth) makes sense only with a specific Navamsa Lagna, the birth time cannot be off by more than the window for that Lagna.
- Source: v44
D24 (Chaturvimshamsa) — Most Sensitive Chart
- D24 Lagna changes every 4 minutes — the most time-sensitive divisional chart.
- This extreme sensitivity means D24 is the most powerful rectification tool when an event date is precisely known.
- Material learning: Use the 4th lord as Narayana Dasha seed (not the default 12th lord).
- 4th house in D24: Basic/elementary education.
- 9th house in D24: Bachelor's degree (first specialization).
- 2nd house in D24: Master's degree (second level of accumulation of knowledge).
- Source: v44
class-45
D60 (Sashtamsa) — Detailed Principles
- D60 is the most important divisional chart for assessing the root cause of life events.
- The karma shown here is the deepest — from past multiple births.
- Past-life death analysis (3rd from AL in D60) directly explains current-life phobias:
- Fear of heights = past death by falling.
- Fear of water = past death by drowning.
- Fear of crowds/fire = past death in fire or stampede.
- Fear of weapons/violence = past death by Mars (weapons, war).
- Sanjay Rath's D60 example: Used in class to demonstrate how 3rd from AL reveals past life death type and how it manifests as current-life fears/health conditions.

class-46
All Divisional Charts — Digbala Application
- Digbala applies independently in each divisional chart:
- A planet with Digbala in D1 (Rasi) may lack it in D9 (Navamsa).
- Always check Digbala in the relevant divisional chart when assessing that chart's domain.
- Digbala positions:
- 1st house: Mercury, Jupiter (Dharma direction).
- 10th house: Sun, Mars (Artha direction).
- 7th house: Saturn (Kama direction).
- 4th house: Moon, Venus (Moksha direction).
- A planet with Digbala in D10 is especially powerful for career matters even if weak in D1.
- Source: v46
Vimshopaka Bala Across All Divisional Charts
- Each divisional chart contributes to a planet's overall Vimshopaka bala.
- The Dasha Varga group (used when judging during a dasha) includes: D1, D3, D7, D9, D12, D16, D20, D24, D27, D30, D40, D45, D60.
- Weighting in Dasha Varga: D60 receives the highest weight; D1 and D9 together receive less than D60 alone.
- A planet strong primarily in D60 will unexpectedly give powerful results — explained by D60's high Vimshopaka weighting.
- Source: v46
class-47
D24 (Chaturvimshamsa) — Education Analysis Continued
- To assess what kind of education a person pursues: examine the 9th house and 9th lord in D24.
- The planets influencing the 9th house in D24 show the subject of bachelor's education:
- Rahu/Ketu = electronics, computers, engineering.
- Mercury = communication, languages, mathematics.
- Saturn = civil engineering, materials, construction.
- Venus = arts, music, design, management (MBA).
- Sun = government, administration, medicine.
- Mars = military, mechanical engineering, sports.
- Jupiter = law, philosophy, teaching, higher studies.
- The 9th lord's avastha (exaltation, debilitation, strength) shows how much interest and ability the person has in that education.
- A debilitated and afflicted 9th lord = person is not genuinely interested in the education, does it out of obligation, may take longer than normal.
- Source: v47
D24 — Amsha Rulers (Partial Knowledge)
- Deities associated with D24 divisions (Amshas) indicate the attitude toward learning shown by that planet:
- Vishwakarma Amsha: Constructs and creates knowledge — puts pieces together to build comprehensive understanding.
- Maya Amsha: Similar constructive ability but with a darker/demonic tinge — undesirable associations in the learning.
- Antaka Amsha (Yama): Unemotional, cycle-based learning — willing to destroy old knowledge and rebuild from scratch; no compromise.
- Vrishabhadija Amsha: Ritualistic approach — learning as a tradition to be followed, not deeply personal.
- Parashurama Amsha: Passionate, intense, goal-oriented learning — if the goal is wrong, completely destroys everything.
- Note: Teacher's confidence in these interpretations is partial; some Amsha rulers not fully confirmed in practice.

class-48
D7 (Saptamsa) — Child Birth Timing
- Use D7 for questions about children and their birth.
- The Putra Sahama in the annual Tithi Pravesh chart should be checked alongside D7.
- In the natal D7 chart: odd Lagna = count forward; even Lagna = count backward from 5th house for first child.
- Jupiter = Putra Karaka (project manager for children); 5th lord = group manager.
- If 5th lord, Putra Karaka (Jupiter), and Putra Sahama lord are all aligned, the birth is strongly indicated in that dasha.
- When multiple planets are in the 5th house or rule the 5th house, the most exalted or strongest planet becomes the spokesperson.
- Sex determination: odd sign = male, even sign = female (from the D7 "child Lagna").
- Source: v48
D2 — Paapa Kartari and Annual Chart Application
- In the annual chart's D2, check for Paapa Kartari Yoga (malefics flanking a house).
- A house hemmed between malefics is weakened even if it contains a Raja Yoga — the yoga gives results but in a constrained or painful way.
- The 4th house afflicted in annual D2 = disruption to domestic comfort and material stability during that year.
- Source: v48
class-50
D24 (Chaturvimshamsa) — Career Fit Analysis
- When assessing whether a job/career field is appropriate for a native, examine the D24 9th house and D24 10th house together:
- 9th house = bachelor's training, the foundation of professional knowledge.
- 10th house in D24 (if this divisional is used for professional learning environment) = the professional application.
- The Amsha ruler of key planets in D24 gives further information about the person's deep attitude toward their vocation.
- Yamaamsa (Yama's division): Unemotional, duty-focused, no creativity — suited for administrative/human resources work.
- Source: v50
D10 (Dasamsa) — Career Environment Analysis
- D10 shows the professional karmic environment — what type of work is cosmically assigned to the native.
- The 10th lord of D1 placed in D10 shows the direction of the career.
- Narayana Dasha of D10 is preferred over Vimshottari for timing professional events.
- Arudha Lagna of D10: The tangible career status and image.
- A10 (Karma Pada): The tangible formal job held.
- A5 (Pada of 5th house): The tangible recognition of ability received in the career context.
- When A9 + A10 are together in D10 = material Raja Yoga for career (fortune and accomplishment fuse).
- A planet in the 8th house of D10 = career disruption, forced change, unexpected setback in professional area.
- Venus in D10 Lagna as 3rd/8th lord: Agenda of breaks and retirement rather than sustained career — such a person will not have a stable long-term career.
- Jupiter in D10 10th house in own sign/Moolatrikona: Extremely powerful for career — even if other factors are difficult, this one anchor gives social contribution and accomplishment.

v1 Batch 6 — Classes 51–60
Divisional Charts — Batch 6 (classes 51–60)
Divisional — D-1 (Rashi / Natal Chart)
Source: class-51, class-59, class-60
The Rashi chart is the base chart — it shows the physical body and what manifests in the material plane. When analyzing any annual chart (Tithi Pravesha) or special dasha event, always first examine the natal Rashi chart to understand the baseline. The Tithi Pravesha chart is a "ripple on that base"; without knowing the base, the ripple cannot be correctly interpreted. Luminaries (Sun + Moon) in any chart must be strong for yogas to function.
Divisional — D-2 (Hora / Wealth)
Source: class-59
The Hora chart (D2) is used in mundane astrology to assess financial conditions of a country during a given year. In the 1930 financial new year chart (Kartika Shukla Pratipada), the D2 chart showed Saturn in Lagna (Maranakara Sthana for Saturn), four planets in their respective Maranakara Sthanas, Sun and Moon in the 8th house eclipsed by Ketu — a catastrophically weak financial chart corresponding to the Great Depression year of 1930–31.
Divisional — D-7 (Saptamsa / Children)
Source: class-51
The D7 (Saptamsa) chart is used to analyze children — their nature, number, and gender. Odd signs in D7 = male children; even signs = female children. When planets occupy a sign in D7, the gender of that planet dominates over the sign's default gender. The Saptamsika Dasha (special dasha for D7) reveals the timing of events related to children.
Divisional — D-10 (Dashamsa / Career)
Source: class-51, class-60
The D10 (Dashamsa) reveals career, professional environment, public work, and workplace karma. Key houses in D10: 2nd (resources and support), 6th (obstacles to overcome at work), 10th (actual karma done). Arudha Lagna in D10 shows the image the world has of the native's professional conduct. Jupiter in debility as 6th lord with Mars exalted as 10th lord = Jaya Yoga (victory over enemies in career). Special dashas like Vrishabpati Sama Dasha apply to D10 as well.
Divisional — D-11 (Rudramsha / Destruction)
Source: class-59
The D11 (Rudramsha or Ekdashamsa) chart shows the environment of destruction around the native. In mundane chart analysis (e.g., comparing 1900 and 2005 lunar new year charts), Rudramsha is used to identify patterns of death and destruction. Key houses in D11 for destruction: 2nd and 7th (maraka / death-inflicting houses) — 2nd is 12th from 3rd (vitality), 7th is 12th from 8th (longevity). Strong malefics in or aspecting 2nd/7th in D11 confirm death events.
Divisional — D-12 (Dvadashamsa / Parents)
Source: class-54, class-55
The D12 (Dvadashamsa) chart governs parents and ancestry. Sudarshana Chakra Dasha applied to D12 can time events in parents' lives (e.g., father's accident, mother's sickness). The 5th house in D12 represents the father's father; 4th house the mother. Homework examples in the class traced vehicular accidents and illnesses of parents using SCD in D12.
Divisional — D-16 (Shodasamsa / Vehicles)
Source: class-51
The D16 (Shodasamsa) chart governs vehicles, comforts, and conveyances. Vehicle problems are analyzed in D16 by examining afflictions to the Lagna, 8th house, and relevant house lords in D16. In a student's chart example, vehicle-related troubles were visible in D16 with confirmation from the running dasha.
Divisional — D-20 (Vimshamsa / Spirituality)
Source: class-52
The D20 (Vimshamsa) governs spiritual practice and upasana. The Ketu placement relative to the Atmakaraka in Navamsa is cross-referenced with D20 to confirm moksha indications. Sai Baba's chart showed Ketu in the 12th from his Atmakaraka in Navamsa with predominantly benefic aspects — indicating moksha in that lifetime.
Divisional — D-24 (Chaturvimshamsa / Education)
Source: class-57
The D24 (Chaturvimshamsa) governs learning, education, and knowledge acquisition. Arudha Lagna in D24 shows how the world perceives a native's educational attainments and scholarly image. In the class, the Arudha Lagna in D24 was used to see the tangible expression of a person's intellectual standing.
Divisional — D-60 (Shashtiamsa / Past Life)
Source: class-52
The D60 (Shashtiamsa) governs past life karma. The 3rd house from Arudha Lagna in D60 shows the circumstances and nature of how a person died in the previous life. Planets in that 3rd house in D60 reveal past-life death scenarios that produce current-life phobias and karmic patterns. Jupiter in the 3rd from AL in D60 = a conscious, dignified death (satvic death) in the prior life.
v1 Batch 7 — Classes 61–70
Divisional Charts — Batch 7 (v61–v70)
class-61
Dasamsa (D-10)
- Purpose: Professional environment in which the Rashi physical existence is placed. "Dasamsa is the professional environment in which your Rashi physical existence is placed." — PVR direct quote.
- Scorpio Dasamsa Lagna for Dick Cheney: secretive, powerful, behind-the-scenes professional environment.
- Ghattika Lagna in Dasamsa: in 5th house of Dasamsa → command over others, executive power.
- Analysis method: see Raja yogas in Dasamsa, evaluate lagna lord strength, and check AL (Arudha Lagna) position in Dasamsa for career image.
- Agni Dasamsa planets: planets in fire deity's Dasamsa divisional show engineers, policy makers, strategists, legislators — people who transform things.
class-62
No new D-chart technique
- Tribhagi Vimshottari Dasha uses the Rashi chart primarily; Sanjayji uses only Rashi and Navamsa with this system.
class-63
No new D-chart technique
- Sarvatobhadra Chakra is a separate technique (not a divisional chart per se); uses 28 nakshatras.
class-65
D-11 Rudramsa
- Purpose: Weaknesses and punishments. Based on Jaimini's principle "Tanautana dandahara" — 6th house and 6th from 6th (= 11th house) are the most evil houses for punishment.
- Used to identify the root cause of addictions and compulsive behaviors (e.g., alcoholism chart).
- Modulo formula: D-11 modulo 12 = 11 (no change); it focuses on 11th house matters from a punitive angle.
D-20 Vimshamsa
- Purpose: Spirituality, upasana, and subconscious weaknesses/susceptibilities.
- Important teaching: D-20 is NOT just about spirituality; it is the chart of subconscious evils (Sadripus) and the root cause of all suffering. "According to Ayurveda, any sickness you experience is because of your inherent latent subconscious evil."
- Levels: D1–D12 = physical level; D13–D24 = mental/conscious level; D25–D36 = subconscious level. D-30 falls in the subconscious category.
- Sign of Moon in D-20: determines the TYPE of mental weakness — fire sign = anger/irritability; earth sign (Mercury-owned) = attachment/clinging; air sign (Saturn-owned) = mental wandering/instability; water sign (Venus/Moon) = emotional weakness; ether (Jupiter-owned) = philosophical vacuity.
class-66
Dasamsa (D-10) — Career Rectification
- Chart (Sep 1, 1955, 5:30 PM, Machilipatnam, Aquarius Lagna): Career as army officer confirmed by Mars in 10th house of Dasamsa (Ketu-ruled nakshatra = foot soldiers; Mars = high-ranking officers).
- Mercury aspecting 10th house in Rashi by rashi drishti → telecom/communications career possibility.
- Technique: Mercury + Mars in Dasamsa 2nd house = career in software/communications. Venus Dasha = Lagna lord + 6th lord = bhoga in Lagna = career start.
Navamsa (D-9) — Special Dasha Check
- Checking special dasha applicability: Lagna in Navamsa vs. Rashi → Vargottama check for Shatabdi Dasha; 7th lord in Lagna or Lagna lord in 7th for Vimsapaka Sama Dasha.
class-67
Dasamsa (D-10) — Career Chart
- Chart (Feb 7, 1975, 12:12 AM, Guntur, Libra Lagna): Taurus Dasamsa Lagna. Mercury+Mars in 2nd house (Mercury in own house Gemini → Mercury-ruled career = computers/communications).
- Venus Dasha (Dasamsa Lagna lord) = bhoga in Lagna = career jumpstart in 1998.
- Mercury Antardasha = 5th lord (recognition) + Arudha Lagna connections.
class-68
Navamsa (D-9) — Marriage Rectification
- Rectification windows: Vimshamsa (D-20) changes every 2 minutes; Navamsa (D-9) changes every 6 minutes; Dasamsa (D-10) changes every 4–8 minutes.
- Marriage confirmation technique: locate Jupiter as UL (Upapada Lagna) lord; if Jupiter aspects 7th from UL in Navamsa, confirms marriage in that Jupiter Dasha.
- Chart (Mar 2, 1946, 4 AM, Cambay): Scorpio Navamsa → Jupiter in Lagna aspecting 7th → marriage in Jupiter Dasha confirmed.
- Sagittarius Navamsa alternative: Mercury = 7th lord in 8th = marriage with change.
Saptamsa (D-7) — Children
- Purpose: Children.
- Child-counting rule in Saptamsa: Find the house in which the marriage house falls (7th in D-7). If that sign is odd → count 11th forward for 1st child. If that sign is even → count 11th backward. Ketu in 7th = reverse exception (always count backward regardless of odd/even).
- Second child = 3rd house from 1st child sign, same direction.
- Example: 7th house Sagittarius (odd sign) → count forward for 1st child. But Ketu in 7th → reverse to backward → 1st child from Aquarius (11th backward from Sagittarius = Aquarius).
- Second marriage counted from 2nd house (8th from 7th).
class-69
D-30 Trimshamsa — Mental and Subconscious Weaknesses
- Purpose: Shows subconscious susceptibilities, root cause of all suffering. In D-30, there is NO Viparita Raja Yoga — dusthana lords always give suffering.
- Moon afflicted in D-30 (by Saturn, Rahu, or Ketu) = vulnerability of the mind to mental problems.
- Moon in D-30 by sign: Aries/Scorpio = anger-based mental weakness; Capricorn/Aquarius (Saturn-ruled) = wandering, unstable mind; Mercury-ruled sign = attachment; Venus-ruled = emotional dependency.
- Practical use: If someone has mental problems, check D-30 for root cause, then D-6 for physical onset.
D-6 Sashtamsa — Physical Disease
- Purpose: Physical onset of disease. In D-6, there is NO Viparita Raja Yoga — 6th/8th/12th lords always show suffering.
- Mars and Saturn sitting in Sashtamsa Lagna = not auspicious for health.
- Parya Dasha specific to D-6: used for timing health crises. Rules for Parya Dasha lords: count planets with the sign lord (more planets = stronger lord); dispositor breaks tie.
- Roga Sahama and Bandhana Sahama in annual chart: identify when disease and hospitalization manifest.
Navamsa (D-9) — Protection Strength
- Navamsa = inherent protection from past karma (Purva Punya). If Navamsa shows weak Moon (e.g., in Marana Karaka Sthana), even small Rashi afflictions cause big problems.
- Moon as 9th lord in 8th house of Navamsa = Marana Karaka Sthana = no protection from mind-related problems.
Sixty-fourth Navamsa and Twenty-second Drekana
- 60th Navamsa = the Navamsa occupied by the 8th house cusp (exact degree). Formula: 7×9+1 = 64th Navamsa from Lagna.
- 22nd Drekana = Drekana occupied by 8th house cusp. Formula: 7×2+1 = 15th? Actually 22nd per PVR: 2+18+2 = 22.
- General formula for nth house cusp in DN division: (M-1)×N + 1 where M = house number.
- Significance: The lord of the 64th Navamsa and 22nd Drekana can kill (Maraka) or give life-threatening suffering. More important than 2nd/7th lords for identifying actual Maraka per Jataka Parijata.
- Khara Point: 8th house cusp. Can be extended to any house: 9th house cusp = Bhagya point. Lord of Dasamsa occupied by 9th house cusp = very important for career destiny.
class-70
Dasamsa (D-10) — Rectification via Career
- Technique: Use known career facts to confirm Dasamsa Lagna. Leo vs. Cancer Dasamsa Lagna tested against financial analyst career.
- Cancer Dasamsa Lagna confirmed: Rahu in 3rd house (excellent placement), Mercury as Upaya lord going to Lagna, Jupiter in 4th house aspecting 10th, 9th lord aspecting 10th → independence in career.
- Rahu in 7th/12th from Arudha Lagna = Rajayoga for material prosperity (per Parashara).
Vimshamsa (D-20) — Spirituality Rectification
- Vimshamsa Lagna changes every ~2 minutes; confirmed Scorpio Vimshamsa Lagna for Arun's chart.
- 5th+10th lord conjunction in 7th house of Vimshamsa = spiritual/religious work for society with public recognition.
- Moon as 9th lord in 8th house of Vimshamsa = Marana Karaka Sthana = no inherent religiousness.
- Saturn in 9th house of Vimshamsa = some religiousness through discipline.
Dwadashamsa (D-12) — Parents
- Purpose: See parents. 4th house = mother; 9th house = father.
- Technique: take the parent's house as Lagna, read that sub-chart for the parent's personality, speech, relationships.
v1 Batch 8 — Classes 71–80
Divisional Charts — Batch 8 (Classes 71–80)
Class 71 — Saptamsha (D7) for Marriage Counting
- Saptamsha for marriages: First marriage = seventh house in Saptamsha. For second marriage (after divorce/death of spouse) = eighth from seventh = second house. For third marriage = eighth from second = ninth house. Counting continues by taking eighth from each prior marriage house.
- Multiple simultaneous wives (polygamy context): Sixth from seventh, sixth from that, etc. (sixth-house progression for accumulation without ending prior relationship).
- UL (Upapada Lagna) in Saptamsha: The UL in Saptamsha signifies each marriage. First marriage = UL itself (seventh house equivalent for marriage). Second UL calculated from second marriage house.
- Children counting in Saptamsha: Count from the marriage house (the relevant house for that marriage). Eleventh from the marriage house = first child. Third from first child = second child (siblings). Direction depends on odd/even sign.
- Deafness in Saptamsha: Third house = ear organ; eleventh house = hearing faculty. Affliction of both = deafness.
- Eyesight in Saptamsha: Second house = eyes (organ); tenth house = vision (faculty). Affliction of both = eyesight problems.
Class 72 — Chaturamsha (D4) for Real Estate
- D4 called Upachamsha or Chaturamsha: The specific divisional for real estate, residence, property, landed assets. Not just current residence — the entire real estate portfolio of a person.
- Narayana Dasha starting point in D4: The Narayana Dasha of D4 starts from the sign containing the fourth lord of the Rashi chart (not the D4 lagna lord). This is the key starting rule specific to D4.
- Arudhas in D4:
- AL (Arudha Lagna) = tangible status from property
- UL = investment/loss related to property
- A4 (Griha Pada) = the actual home/residence
- A6 = loans taken for property
- A8 = sudden changes in residence (forced moves, windfalls)
- A9 = luck/bhagya in property dealings
- A11 = gains from property
- Three-parts rule in D4 Narayana Dasha: Same rule as in Rashi — Chara gives results in last one-third, Sthira in middle one-third, Dvisvabhava in first one-third. Saturn exception applies (Saturn's presence can reverse the timing).
- Saturn exception in Narayana Dasha: If Saturn is in the sign giving dasha, the normal three-parts rule is modified; results may come at different sub-periods than expected.
- Malefic vs. benefic dasha for house happiness: Malefic dasha signs = tension, repairs, problems with residence; benefic dasha signs = happiness, comfort, auspicious events in home.
Class 72 — Tithi Pravesh Analysis for D4
- Hora lord in Tithi Pravesh: The hora lord at the moment of Tithi Pravesh (annual chart) acts as a key indicator for that year's events. Jupiter as hora lord in D4 Tithi Pravesh in fourth house = strong year for home acquisition.
- Dasha Pravesh D4 chart: The Dasha Pravesh chart (chart cast for the beginning of a Narayana Dasha period) shows the quality of signs within that Dasha. The sign in Dasha Pravesh D4 that has the most auspicious yogas becomes the likely Antardasha for property events.
- Linking D4 and D2 (Hora): A property fortune in D4 may show up as an investment/expenditure in D2. The sign axis with excellent yoga in D4 — if placed in twelfth and sixth in D2 — shows it will be experienced as a major expense and loan rather than a windfall.
Class 73 — Comprehensive D-Series Review
- D1 (Rashi): Overall life, body, personality.
- D2 (Hora): Wealth, finances.
- D3 (Drekkana): Siblings, initiative, efforts.
- D4 (Chaturamsha/Upachamsha): Property, real estate, residence.
- D7 (Saptamsha): Children, marriages.
- D9 (Navamsa): Dharma, spouse, spiritual protection, Ishta Devata.
- D10 (Dashamsha): Career, public life, professional achievement.
- D12 (Dwadashamsha): Parents, ancestors.
- D16 (Shodashamsha): Vehicles, conveyances, comforts.
- D20 (Vimshamsha): Spiritual practices, upasana.
- D24 (Chaturvimshamsha/Siddhamsha): Education, learning, achievements.
- D27 (Saptavimshamsha/Bhamsha): Strength and weakness, physical vitality.
- D30 (Trimshamsha): Misfortunes, evils, accidents.
- D40 (Khavedamsha): Auspicious/inauspicious effects, maternal legacy.
- D45 (Akshavedamsha): Paternal legacy, moral conduct.
- D60 (Shastiamsha): Overall karma, past life influence — the most important divisional after D9.
- MKS (Marana Karaka Sthana) in Vargas: MKS is calculated from the Karya Bhava (relevant house) of each divisional chart, not from the lagna. For Navamsa: seventh house is Karya Bhava. For Dashamsha: tenth house is Karya Bhava.
Class 74 — Special Dasha Applicability by Divisional Chart
- Chaturthi Samudricha Dasha: A special dasha applicable to specific divisional charts; not always as reliable as Vimshottari.
- Saptamsha Samudricha Dasha: Applied to D7 for marriage and children timing.
- Chadrasimha Samudricha Dasha: Another special dasha system used in Jaimini context.
- Vimshottari always reliable: "Vimshottari is always reliable" — it is the gold standard for timing prediction and should always be checked regardless of which other dasha systems are used.
- Lagna rectification using Navamsa dasha: Sarita's case — Libra vs. Scorpio lagna rectification done by checking which lagna makes marriage (Sagittarius dasha) and divorce (Capricorn dasha) in Navamsa Narayana Dasha logical. Scorpio Navamsa lagna made Sagittarius = seventh house (marriage) and Capricorn = eighth house (marriage breakdown) — perfect fit.
Class 75 — D2 (Hora) for Stock Market Analysis
- Kartika Shukla Pratipada Chakra: The chart cast for the first day after Diwali (Kartika Shukla Pratipada) is the financial New Year chart for India — used for stock market and economic predictions for the coming year. This is specifically an annual chart for Jyotisha financial analysis.
- D2 for financial speculation: D2 shows overall financial environment. A8-A11 connection in D2 = gambling/speculation gains. Risk-taking indicators from Mars and eighth house involvement.
- Narayana Dasha of D2: Each sign's Narayana Dasha period in D2 shows phases of financial growth and loss. The three-parts rule applies here too. The specific sign running determines whether financial gains come from profession (Rahu aspects), initiative (Moon-third lord), or accumulated resources (Mercury, lagna lord).
Class 77 — Navamsa (D9) Mapping Mechanics
- Navamsa creation mechanics: The twelve Rashi signs are divided into groups based on their elemental nature. Each element starts from a specific sign and the Navamsas cycle through the zodiac. All twelve Rashi cusps at the same degree (e.g., 3°20') map to the same Navamsa sign.
- Navamsa Trikona-Kendra mapping: The Rashi Dharma Trikona (1st, 5th, 9th) maps to Navamsa Kendras as follows: Dharma (1st/5th/9th) → Navamsa 1st house; Artha (2nd/6th/10th) → Navamsa 10th; Kama (3rd/7th/11th) → Navamsa 7th; Moksha (4th/8th/12th) → Navamsa 4th.
Class 78 — Navamsa Further Details
- Rahu in 10th of Navamsa: Bad for finances throughout life; person struggles with financial stability regardless of other chart indications.
- Malefics in 10th of Navamsa (from Karakamsha or Navamsa lagna): Financial instability, difficulty sustaining career prosperity.
- Navamsa as protection: Navamsa is the "protection that you enjoy based on your dharma from past lives." The devatas who protect you are shown in Navamsa — important for all areas of life.
- Navamsa-Dashamsa link: Most important cross-divisional link. Career success (D10) filtered through divine protection (D9) — same planet strong in both = sustained professional success with God's grace.
- D24-D10 link: Education (D24) and career (D10) interlinked — learning on the job or using academic achievements in career shown by common planets/signs between them.
- D20-D10 link: For spiritual persons, their service to society (D10) connected to their spiritual practice (D20) — a saint's work in the world.
Class 80 — Disease Indicators in Navamsa (Swamsa)
- 4th and 5th from Swamsa: Key houses for disease diagnosis from Karakamsha chart. Planets here reveal predisposition to specific ailments.
- Scorpio as disease sign: Scorpio = stagnant fixed water (gutters, swamps) — diseases connected to water stagnation, sewage, fixed toxic environments.
v1 Batch 9 — Classes 81–90
Divisional Charts — Batch 9 (classes 81–90)
class-87 | D30 — Trimsamsha: Primary Use
Primary use: Mental illness, psychological disorders, and disability.
How to read D30:
- Moon in D30: Debilitation or affliction by Saturn = depletion of mental faculty. Moon in water sign = loss of clarity.
- Mercury in D30: Papakartari (malefics on both sides) = speech/cognitive problems. Mercury in Badhaka sthana = further distortion.
- Ketu in D30: Undiagnosable conditions, unclear etiology. If Ketu is in the 8th house and is the dispositor of Moon-Saturn, it compounds the mental affliction severely.
- Rahu in D30: Unusual, erratic behavior; foreign/unusual causes of the condition.
- Jala rashi planets in D30: Weakness in clarity of thinking.
Case example: Child with autism/mental disability:
- D30: Moon debilitated, Saturn retrograde, both in same sign with Ketu as dispositor in 8th house.
- Papakartari on Mercury in D30.
- Moon in Gandanta in Rashi chart (compounding factor).
- Ketu Dasha + Rahu Antardasha = worst period.
- Venus Dasha expected to bring relief (Venus = Lagna lord, not linked to 6th or 8th).
class-87/88 | D30 Cross-Referencing with D6 (Shashthamsha)
Technique: For disease analysis, the D30 and D6 charts should both confirm the affliction:
- If Moon-Saturn combination appears in both D30 and D6, the disease is confirmed as serious and chronic.
- If it appears in one but not the other, the condition may be milder or transient.
class-88 | D24 — Chaturvimshamsha: Learning Assessment
Use: Education and learning ability, including special needs assessment.
Key factors in D24:
- Lagna and Lagna lord: Overall strength of the person as a learner.
- 4th house and 4th lord: Primary education, foundational learning.
- 9th house and 9th lord: Higher/advanced education.
- A6 and A8 in 4th house: Obstacles, struggles in basic education.
- Mars as controlling factor in 9th: Professional, technical or engineering education.
- Venus as 4th lord exalted (even if afflicted): During Venus Dasha, acceleration of education possible.
Teaching: Even with poor Ketu Dasha (7 years of struggle), if Venus Dasha follows and Venus is strong as 4th lord, there can be a recovery and acceleration in education.
class-87 | Navamsa (D9) — Argala for Marriage Timing
Use: Primary chart for spouse, dharmic life, marriage.
Key Navamsa factors for marriage:
- Argala on: Lagna, 7th, 9th houses, UL (Upapada Lagna), Venus
- Parivartana between Lagna lord and Venus (Yogakaraka for marriage) = powerful indicator
- Saturn's functional nature in Navamsa (if Lagna lord = functional benefic → gives full marriage results)
Parashara's teaching: "Navamsa Kalatunam" — for all matters related to spouse, use the Navamsa directly, not just the Rashi chart.
class-84 | Annual Charts — Tithi Pravesh (Muhurta Charts)
Use: Tracking how a Muhurta event (marriage, job, business) unfolds year by year.
Dasha systems that work in annual Tithi Pravesh charts:
- Thithi Ashtottari: Works best. The Hora Lord (ruler of the year) often gives the primary result even if not the strongest Argala planet. "CEO gives the presentation."
- Vimshottari compressed: Also works; in annual chart each Dasha = months/days, not years.
- Sama Narayana Dasha: 12 equal Dashas, each = 1 month. Works well for annual charts.
- Saptamsha Dasha: Less reliable in annual charts; not recommended as primary tool.
Key principle: In annual charts, use Dasha level (not Antardasha) for primary events, since the compressed Dasha is already equivalent to a natal Antardasha in granularity.
class-89 | D10 — Dasamsa: Career and Boss Analysis
Use: Career, profession, relationship with authority figures.
Key factors:
- 10th house, 10th lord: Career structure and direction
- Sun: Authority, boss, career status
- 6th house: Service, work environment, subordinates
- Argala on the 10th house of D10: Support for career advancement
Teaching in class: A student's D10 was analyzed to determine relationship with boss and prospects for advancement. Dasha of planets with Argala on D10's 10th house = career advancement periods.
class-83/84 | D9 Navamsa — Marriage and Longevity Integration
Multiple uses of Navamsa in classes 82-84:
- Marriage: Argala analysis on Lagna, 7th, 9th, UL, Venus
- Husband's longevity: L7 (Arudha of 7th lord) in Navamsa; Mercury as 7th lord in 7th = strong Maraka for husband
- Fortune: Argala on 9th house in Navamsa = "Bhagya Udaya"
- Annual Navamsa charts: Use annual Tithi Pravesh of the Navamsa chart for spouse-related year analysis
class-87 | D30 — Trimsamsha Elements / Rashi Classification
The 5 elements (Tattwas) in Trimsamsha affect interpretation:
| Element | Signs | Effect when planets placed there |
|---|---|---|
| Agni | Aries, Leo, Sagittarius | Fiery, active manifestation |
| Prithvi | Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn | Material, grounded manifestation |
| Vayu | Gemini, Libra, Aquarius | Airy, communicative manifestation |
| Jala | Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces | Weakness in clarity, emotional turbulence |
| Akasha | (mixed) | Spiritual, etheric |
Key teaching: Planets in Jala (water) signs in D30 show weakness in mental clarity. Moon debilitated (Cancer → Scorpio, both water-heavy) in D30 = poor mental clarity.
class-88 | Rashi Chart vs. Navamsa — When to Use Each
Rule taught:
- For physical, tangible results (health, material career outcomes): look at Rashi chart first.
- For dharmic matters, spouse, spiritual life, inner blessings: Navamsa is primary.
- Any physical improvement (healing from disease) must also be visible in Rashi chart — if Navamsa looks good but Rashi does not, physical improvement is unlikely.
- For Maraka (death) analysis: both Rashi and Navamsa must confirm; natal Rashi chart for overall longevity, annual Tithi Pravesh chart for timing within a year.
v1 Batch 10 — Classes 91–100
Divisional Charts — Batch 10 (classes 91–100)
Divisional — D-1 (Rashi / Kshetra Chakra)
Source: class-100 Purpose: Physical existence; material circumstances; body; tangible physical environment Computation: The base chart; no division How to read: Shows circumstances, environments, and situations at the physical/material level; houses show intangible inner reality; Arudha Padas show tangible external reality Key insight: Parashara called this "Kshetra Chakra" (chart of the field/body), not "Rashi Chakra." The original verse reads "Kshetra dehasya vijnanam" — corrupted in some manuscripts to "Lagne dehasya vijnanam" Tips:
- Do NOT treat Rashi as showing everything and divisionals as microscopic views — this is wrong
- Rashi shows physical existence only; everything else requires divisional charts
- Weakness in Rashi 4th/5th does NOT automatically mean learning/education is ruined — D24 must be checked independently
- Strength in Rashi in Dasa Varga = 3 points (out of 20 total in Vimshapaka Bala)
Divisional — D-2 (Hora)
Source: class-100 Purpose: Financial environment; wealth circumstances Computation: Each sign divided into 2 parts (15° each); Sun's Hora and Moon's Hora Key: Parashara says "hora yam sampadarthikam" — Hora shows wealth matters Tips: Used for financial analysis; not a microscopic view of Rashi wealth — it's the wealth environment
Divisional — D-3 (Drekkana)
Source: class-100 Purpose: Sibling environment; co-born relationships Computation: Each sign divided into 3 parts (10° each) Key: Parashara says "sibling environment" from Drekkana Tips: For sibling analysis and analysis of courage/initiative (3rd house domain)
Divisional — D-6 (Shashtamsa / Shashthamsha)
Source: class-93 Purpose: Health analysis; disease patterns; immune strength Computation: Each sign divided into 6 parts (5° each) How to read:
- Use D6 Lagna and house positions for health domains
- Sun = bones/vitality; Moon = pranas/fluids; 6th house = diseases; 8th = chronic/life-threatening conditions
- Surya Dasha (Sun dasha) recommended alongside D6 for timing health events
- Must reconcile D6 with Rashi — e.g., Sun in Rashi 8th with malefics + same affliction in D6 = confirmed health issue Key: Health analysis belongs primarily to D6, not Rashi — even if Rashi 6th is clean, D6 afflictions indicate health problems Tips: Moon-Rahu in D6 = mental/emotional health issues; cross-reference with Rashi for confirmation
Divisional — D-9 (Navamsa)
Source: class-91, class-99, class-100 Purpose: Dharmic environment; spouse/marriage environment; overall fortune (bhagya) Computation: Each sign divided into 9 parts (3°20' each); starts from the sign in each element group How to read:
- Navamsa Lagna = dharmic self; how the person approaches duty/fortune
- 7th in Navamsa = actual nature of spouse (beyond physical description in Rashi)
- Vargottama (same sign in Rashi and Navamsa) = strong planet or strong Lagna Key: Strength in Dasa Varga = 1.5 points; but in Dasa Varga total, Rashi (3) + Navamsa (1.5) = 4.5 points combined — still less than D60 alone (5 points) Tips:
- Rashi Tulya Navamsa technique: treat planet's Navamsa sign as D9 Lagna for that planet (class-91)
- Navamsa Tulya Rashi: treat planet's Navamsa sign as Rashi Lagna (class-91)
- These transposition techniques give additional layers of reading
Divisional — D-10 (Dashaamsa)
Source: class-91, class-100 Purpose: Professional environment; career; status; karma/action Computation: Each sign divided into 10 parts (3° each) How to read:
- D10 Lagna and 10th house = career domain
- 10th lord in D10 = MORE important than 10th lord in Rashi for career specifics
- Arudha Lagna in D10 = public career image
- 10th from D10 Lagna = Mana (respect/honour in career); malefic here = professional accusations
- 2nd lord in 12th in D10 = resourceful but money always reinvested (never accumulates) Key: Parashara says "professional environment" from Dashaamsa Tips: Always prefer D10 analysis over Rashi for career-specific questions; Rashi 10th gives physical career circumstances, D10 gives professional environment
Divisional — D-20 (Vimshamsa)
Source: class-100 Purpose: Religious environment; spiritual practices; deity worship Computation: Each sign divided into 20 parts (1°30' each) How to read: Examine for strength of spiritual practices, religious upbringing, connection to temples/traditions Key: Parashara says "religious environment" from Vimshamsa Tips: For assessing whether the native's spiritual practice is genuine and supported
Divisional — D-24 (Siddhamsha / Chaturvimshamsa)
Source: class-99, class-100 Purpose: Learning environment; accumulated knowledge; education; scholarship Computation (corrected — class-99):
- Odd signs: proceed FORWARD (Aries → Taurus → Gemini → ...)
- Even signs: proceed IN REVERSE (Cancer → Gemini → Taurus → ... → Leo) — THIS IS THE CORRECTION
- Most software uses forward direction for even signs = WRONG; D24 is computed incorrectly in many programs How to read:
- D24 Lagna = learning environment and scholarly environment
- 5th house in D24 = accumulated learning ability
- 4th house in D24 = learning circumstances (teachers, schools, books)
- D24 is independent of Rashi 5th — a weak Rashi 5th does NOT mean D24 is weak Key: "Siddhantsa shows environment of knowledge, learning environment" — Parashara Tips:
- PVR discovered the even-sign reversal correction by working backward from known results
- This correction explains why D24 readings were giving wrong results for many practitioners
- Always verify that your software implements the corrected algorithm
Divisional — D-40 (Khavedamsha)
Source: class-100 Purpose: Maternal ancestral karma; results coming to native due to karma of maternal lineage Computation: Each sign divided into 40 parts (0°45' each) How to read: Shows the karmic inheritance from mother's side — blessings or curses from maternal ancestors Key: Part of Sodasa Varga (16-chart scheme); more important in royal charts but relevant for everyone Tips: Up to 7 generations of maternal karma can impact the native; royal-chart natives (politicians, presidents' descendants) must use Sodasa Varga
Divisional — D-45 (Akshavedamsha)
Source: class-100 Purpose: Paternal ancestral karma; results coming to native due to karma of paternal lineage Computation: Each sign divided into 45 parts (0°40' each) How to read: Shows the karmic inheritance from father's side — blessings or curses from paternal ancestors Key: Part of Sodasa Varga; especially important for royal/high-status lineages Tips: George Bush's grandchildren should be read with Sodasa Varga (including D40/D45) because the wars initiated by George Bush = massive karma affecting descendants for several generations
Divisional — D-60 (Shashtiamsha)
Source: class-100 Purpose: The supreme chart — accumulated sanchita karma that MUST be experienced in this life; the "why" behind all life events Computation: Each sign divided into 60 parts (0°30' each); Lagna changes every 2 minutes — requires precise birth time How to read:
- D60 Lagna = the karmic self entering this life
- Each house shows the type of karma to be experienced in that domain
- All other charts (D1–D59) show the environments through which the D60 karma is lived
- D60 is the medium-independent substrate — everything ultimately traces back here Key (Parashara's statement): "Shashtiamsha akhilam ikshayet" — "May astrologers see everything in Shashtiamsha" — this is the ONLY chart for which Parashara says "see everything"; not even Rashi gets this distinction Strength in Dasa Varga: 5 points — highest of all charts; more than Rashi (3) + Navamsa (1.5) combined Tips:
- Twins with identical D1–D9 but different D60 will have very different lives — proves D60's supreme importance
- Rectify birth time to within 2 minutes before relying on D60
- What D60 shows is not changeable — it is the karma that MUST be experienced; remedies can change the medium (which environment), not the karma itself
📗 v2 Series — 99 classes
v2 Batch 1 — Classes 01–10
Divisional Charts — Batch 1 (Classes 01–10)
DC-001 · D1 — Rasi Chart (Lagna Chart)
Source: class-01 through class-10 Purpose: The primary chart for all life events. Shows overall life, body, personality, general destiny. Computation: The actual birth chart based on planetary positions at birth. Key Technique: Used as the foundation; all other divisional charts must be supported by D1 before giving results. "The Rasi chart is the basis; Tithi Pravesh is a fluctuation over that basis." PVR Note: Every combination in divisional charts must find some echo in the Rasi chart to fully manifest. A yoga only in D1 is powerful; a yoga only in a divisional chart requires the D1 to support it.
DC-002 · D3 — Drekkana (Dreshkana)
Source: class-07 Purpose: Co-borns (siblings), initiative, courage, short journeys, past-life karma of siblings relationship. Computation: Each sign is divided into 3 parts of 10° each. First drekkana = same sign; second = 5th sign; third = 9th sign. Key Technique (class-07): PVR analyzes P. Kalyan's Drekkana: "What do you see in the Dreshkana? Sun is in the 7th house — that's not really great. Jupiter is in Lagna — a learned person, a guru kind of person, and Jupiter is in Anantamsa. What is Anantamsa? Spiritual enlightenment." Vaiseshikamsa in D3: Anantamsa (Anta = spiritual) shows spiritual enlightenment potential via the karma of co-borns/past-life sibling connections.
DC-003 · D4 — Chaturthamsa (Chaturamsa)
Source: class-04, class-08 Purpose: Fixed assets, land, property, house, vehicles, comforts — all 4th house matters. Computation: Each sign is divided into 4 parts of 7°30' each. The amsha falls in the same sign, 4th, 7th, or 10th from the natal sign. Key Technique (class-04): PVR uses Chaturthamsa to determine whether a man (Sep 1, 1955, 5:30 PM, Musheerabad) should move to North Carolina: analyzes the Lagna in D4 and whether the D4 supports change of residence. Key Technique (class-08): For Vijaya Puttukayala's house-sale timing, PVR cross-references D4 with D1 and Drik Saptadasha to pinpoint when the property transaction would complete.
DC-004 · D7 — Saptamsa
Source: class-07, class-10 Purpose: Children, grandchildren, fertility, procreative power. Computation: Each sign divided into 7 parts of 4°17'8.6" each. Key Technique (class-07): Children are analyzed in Saptamsa alongside the 5th house of D1 and D9. The specific child (1st, 2nd, 3rd) corresponds to specific house lagnas in the D7. Key Technique (class-10): "If you want happiness with respect to one child, health of one child, you can take the Lagna corresponding to that child in the Saptamsa, take the Lagna lord or ninth lord and propitiate." Mapping of Children to Houses:
- 1st child → lagna of D7
- 2nd child → 2nd house of D7 (or use the 7th house for the complement)
- Subsequent children → sequential houses
DC-005 · D9 — Navamsa
Source: class-01, class-05, class-07, class-10 Purpose: Dharma, marriage, spiritual path, strength of planets, deity chart (for Ishta/Palana Devata), inner character. Computation: Each sign divided into 9 parts of 3°20' each. Key Technique — Vargottama: A planet in the same sign in both D1 and D9 is Vargottama — extremely strong, its D1 results are supercharged. Key Technique — Ishta Devata: The 12th house from Atmakaraka in Navamsa shows the Ishta Devata (deity for moksha/liberation). The lord of that 12th house shows the specific form. Key Technique — Palana Devata: The 6th lord from Amatyakaraka in Navamsa shows the Palana Devata (deity for sustenance and worldly success). Key Technique — Darakaraka in D9: "If you look at the 7th house from Darakaraka in Navamsa, that shows the Devata who will be protecting you in all your dealings, whether it's wife or partners or whatever." (class-10) Key Technique — Karma Devata: Take the 10th house from Atmakaraka in Navamsa → planet there shows the deity for career success. Lagna Varottama: If D1 lagna = D9 lagna sign, the chart is Varottama — use Chatardasha (Satabdi Dasha) instead of Vimshottari.
DC-006 · D10 — Dashamsha
Source: class-04, class-10 Purpose: Career, profession, worldly achievements, social status, public life, Dasamsa Yoga. Computation: Each sign divided into 10 parts of 3° each. Key Technique (class-04): PVR analyzes the man moving to NC using Dashamsha to see if his career supports the move. Key Technique (class-10): Full Dashamsha analysis for CA businessman:
- 10th lord Venus in Lagna (Adhimitra sthana of Saturn) → auspicious career Dasamsa
- "Natural benefics (Jupiter and Venus) in Lagna... Lagna gets a strength of its own"
- "Tenth lord being in Lagna, if they are benefics for the Lagna, they will do immense good"
- Mars as 8th and 11th lord in 7th → connects all Kama Trikonas → businessman's chart
- A7 in 10th house in D10 → "likely to be involved in a lot of partnerships" Functional malefics in D10: Must calculate separately based on D10 lagna, not D1 lagna.
DC-007 · D20 — Vimshamsha (Vimshamsa)
Source: class-07 Purpose: Spiritual progress, sadhana, upasana, religious practices, spiritual experiences. Computation: Each sign divided into 20 parts of 1°30' each. Key Technique (class-07): PVR analyzes P. Kalyan's Vimshamsha:
- 5th house in D20 shows upasana (worship practice)
- 8th house in D20 shows Tapascharya (austerity)
- 9th house = Devata Sthana (place of deity)
- "Rahu is aspecting the 5th house and he's also in the 9th house of Devata Sthana — Rahu is the real god for him"
- "Even though he's not in the 5th house, Rahu is aspecting the 5th house... so my guess is Rahu is the real deity" Parivartana in D20: Rahu-Venus exchange in Vimshamsha → Venus and Rahu become interchangeable, making Rahu more important as Ishta indicator. Rajasic vs Tamasic influence in D20: Rajasic planets (Mercury, Venus, Moon in rajas signs) in 5th/8th of D20 → desire-driven sadhana. Tamasic planets (Saturn, Mars) → austerity-based sadhana.
DC-008 · D24 — Siddhamsha (Chaturvimshamsha)
Source: class-05 (implied in "Mandi definition" context) Purpose: Education, formal learning, academic achievement, learning of scriptures. Computation: Each sign divided into 24 parts of 1°15' each. Key Technique: Analyze in conjunction with D1's 4th house (education), 5th house (intelligence), and Mercury's placement.
DC-009 · D6 — Shashthamsha (Sashtamsa)
Source: class-10 Purpose: Health, disease, enemies, debts, obstacles. Computation: Each sign divided into 6 parts of 5° each. Key Technique (class-10): PVR uses Sashtamsa (D6) to assess health for the CA businessman's 2009–10 annual period:
- "The ruler of the year is weak, debilitated in Lagna. Mandi is there. Rahu-Ketu are in Lagna. Sixth lord is there. And lagna lord Mercury is in the sixth house with the eighth lord. So Sashtamsa is also showing some disease."
- Cross-referencing D6 with Tithi Pravesh amplifies the health warning.
DC-010 · Tithi Pravesh (Annual Chart)
Source: class-01, class-04, class-06, class-07, class-08, class-10 Purpose: Annual predictions — events and themes for the 12-month period from birthday to birthday (solar return based on tithi, not solar longitude). Computation: NOT the same as Western solar return. Tithi Pravesh is the moment when the same tithi (lunar day) and same paksha (lunar fortnight) of one's birth repeats each year. The lagna for that moment becomes the annual lagna. Key Techniques:
- The Hora Lord at birth moment = the "ruler of the year" who sets the overall tone
- Sub-periods within the annual chart correspond to dasha-like periods for each month
- Comparing annual chart lagna to natal chart lagna: if same combinations repeat → those natal indications manifest that year
- For timing within the year: use Hora Lord's sub-periods + Gochara transits PVR's method (class-10 CA chart):
- "I strongly advise him to work out all the details, finish all the paperwork, and make sure this happens in the November 19 to 25 timeframe — that will be very auspicious for him during Sun Dasha."
- Sun Dasha within the upcoming annual chart = first ~6 days after new year starts (Nov 19 onwards)
v2 Batch 2 — Classes 11–20
Divisional Charts – Batch 2 (Classes v11–v20)
Dasamsa (D10) – Career and Karma Chart
- class:: v15, v20
- Shows the nature and quality of one's karma and professional life
- 10th house and 10th lord in D10 are primary indicators for career success
- BPHS 10th house verses taught from D10 perspective (v20)
- Dasamsa Lagna is highly sensitive: changes every ~15 seconds of birth time
- Rectification by marriage (Navamsa) does NOT lock down Dasamsa Lagna — they can differ
D10 Analysis Points (from v15 example – Scorpio Lagna bank assistant manager)
- Dasamsa Lagna: Leo (possible; Cancer if time 15 seconds earlier)
- Leo Lagna more appropriate: Lagna lord Sun in 10th = authority position, fits bank career
- Sun afflicted by Saturn (6th lord) in D10 → trouble from bosses, workplace politics
- Venus (10th lord in D1) in 11th with Jupiter → Raja Yoga; banking/finance career confirmed
- Argument for Leo over Cancer: woman in authoritative position in bank; Sun as Lagna lord in 10th fits
Key Rules from BPHS 10th House (taught in context of D10)
- class:: v20
- 10th lord strong, own/exaltation sign/amsa → famous, paternal happiness, good deeds
- 10th lord weak → karma vaikalya (handicapped work, obstacles)
- 10th lord in 8th with Rahu → hates people, foolish, evil deeds
- 10th lord with Jupiter exalted + 9th lord in 10th → brave, dharmic, greatly respected
- 10th and 11th lords exchanging or in mutual Kendras → comfortable happy life
- Sun + Mars + Rahu + Saturn in 11th → no fruits from labor, doesn't finish what he starts
- Rahu in Kendra/Trikona + weak 10th lord → skilled in elaborate Vedic rituals
- Rahu in 10th (classical): person goes on pilgrimages to many temples
Navamsa (D9) – Soul Chart, Marriage and Spirituality
- class:: v11, v15, v18
- Primary chart for: marriage events, Atmakaraka analysis, Ishta Devata, spiritual orientation
- Rectification by marriage confirms Navamsa Lagna, NOT Dasamsa
- Satabdi Dasha condition: Navamsa Lagna = Rasi Lagna
- 12th from Atmakaraka in Navamsa = Ishta Devata
- Lagna in 12th from Atmakaraka in Navamsa = inherently spiritual person
Navamsa and Chart Rectification
- class:: v15, v18
- Marriage event timing confirms Navamsa Lagna with more reliability than most other events
- Two adjacent Dasamsa Lagnas can share the same Navamsa Lagna (time difference of ~15 seconds shifts D10 but not D9)
- Always separate D9 and D10 verification in rectification work
Chaturthamsa (D4) – Property and Fixed Assets
- class:: v11
- Used for analysis of property matters (house purchase, sale, real estate)
- A4 (Arudha of 4th) in D1 shows tangible image of one's property/home
- A11 (Arudha of 11th) shows material gains
- Dirdasha applied to D4 for timing property events (house sale example – Srinivas Krovi)
- Mutual quadrant of A4 and A11 = auspicious (gains from property)
Vimsamsa (D20) – Spiritual Progress
- class:: v11, v12
- Shows the quality and nature of one's spiritual practices
- Rahu or Ketu in 8th house of D20 → psychic abilities, occult perception, paranormal gifts
- D20 examined for Tapas Yoga, Pravrajya Yoga verification
- Swami Sivananda's D20: strong spiritual indicators confirmed by this chart
Trimsamsa (D30) – Health, Subconscious, Past-Life
- class:: v15, v16
- Primary uses:
- Health vulnerabilities and disease patterns
- Subconscious tendencies and psychological issues
- Past-life sins and karmic debts
- Tattva (element) affliction in D30 determines the type of health problem:
- Fire tattva (Agni) afflicted → problems with bones, vitality, eyesight
- Earth tattva (Prithvi) afflicted → problems with stability, muscles
- Water tattva (Jala) afflicted → problems with fluids, blood, lymph
- Air tattva (Vayu) afflicted → problems with nervous system, breath
- Ether (Akasha) afflicted → problems with spaces in body (sinuses, ears, channels)
- Each planet in D30 occupies a sign owned by one of the five elements
- Malefics in D30 in specific tattva signs indicate those systems are vulnerable
Hora Chart (D2)
- class:: v16, v17
- Hora Lagna is used in the three-parts longevity calculation
- Hora Lagna sign type (mobile/fixed/dual) = one of three life-length components
- If Hora Lagna is in a mobile sign → contributes "long life" component
Chaturthamsa and Arudhas
- class:: v11
- A4 and A11 in mutual Kendras in D4 = auspicious for property gains
- A10 (Arudha of 10th) and A11 in mutual quadrants = auspicious for career and gains image
Notes on Using Multiple Divisional Charts
- class:: v15, v16
- Always start with Rasi (D1) for overall assessment
- Use relevant divisional chart for specific topic: D4 for property, D10 for career, D9 for marriage, D20 for spirituality, D30 for health
- Divisional charts are lenses — each reveals a specific layer of experience
- Dasamsa is sensitive; treat with care until birth time is rectified to seconds
v2 Batch 3 — Classes 21–30
Divisional Charts — Batch 3 (v21–v30)
Divisional — D1 (Rasi / Birth Chart)
- Source: class-21 through class-30, throughout
- Purpose: Physical plane; the body, physical health, material life, all foundational significations
- Computation: The zodiac as-is; no division
- How to read: All primary significations come from here; other divisional charts are "planes of existence" that overlay the Rasi
- Key: Lagna lord placement = intelligence direction in physical life; AL = public image; house lords in houses = BPHS-style results
- Tips: Always start here; Rasi shows the overall life pattern and long-term tendencies; short-term fluctuations are from annual charts and divisional charts
Divisional — D6 (Sashtamsa / Shashtamsa)
- Source: class-22, class-26, class-30
- Purpose: Health and disease analysis; THE primary chart for physical ailments, chronic conditions, and health crises
- Computation: Each sign divided into 6 parts of 5° each; each part maps to a sign
- How to read:
- 6th lord, 8th lord, 12th lord placement in D6 = disease indicators
- Badhaka lord in 8th or 12th in D6 = serious health obstruction
- 7th lord in 8th = Maraka for health in D6
- CRITICAL: Viparita Raja Yoga does NOT apply in D6 — 6th/8th/12th exchanges = health afflictions
- Key: Cross-reference with D30 (Trimsamsa) for confirmation of health problems
- Tips: Always check D6 and D30 together for any health prediction; if both show bad placements = confirmed serious health issue; if only one shows it = moderate issue
Divisional — D10 (Dasamsa)
- Source: class-21, class-22, class-29
- Purpose: Career, profession, karma in the world
- Computation: Each sign divided into 10 parts of 3° each
- How to read:
- D10 Lagna lord placement = professional intelligence direction
- 5th + 10th lords together = teaching/spiritual career
- Saturn in D10 with malefics = bad professional karma
- D10 Lagna is highly sensitive to birth-time errors (must rectify carefully)
- Key: Confirm D10 Lagna by matching to career events; even 2-3 minute birth-time difference can change D10 Lagna
- Tips: When analyzing career, always check D10 alongside Rasi 10th house; D10 may show the specific nature of career even when Rasi gives general direction
Divisional — D12 (Dvadasamsa)
- Source: class-22 (referenced)
- Purpose: Parents; relationship with father and mother; inherited family karma
- Computation: Each sign divided into 12 parts of 2°30' each
- How to read: Lagna lord position relative to 4th (mother) and 9th/10th (father) in D12 shows quality of parental relationships and inherited traits
- Key: 9th and 10th house condition in D12 for father; 4th house for mother
- Tips: Cross-reference with natal 4th and 9th houses; D12 gives karmic depth of parental connection
Divisional — D16 (Shodasamsa)
- Source: referenced (class-22 context)
- Purpose: Vehicles, conveyances, comforts, luxuries
- Computation: Each sign divided into 16 parts of 1°52'30" each
- How to read: Condition of 4th house matters in D16 for conveyances; Venus (karaka for vehicles) position
- Key: Vehicle accidents or vehicle-related blessings shown here
- Tips: Relevant when client asks about vehicle purchase, accident, or travel
Divisional — D20 (Vimshamsa)
- Source: class-22 (referenced in annual chart analysis, Visakhapatnam native)
- Purpose: Spiritual life, worship, upasana, religious practices
- Computation: Each sign divided into 20 parts of 1°30' each
- How to read: 5th house in D20 for mantra and devotion; 9th house for spiritual path; Lagna lord = spiritual self's intelligence direction
- Key: If Venus and Mercury in 12th of D20 = some spiritual obstacles in that year
- Tips: Used for assessing spiritual practice quality and timing of spiritual breakthroughs; cross-reference with Navamsa for dharmic confirmation
Divisional — D24 (Chaturvimshamsa / Siddhamsa)
- Source: class-24, class-25, class-29
- Purpose: Education, learning, intellect, academic achievements, examinations
- Computation: Each sign divided into 24 parts of 1°15' each
- How to read:
- Check for Guru Chandala Yoga (Jupiter+Rahu) — disrupts education
- Moon + Rahu in Badhakasthana of D24 = severe learning obstacles
- Narayana Dasha from D24's 4th lord for education timing
- AL + A5 in same sign in Narayana Dasha = exam success period
- Key: The specific Dasha for D24 education = Narayana Dasha from 4th lord (not regular Vimshottari)
- Tips: For exam timing: check Venus Dasha + sub-period when AL and A5 are in same sign
Divisional — D27 (Saptavimshamsa)
- Source: class-22 (referenced)
- Purpose: Strength and weaknesses; physical and mental vitality
- Computation: Each sign divided into 27 parts (one part per nakshatra)
- How to read: Planet's strength in D27 shows the vitality of its significations; benefics strong in D27 = robust life areas
- Key: Physical stamina and resilience shown here
- Tips: Useful for athletes and health assessments
Divisional — D30 (Trimsamsa)
- Source: class-22, class-26
- Purpose: Subconscious tendencies, health problems, karma that is "below the surface"; also used for disease analysis
- Computation: Each sign divided into 5 unequal parts (ruled by Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury, Venus); opposite for odd/even signs
- How to read:
- 8th lord in 7th = Maraka in D30
- Cross-reference with D6 for health confirmation
- D30 shows "subconscious" level of health problems — what is hidden below symptoms
- Key: "D6 and D30 together showing bad = confirmed health crisis"; if only D6 shows bad, problem is more physical; if only D30, more psychosomatic
- Tips: Also used for assessing female charts' morality and subconscious tendencies (traditional use); modern application = karmic health analysis
Divisional — D60 (Sashtiamsa)
- Source: referenced (class-22 context)
- Purpose: Karma from past lives; the deepest karmic imprints; overall life quality assessment
- Computation: Each sign divided into 60 parts of 0°30' each; each part has a specific deity/name
- How to read: The Sashtiamsa a planet falls in gives its deepest karmic quality (auspicious or inauspicious by name/deity)
- Key: Used when other divisional charts don't explain an event — D60 reveals the karmic seed
- Tips: Birth time must be extremely accurate (within seconds) for D60 to be reliable
Key D6 Rules Summary (PVR teaching, class-26)
| D6 Placement | Health Meaning |
|---|---|
| 7th lord in 8th | Maraka for health |
| Badhaka lord in 8th | Serious obstruction |
| Badhaka lord in Badhakasthana | Hard-to-diagnose problems |
| 6th/8th/12th lord in 6th/8th/12th | Disease affliction (NOT Viparita yoga) |
| Malefic in Lagna of D6 | Direct bodily affliction |
Annual Chart Divisional Analysis (Visakhapatnam native, class-26)
- When analyzing annual chart health: check D6, D30, and D20 for the Dasha lord's condition
- If Dasha lord is malefic in D6 AND D30 = confirmed health suffering that year
- If Dasha lord is favorable in D6 but not in Rasi = moderate issue only
- If Dasha lord shows sudden change in D8 (Ashtamsa) → unexpected health events possible
v2 Batch 4 — Classes 31–40
Divisional Charts — Batch 4 (classes 31–40)
D-Chart 31.1 — Saptamsa (D-7) for Children and Fecundity
- Source: class-33, class-34, class-40
- Division factor: 7 (each sign divided into 7 equal parts of 4°17')
- Primary use: Children, fertility, reproduction; for mundane charts, used to assess quality of planetary Dashas
- Key teaching (class-33): The BPHS verse for 5L in 6H (Gnimanta Yoga — sharp intelligence) does NOT directly translate to Saptamsa. In Saptamsa, the same combination (5L in 6H in D-7) reads specifically about the children situation, not about the native's own intelligence. The context shifts entirely because D-7 is a children-specific chart.
- Exception noted by PVR: "When you look at the Saptamsa, the context is children. The same verse from BPHS — when it applies in Saptamsa, the results will be about children. So fifth lord in sixth in Saptamsa will give different results than in Rashi for the person's own intelligence."
D-Chart 31.2 — Purushottama Saptamsa (Mundane)
- Source: class-40
- What it is: A special designation within the Saptamsa (D-7) indicating a particularly "thesis" or problematic quality for a planet in the mundane chart context.
- Usage: In Lunar New Year charts, when a planet falls in Purushottama Saptamsa, its Dasha period for that year will tend to show undesirable or difficult themes.
- Context: Applied by PVR when assessing the quality of each planet's Dasha in the 2009 US Lunar New Year chart.
D-Chart 31.3 — Kandaka Saptamsa (Mundane)
- Source: class-40
- What it is: A special designation within D-7 for planets in the "fall" position — particularly weakened or crisis-inducing in their Dasha.
- Effect: Planets in Kandaka Saptamsa cause falls, crises, and collapses during their Dasha period in the mundane chart.
- Example: Sun and Moon in Kandaka Saptamsa in the 2009 US chart = their Dasha periods (Aug–Oct and Dec–Feb) are particularly problematic for the US government and public.
D-Chart 32.1 — Navamsa (D-9) for Blessings, Dharma, and Foreign Relations
- Source: class-40
- Division factor: 9 (each sign divided into 9 equal parts of 3°20')
- Primary use in mundane (class-40): In Lunar New Year charts, Navamsa shows blessings, dharmic quality, and foreign relations for the country.
- Example (India 2009): In the Navamsa for India's 2009 Lunar New Year chart, Jupiter (9th lord in Rashi) is in the 5th house in Navamsa, forming Gaja Kesari Yoga with Moon. PVR: "Jupiter in D-9 as saviour/protector — Gaja Kesari Yoga is there. India has some divine protection despite the troubles."
- General use: Standard Navamsa analysis applies in the natal context — the 9th divisional chart shows dharma, spouse's true nature, and the cumulative blessings/curses of past karma.
D-Chart 32.2 — Trimshamsa (D-30) for Character, Evils, and Collective Mood
- Source: class-35, class-40
- Division factor: 30 (each sign divided into unequal parts according to Parashari rules)
- Primary uses:
- Natal: Shows inherent character flaws, moral tendencies, hidden evils, diseases
- Mundane: Shows the collective mood, mass psychology, and dominant "evil" (shadripu) operating in the country during the year
- Shadripu mapping in D-30 (class-35): The six internal enemies (kama, krodha, lobha, moha, mada, matsarya) correspond to the divisions of Trimshamsa. The dominant planet/sign in D-30 tells which enemy is most active.
- Mundane use (class-40): PVR checks Trimshamsa of the Lunar New Year chart to assess the collective psychological state of the nation — what kind of collective energy (greed, anger, lust, delusion) will dominate during the year.
D-Chart 33.1 — Dasamsa (D-10) for Politics and Government
- Source: class-40
- Division factor: 10 (each sign divided into 10 equal parts of 3°)
- Primary use in mundane: Career and politics in national/political charts. Shows the government's strength, quality of governance, and political contests.
- Key rule (class-40): In Dasamsa of the Lunar New Year chart:
- 10H = ruling party / government in power
- 3H = opposition party
- Example (India 2009): PVR analyzed the Dasamsa and found the 3H (opposition) was slightly stronger relative to the 10H (ruling party), predicting a hung parliament and coalition reshuffling. This proved accurate — UPA and NDA both needed coalition partners.
D-Chart 33.2 — Rashi (D-1) for the Overall Year (Mundane)
- Source: class-40
- Use in mundane: The base Rashi chart of the Lunar New Year represents the overall themes and events for the country during the year.
- Key features to check (class-40):
- Lagna and Lagna lord condition → overall health of the nation
- Hora lord → primary planetary ruler of the year
- Amavasya Yoga house → area of greatest trouble
- Gandanta Lagna → instability/crisis potential
- Positions of 10H and 3H lords → government vs. opposition balance
D-Chart 34.1 — Special Lagna Charts: VE7 (Venus × 7 Speed Factor)
- Source: class-39
- What it is: Not a traditional divisional chart but a special Lagna constructed in JHora using the Planetary Special Lagna Research feature. Venus is assigned a speed multiplier of 7.
- How it differs from divisional charts: Traditional divisional charts divide the zodiac spatially. VE7 is a time-based construction — Venus is "fast-forwarded" by a factor of 7, placing it in a sign that reflects where Venus would be if the day were 7 times longer. This creates a unique Lagna for each birth chart.
- Purpose: Links Venus (karaka of marriage) to the seventh house (marriage house = speed factor 7) to create a special Lagna for timing marriage.
- Access in JHora: Edit menu → Planetary Special Lagna Research → Planet: Venus, Speed Factor: 7
- Result: The seventh house from VE7 must be linked to the natal Lagna in the operating Dasha/Antardasha for marriage to occur.
D-Chart 34.2 — Isha-3 Dasha System (Mundane Special Dasha)
- Source: class-40
- What it is: A dasha system used specifically for mundane charts. Applied when three or more planets are in kendras from Moon (or from Lagna). "Imsho Three" refers to the Isha (lord-based) system counting from three kendra planets.
- Usage in class: PVR applied Isha-3 dasha from Moon for the US 2009 Lunar New Year chart because there were three or more planets in kendras from the Moon. The result was a dasha sequence that identified Aug–Oct and Dec–Feb as the most problematic periods.
D-Chart 35.1 — Satabdi Dasha Applicability Rule
- Source: class-40
- Definition: Satabdi Dasha (a hundred-year dasha system) applies to a mundane chart when the Lagna lord is in the seventh house.
- Probability: Since the Lagna lord being in the seventh is a roughly 1-in-12 condition, Satabdi Dasha applies in approximately one-twelfth of mundane charts.
- Example (Iran 2009): Mercury is the Lagna lord (Virgo rising) and is in the seventh house (debilitated in Pisces). Therefore Satabdi Dasha is used for Iran's 2009 Lunar New Year chart. "Mercury in seventh, debilitated — Satabdi Dasha applies here."
v2 Batch 5 — Classes 41–50
Divisional Charts — Batch 5 (v2 Classes 41–50)
Divisional — D-1 (Rasi Chart)
Source: v41–v50 (used throughout) Purpose: The fundamental natal chart; shows all life matters at the gross/physical level. Computation: No division. The chart is cast for the exact birth time and place using actual planetary longitudes. How-to-read: Lagna = body, personality, overall life; houses 1–12 cover all life domains; planetary placements, aspects, and yogas are read here first before going to divisional charts. Key: Always interpret D1 first. Divisional charts amplify or specify but do not contradict the D1 without strong reason. Tips: In mundane charts (v41), the D1 of the annual/New Year chart (Lunar New Year / Mesha Sankranti) is interpreted the same way as a natal D1 but for the nation's events during that year.
Divisional — D-4 (Chaturthamsa)
Source: v42, v43 Purpose: Home, property, real estate, residence, homeland vs. foreign lands; also vehicles at a secondary level. Computation: Each sign (30°) is divided into 4 equal parts (7°30' each). Depending on sign type (movable/fixed/dual), each part maps to a specific sign. How-to-read: 4th house and its lord in D4 = home stability; affliction of 4th in D4 = displacement or unhappiness at home; 12th from 4th (i.e., 3rd) occupied by malefics = loss of home/residence. Key: Check if D4 lagna and D1 4th house lord are concordant. If the D4 shows foreign influences strongly (12th or 9th house emphasized), the native likely lives abroad. Tips: For relocation analysis (v42, v43): check if the 4th lord in D4 is well-placed for natal country vs. abroad. A troubled 4th in D4 + A4 affliction in D1 strongly suggests the native will not settle in homeland.
Divisional — D-6 (Shashtamsha)
Source: v42 Purpose: Litigation, legal disputes, enemies, debts, diseases in detail; also routine health matters. Computation: Each sign divided into 6 equal parts (5° each). Parts map to signs based on a traditional scheme (odd signs start from that sign; even signs start from the 7th sign from it). How-to-read: 6th house in D6 = litigation and enemies at their most specific; malefics in 6th of D6 intensify legal troubles. Also examine the 6th lord in D6 for the nature of the dispute. Key: For ongoing lawsuits, the D6 reveals the likely outcome more precisely than D1. Tips: From v42 — Shashi's Moon as 6th lord in D6 placed in 6th house confirmed active litigation. Also check A6 (Arudha of 6th) in D1 to identify the nature of the adversary.
Divisional — D-10 (Dasamsa)
Source: v44 Purpose: Career, profession, status, public role; the most important divisional chart for professional matters. Computation: Each sign divided into 10 parts (3° each). Parts map to signs: odd signs start from that sign itself; even signs start from the 9th sign from it. How-to-read: D10 lagna = professional self; 10th house in D10 = peak career; planets in D10 show how they express in professional life. Strong Sun/10th lord in D10 = leadership. Strong Mercury = technical/analytical career. Key: The Atmakaraka's placement in D10 shows the soul's calling in career. Raja Yogas in D10 indicate professional rise. Tips: From v44 (Kartik) — Mercury and Saturn in D10 showed software/electronics career. Dasamsa must be read in light of D1 10th house analysis; D10 refines but does not replace D1 career analysis.
Divisional — D-12 (Dvadasamsa)
Source: v41 (mentioned in mundane context) Purpose: Parents, ancestral lineage, past karma from parents; also used for assessing parentage and inheritance. Computation: Each sign divided into 12 parts (2°30' each). Parts map in sequence: sign 1 = the natal sign, sign 2 = next sign, etc. How-to-read: 4th house in D12 = mother's specific condition; 9th house = father; natural significators (Moon for mother, Sun for father) in D12 show parental health and longevity. Key: Afflictions in D12 that don't appear in D1 can show hidden ancestral karma affecting the native. Tips: Less frequently analyzed in these classes but part of the complete Parashari divisional chart system.
Divisional — D-16 (Shodashamsa)
Source: v42 Purpose: Vehicles, transport, travel comforts; also mental happiness and inner contentment. Computation: Each sign divided into 16 parts (1°52'30" each). Parts map according to a traditional scheme. How-to-read: 4th house in D16 = mental happiness; 6th house in D16 = vehicle accidents, troubles with transport. Moon's placement in D16 is crucial for mental happiness. Key: For vehicle accident analysis (v42): check the 6th lord in D16. If 6th lord is debilitated, in enemy sign, or aspected by malefics in D16, accidents are likely. Also examine the 4th house (vehicles) for affliction. Tips: From v42 (Shashi) — Moon as 6th lord in D16 explained the vehicle accident. D16 is often consulted whenever the native reports vehicle-related troubles or driving concerns.
Divisional — D-20 (Vimshamsa)
Source: v44 Purpose: Spiritual practices, upasana (devotional worship), religious merit accumulated; shows the deity that suits the native. Computation: Each sign divided into 20 parts (1°30' each). Parts follow a specific sequence of signs. How-to-read: The strong planet in D20 (especially in lagna, 5th, or 9th) shows the preferred path of spiritual practice. The 12th house in D20 shows the Ishta Devata's domain. Key: Check the navamsa of the Atmakaraka (AK) — the 12th house from AK in Navamsa shows the Ishta Devata. The D20 confirms the spiritual path. Tips: From v44 (Kartik) — D20 analysis revealed Venkateshwara (Vishnu) as the Ishta Devata, recommending the Ashtakshari mantra (Om Namo Venktesaya).
Divisional — D-24 (Chaturvimshamsa / Siddhamsha)
Source: v47, v49, v50 Purpose: Education, learning, academic success, knowledge acquisition; the primary chart for all education-related queries. Computation: Each sign divided into 24 parts (1°15' each). Parts follow a specific Parashari sequence starting from Leo for odd signs and Cancer for even signs (or per tradition). How-to-read: D24 lagna = educational identity; 4th house = formal education foundation; 5th house = intelligence and learning; 9th house = higher education; planets in 5th and 9th of D24 directly show scholastic aptitude. Mercury (Budha) as karaka of education — use Budha Lagna technique. Key: Budha Lagna: treat Mercury's position in D24 as an alternate lagna. Planets in strong positions from Budha Lagna confirm educational strength in those areas. Viparita Raja Yoga in D24 (dusthana lord in another dusthana) gives academic excellence despite obstacles. Tips: From v47 (Srini Nita) — D24 showed Libra vs. Scorpio lagna debate; AL in Gemini with A6 showed obstacles to education. From v49/v50 (boy) — D24 Cancer lagna, Jupiter as 9th lord, Viparita RY (3rd+6th lord in 12th from Budha Lagna) confirmed good education outcomes despite early struggles.
Divisional — D-30 (Trimsamsa)
Source: v48 Purpose: Evils, sufferings, misfortunes, disease roots; specifically shows the nature of chronic or severe health/mental problems. Computation: Each sign divided into 30 parts; five planets (excluding Sun and Moon) each rule a portion: Mars (0–5°), Saturn (5–10°), Jupiter (10–18°), Mercury (18–25°), Venus (25–30°) for odd signs; reverse order for even signs. How-to-read: The Trimsamsa lagna and its lord show the overall severity of misfortunes. Malefics clustered in one house in D30 point to that area as the source of greatest suffering. Moon's placement in D30 is critical for mental health. Key: For psychological/mental health analysis: Moon + Saturn + Rahu in D30 = depression and mental suffering. Mercury afflictions in D30 = nervous disorders. Tips: From v48 (Proddatur woman) — D30 had Moon + Mercury + Saturn + Rahu + Ketu all in one house = an extraordinary concentration of suffering explaining suicide attempts. D30 is the final arbiter for understanding why a person suffers severely.
Divisional — D-7 (Saptamsa)
Source: v43 Purpose: Children, grandchildren, fertility, progeny; issues of biological and adoptive children. Computation: Each sign divided into 7 parts (4°17' approximately). Mapping follows a set pattern starting from the sign itself (odd) or 7th sign (even). How-to-read: 5th house in D7 = first child; overall D7 lagna and its lord show fertility. Afflictions in D7 5th house indicate childlessness or child health issues. Key: Jupiter as karaka of children should ideally be well-placed in D7. Rahu or Mars in 5th of D7 can indicate miscarriages or difficulty conceiving. Tips: From v43 (woman returning to India) — Saptamsa analysis was consulted to assess concerns about children while living abroad. D7 is always examined when the native asks about children or fertility.
v2 Batch 6 — Classes 51–60
Divisional Charts — Batch 6 (classes 51–60)
Divisional — D-3 (Drekkana)
- Source: class-51
- Purpose: Health prognosis, siblings, courage, vitality at the level of specific body parts or organ systems. Used in prashna for injury/disease diagnosis.
- Computation: Each sign is divided into 3 parts of 10° each. First drekkana (0–10°) = same sign; second drekkana (10–20°) = 5th from that sign; third drekkana (20–30°) = 9th from that sign.
- How-to-read: Set up the D3 chart with its own lagna, planets, and houses. The D3 lagna represents the constitutional/vitality layer for the specific body region in question. D3 lord's placement, especially relative to 6th, 8th, 12th houses, determines recovery prospects.
- Key: D3 lagna lord in 6th house → poor recovery from disease/injury. Mars as D3 lagna lord in 6th → nerve tissue (majja dhatu) affliction. The specific planet that is D3 lagna lord shows which dhatu is primarily involved.
- Tips: In a prashna context, the D3 chart's lagna lord placement is more diagnostic than the D1. Use D3 specifically when the health question involves a specific body part or organ system. Correlate the D3 lagna sign with which body segment it represents (Aries = head; Taurus = neck; etc.).
Divisional — D-7 (Saptamsa)
- Source: class-60
- Purpose: Children, fertility, grandchildren, creative legacy.
- Computation: Each sign divided into 7 equal parts of 4°17' each. Odd signs: sequence starts from that sign. Even signs: sequence starts from 7th sign.
- How-to-read: D7 lagna = native's fertility/children context. 5th house in D7 = children. Moon in D7 = emotional relationship with children. Saturn transiting D7 Moon = "children Sade Sati" — children-related difficulties.
- Key: Moon in D7 as the domain reference point for transit-based timing. Childbirth timing: when progressed D7 lagna lord or D7 5th lord aligns with stationary outer planet at important divisional longitude.
- Tips: Example in class-60: native born Apr 25 1976, Vijayawada, had child May 5 2004 — D7 timing aligned with stationary planet at D7 lagna lord's longitude.
Divisional — D-9 (Navamsa)
- Source: class-52, class-55, class-60
- Purpose: Dharma, marriage (spouse's qualities), spiritual potential, 9th house matters amplified, inner strengths.
- Computation: Each sign divided into 9 parts of 3°20' each. Signs cycle through all 12 navamsas in a consistent sequence depending on element group.
- How-to-read: Navamsa lagna = spouse's general nature and the native's dharmic character. Planets in D9 show their inner quality vs outer quality (D1). Moon in D9 shows the emotional core of marriage experience. 7th from D9 lagna = spouse's image in marriage context.
- Key: Saturn transiting over the D9 Moon = marital Sade Sati. This is a 7.5-year period of marital strain — separate from the D1 Sade Sati. Navamsa Moon should be noted separately for marriage timing.
- Tips: Jaffna native (class-55): D9 analysis used to confirm marriage and foreign travel indicators. Upapada and UL 2nd house must be cross-referenced with Navamsa 7th for comprehensive marriage picture.
Divisional — D-10 (Dasamsa)
- Source: class-52, class-60
- Purpose: Career, profession, public role, karma in the world, Dasamsa lagna = 10th house matters amplified.
- Computation: Each sign divided into 10 equal parts of 3° each. Odd signs: same sign onwards. Even signs: 9th sign onwards.
- How-to-read: D10 lagna = career identity. 10th house in D10 = peak professional expression. Moon in D10 = emotional engagement with career. Saturn transiting D10 Moon = career Sade Sati.
- Key: Career Sade Sati (Saturn over D10 Moon) is a crucial timing signal for career upheaval, restructuring, or transformation. This lasts ~7.5 years in the career domain. Seshan's chart (class-52): D10 used alongside Vimshottari + Dvisaptamsa to identify career transition windows.
- Tips: JHora 7.4 can display all divisional chart longitudes simultaneously — use this to check D10 Moon position for career Sade Sati calculation. Progressed D10 lagna lord position (using Vimshottari progression) when aspected by a stationary planet = major career event.
Divisional — D-2 (Hora)
- Source: class-52 (brief reference in context of Seshan wealth analysis)
- Purpose: Wealth and financial resources specifically.
- Computation: Each sign divided into 2 halves of 15° each. First hora of odd sign = Sun's hora (Leo quality); second hora of odd sign = Moon's hora (Cancer quality). Reversed for even signs.
- How-to-read: Hora lagna lord's position shows the source and quality of wealth. Sun hora = wealth through authority/government/effort. Moon hora = wealth through public/masses/nourishment.
- Key: Used specifically for wealth-related prashna and for validating 11th from AL gains at a deeper level.
- Tips: Less frequently used than D9/D10 but valuable when wealth questions are the primary focus.
Divisional — D-12 (Dvadasamsa)
- Source: class-57 (brief reference in context of parents/lineage of Shastri Garu chart)
- Purpose: Parents, ancestry, lineage, karmic inheritance from previous births.
- Computation: Each sign divided into 12 equal parts of 2°30' each, cycling through all 12 signs starting from the sign itself.
- How-to-read: D12 lagna lord shows the parental/ancestral context. 9th house in D12 = father; 4th house in D12 = mother. Planets in D12 10th = what the native carries forward from the lineage.
- Key: Referenced in Shastri Garu's chart analysis for understanding his parents' background and the family's health legacy.
- Tips: D12 is useful when BPHS Chapter 30 Upapada analysis raises questions about the spouse's family quality — cross-check with D12 of spouse indicator.
Divisional — All Divisional Longitudes (JHora 7.4 feature)
- Source: class-60
- Purpose: JHora 7.4 introduced a feature to display ALL divisional chart planetary longitudes simultaneously on one screen, eliminating the need to open each divisional chart separately.
- Computation: N/A — this is a software feature, not a calculation method.
- How-to-read: In JHora 7.4, go to the divisional longitudes display. All planets' positions in D1 through D60 (and beyond) are shown as degree values within the respective divisional chart. You can quickly check where a planet falls in D9, D10, D7, etc. without navigating chart-by-chart.
- Key: Critical for the stationary transit technique — you need to know the exact divisional longitude of key planets to check whether a stationary transit is within 1-2° of that position.
- Tips: PVR demonstrated this feature in class-60 to validate marriage and childbirth timing examples. Use the "longitude-based arudha padas" option in JHora 7.4 for more accurate arudha computation (uses precise longitude of lord rather than rounding to sign midpoint).
v2 Batch 7 — Classes 61–70
Divisional Charts — Batch 7 (v61–v70)
Source: PVR Narasimha Rao, BPHS Chapter 33 Classes
Divisional — D-1 (Rasi / Natal Chart)
- Source: Classes 61–70
- Purpose: Overall life results; body constitution; general personality; longevity assessment; primary Dasha reading
- Computation: The natal chart as-is; no division
- How-to-read: Foundation of all analysis; establishes Lagna, Moon sign, planets' natural and functional nature
- Key: Always the primary reference; all other divisional charts are supplements
- Tips: For health problems, begin with Rasi to establish Lagna lord strength; then cross-check D6 and D30. Ayurvedic constitution starts with Lagna sign and planets aspecting Lagna.
Divisional — D-6 (Shashtamsa)
- Source: Classes 63, 70
- Purpose: Physical suffering, diseases, health problems, enemies; detailed body affliction
- Computation: Each sign is divided into 6 parts of 5° each; planets are mapped to specific signs
- How-to-read: Treat D6 Lagna as the body; houses show specific body parts and health domains; 10th house in D6 = vision; 8th house from D6 Lagna = hidden ailments
- Key: A planet that is a functional malefic in D6 (even if benefic in Rasi) will give health problems during its Dasha. Example: Jupiter as Lagna lord in Rasi but 6th lord in D6 with Libra rising = functional malefic; his Dasha triggers illness.
- Tips: There is NO Viparita Raja Yoga in D6. Dusthana lords in dusthanas simply worsen disease, not improve it. Cross-check D6 with D30 for serious chronic conditions. The 10th house in D6 shows vision; afflicted 10th lord and afflicted Sun (vision karaka) together = serious eye problems.
Divisional — D-9 (Navamsa)
- Source: Classes 61, 65
- Purpose: Dharma, marriage, spouse qualities, inner nature, second half of life, spiritual strength
- Computation: Each sign divided into 9 parts of 3°20' each
- How-to-read: Read Karakamsha results from D9 when the topic is marriage or dharma; the 7th from D9 Karakamsha = spouse qualities
- Key: When Parashara says "Swamsha" without specifying context, the default is Navamsa. However, for career results use D10, for spiritual use D20.
- Tips: Many astrologers default all Karakamsha readings to Navamsa — PVR corrects this. Only use D9 when the subject is marriage, dharma, or general character.
Divisional — D-10 (Dasamsa)
- Source: Classes 67, 68, 69
- Purpose: Career, profession, actions in society, work-related events, Amatyakaraka expression
- Computation: Each sign divided into 10 parts of 3° each
- How-to-read: Read 10th from Karakamsha in D10 for career results; Dasha analysis in D10 gives timing of career events
- Key: For job-seeking or career changes, analyze D10 Lagna, D10 Atmakaraka position, and D10 Dasha lord
- Tips: Example from Class 69: Jupiter as 9th lord in D10 going to 12th house = foreign work; Dasha in Jupiter-Mercury-Venus timing in D10 = job prospects abroad
Divisional — D-12 (Dvadasamsa)
- Source: Class 70
- Purpose: Parents (father = 9th house, mother = 4th house), ancestors, inherited karma
- Computation: Each sign divided into 12 parts of 2°30' each
- How-to-read: Take 4th house from Lagna in D12 as mother's Lagna; 9th house as father's; read Dasha from relevant house as Lagna
- Key: In Class 70, D12 was used to check mother's health and potential Maraka Dasha timing; 4th from Lagna in D12 = mother
- Tips: When reading for a parent's health, take 4th house of D12 as that parent's Lagna and read Dasha lord from that Lagna
Divisional — D-20 (Vimshamsa)
- Source: Classes 61, 66, 67, 68, 69
- Purpose: Spiritual life, religious practices, relationship with deities, Ishta Devata, Moksha potential
- Computation: Each sign divided into 20 parts of 1°30' each
- How-to-read: Read Karakamsha results for spiritual matters from D20; 12th from Atmakaraka in D20 = Ishta Devata indicator; 8th from AK in D20 = sadhana type; 6th from Amatyakaraka in D20 = struggle to fulfill spiritual mission
- Key: The most important divisional chart for all spiritual analysis in Chapter 33 context; Ketu in 12th from AK in D20 = Moksha/Kaivalya potential
- Tips: Check aspect percentages on 12th house and 12th lord from AK in D20 to precisely identify Ishta Devata. Saturn+Rahu in D20 can show fierce deity (Durga/Kali) sadhana. Mercury in D20 as 12th lord = Vishnu bhakta.
Divisional — D-24 (Sidhamsa / Chaturvimshamsa)
- Source: Class 65, 70
- Purpose: Education, knowledge acquisition, learning, academic achievements
- Computation: Each sign divided into 24 parts of 1°15' each
- How-to-read: 5th house from Karakamsha in D24 = type of knowledge the person will be famous for; planets in 3rd and 2nd from Karakamsha in D24 = what the person communicates
- Key: Pair with D20 for spiritual knowledge; D24 alone for academic/formal knowledge
- Tips: Looking at 3rd, 2nd, and 5th from Karakamsha in D24 reveals the subjects the soul is oriented to study and communicate
Divisional — D-30 (Trimsamsa)
- Source: Class 70
- Purpose: Evils, suffering, chronic diseases, sins from past life, longevity threats
- Computation: Each sign divided into 30 parts of 1° each (unequal portions for odd/even signs)
- How-to-read: A planet debilitated, in enemy sign, or as functional malefic in D30 will cause suffering during its Dasha; 8th house in D30 = major health affliction; bones affected if Sun is afflicted in D30
- Key: Parashara recommends D30 for health problems, not D6 alone. PVR emphasizes using both D6 (physical suffering) and D30 (karmic/past-life suffering) together.
- Tips: In Class 70, the case of Srirama: Jupiter as Lagna lord in Rasi, but Taurus Lagna in D30 makes Jupiter an enemy of Lagna lord (Venus) AND Jupiter is debilitated AND Mandi is also there — this triple affliction in D30 explains severe health problems despite Jupiter being Lagna lord in Rasi. Hip problems confirmed by Rahu+Ketu in 8th house of D30, and Sun afflicted by Saturn in D30 confirming bone problems.
v2 Batch 8 — Classes 71–80
Divisional Charts — Batch 8 (v71–v80)
Master sheet of divisional chart teachings from this batch.
Divisional — D-1 (Rashi / Natal Chart)
- Source: v71–v80 (used throughout)
- Purpose: Overall physical existence; general life analysis; the primary chart
- Computation: Direct degrees as they are; no division needed
- How-to-read: Functional benefic/malefic analysis based on lagna; see BPHS Ch. 34 guidelines. Overall Vimshottari Dasha from Moon in D1 gives general life timing.
- Key (from this batch):
- Rashi chart shows overall existence and physical manifestation.
- Before analyzing any divisional chart, first check if the Rashi chart shows any strong afflictions or blessings in that area. A weak 4th house in Rashi = problem with education overall; confirm in D24 before concluding.
- Rashi 10th house analysis for career: if 10th lord is weak in Rashi, the person will have difficulty in career regardless of the Dasamsa strength.
- Tips: Always start Rashi analysis before going to divisional charts. Divisional charts refine and specify; they don't replace the natal chart.
Divisional — D-7 (Saptamsa)
- Source: v79 (Swati Lenin children chart)
- Purpose: Children; fertility; reproductive matters; the energy of creating new life
- Computation: Each sign divided into 7 equal parts (4°17' each). Odd signs: assign D7 lagna to the same sign onward; even signs: assign to 7th sign onward.
- How-to-read: See the 5th house (children), Putrakaraka Jupiter, and lagna lord. Use Vimshottari Dasha from Moon in D7 for timing of children.
- Key (from this batch):
- D7 Lagna sensitivity: approximately 4.5 minutes of error in birth time can change D7 Lagna. When leeway is more than 13 minutes backward, lagna reliability is higher.
- Birth time given tends to err toward "a bit before" the actual time, so backward leeway is usually safer.
- If D7 Lagna is not on a border, proceed with analysis; if on a border, rectify first.
- Tips: Verify D7 by checking known events (marriage timing, first child's birth if known) before predicting.
Divisional — D-9 (Navamsa)
- Source: v71–v80 (used extensively; Swati Lenin, Dr. Vasudeva Rao, Tarun charts)
- Purpose: Marriage and spouse quality; deeper dharmic nature of a planet; second half of life; strength of planets
- Computation: Each sign divided into 9 equal parts (3°20' each). Standard navamsa mapping by sign type (fire/earth/air/water starting points).
- How-to-read:
- Use Vimshottari Dasha from Moon in D9 to time marriage events.
- Navamsa Chara Dasha (Parashara's rasi dasha applied to D9): used for marriage timing via 4-factor analysis (natal, dasha-sign-as-lagna, transit at dasha start, transit at event time).
- Lagna and lagna lord in D9 show the nature of spouse and marital life.
- 7th house and 7th lord in D9: the conditions of marriage.
- Key (from this batch):
- For Swati Lenin (Leo lagna in D9): Sun and Jupiter in Lagna (strong yoga); Saturn 7th lord in 7th house = very powerful marriage indicator. Marriage in Jupiter MD, Saturn AD — exactly matching these two planets.
- Sensitivity formula: for every m minutes of error, D9 dates shift by m × n × 9 / 4 days (where n = years of first dasha). ~5 minutes error = ~80 days shift in D9 dasha dates.
- When 7th lord is in own sign in D9 (Saturn in Aquarius), it strongly indicates marriage timing in that planet's dasha.
- Navamsa Lagna type (mobile/fixed/dual) indicates duration of marriage relationship quality: dual = medium-term stability.
- Tips:
- Do NOT use Rashi chart Vimshottari for D9 events. Always recalculate Vimshottari from Moon's position in D9.
- For Chara Dasha in D9: use the Options button in JRAS to select D9.
- Verify Navamsa Lagna before making marriage predictions; 5-8 minutes of error changes Navamsa Lagna.
Divisional — D-10 (Dasamsa)
- Source: v72 (Murali career), v74 (Virgo lagna job stability chart), v75 (bank manager chart)
- Purpose: Career; work; professional achievements; reputation in the world
- Computation: Each sign divided into 10 equal parts (3° each). Odd signs: assign from the same sign; even signs: assign from 9th sign.
- How-to-read:
- Use Vimshottari Dasha from Moon in D10 for career timing.
- Lagna lord in D10 shows basic attitude toward career.
- 10th house and 10th lord in D10 show the quality of career itself.
- 6th house in D10 shows service/obstacles in career.
- AL (Arudha Lagna) in D10: 12th from AL = loss of professional status.
- Key (from this batch):
- Murali chart: In D10, Sun (10th lord) is in 12th house with Saturn less than 1 degree apart. Sun-Saturn near-exact conjunction in D10 12th house = severely weakened career indicator. Prescription: propitiate Sun (Aditya Hridayam, Surya mantras daily).
- Virgo lagna chart (Aug 31, 1953): In D10, Saturn and Mercury are together in 1st house (Lagna lord + 5th lord). Nearly exact conjunction. Saturn is 6th lord but also 5th lord — near-neutral overall. Mercury Antardasha showed career stability, not job loss.
- When 10th lord is extremely weak in D10 (afflicted, poorly placed), even a strong Dasamsa Yogakaraka cannot fully compensate. The career will always have some instability.
- Aspect evaluation in JRAS: check "planetary aspect evaluation" on 10th house to find key planets influencing career even without house occupancy.
- Tips:
- Verify D10 time sensitivity (~3-4 minutes changes D10 lagna). If lagna is on border, exercise caution.
- Sun in D10 is the karaka for success in career. Even if not 10th lord, Sun's condition in D10 is critical.
Divisional — D-24 (Siddhamsha / Chaturvimsamsha)
- Source: v77–v78 (Tarun education chart, Wilmington Delaware)
- Purpose: Education; learning; knowledge; scholarship; academic recognition; intellectual achievements
- Computation: Each sign divided into 24 equal parts (1°15' each). Odd signs: assign from Leo onward; even signs: assign from Cancer onward.
- How-to-read:
- Use Vimshottari Dasha from Moon in D24 for timing of educational events.
- Navamsa Chara Dasha can also be applied to D24 by selecting D24 in JRAS options.
- 5th house in D24 shows scholarship, smartness, intellectual recognition.
- Lagna and lagna lord in D24 show the basic ability and orientation toward learning.
- 9th lord in D24 aspecting 5th house: good for academic fortune.
- Key (from this batch):
- Tarun chart (Aug 18, 1989, Wilmington): D24 Lagna rectification between Cancer and Leo. Cancer lagna showed weak chart with lagna lord in 12th in enemy sign. Leo lagna showed Sun-Mars in Lagna yoga (trine lords together) and Jupiter as yogakaraka in 10th. Leo Lagna made more sense for a consistent top student.
- In Leo D24: three trine lords (Sun, Jupiter, Mars — lagna lord and yogakaraka) in mutual trine positions. This is an exceptionally strong educational chart. Explains consistent academic excellence.
- Jupiter Mahadasha in D24 for Leo lagna: Jupiter is strong benefic (5th + 8th lord — 8th is neutral, 5th benefic). Aspecting Lagna, aspecting 5th house from trinal position. Explains topper status during Jupiter Dasha.
- Scorpio Chara Dasha in D24: 4th house (direction in life) with nodes = confusion about direction of study (wanted medicine, switched to math/physics). Explains the period of uncertainty.
- Libra Chara Dasha (3rd lord in 6th in D24): competition house. Explains Jeopardy win at age 10.
- Tips:
- D24 time sensitivity: ~3-4 minutes error can change D24 Lagna. Even smaller errors than in D9 need attention.
- When verifying D24, use known academic achievements (when topper, when awards received, when major degree completed) as checkpoints.
- For D24 Chara Dasha, select D24 in the Options > Divisional Chart selector in JRAS.
v2 Batch 9 — Classes 81–90
Divisional Charts — Batch 9 (v2, classes 81–90)
Divisional — D-4 (Chaturthamsa)
Source: class-81, class-85, class-86, class-90 Purpose: Residence, foreign travel, real property, change of country/place; "where does the person live?" Computation: Each sign is divided into 4 equal parts of 7°30' each. Each pada maps to a sign: for movable signs, from the same sign; for fixed signs, from the 4th; for dual signs, from the 7th. (Standard Chaturthamsa computation in JHora.) How-to-read: Lagna shows the native's default residence context. 4th house = established home/property. 7th, 9th, 12th, and Badhaka house = factors for foreign travel/relocation. The Dasha of the 9th lord + Badhaka lord combinations in D4 typically times foreign trips. Key: The three-reference check (Lagna, Sun, Moon from D4 chart) should confirm a planet's connection to 9th/12th/Badhaka before attributing foreign travel to its dasha. Lagna lord / 5th lord dashas tend to bring the person home, not abroad, even from the 12th house. Tips:
- Leeway in D4 is typically about 3–5 minutes. Use known events (first foreign trip, returning home) to verify D4 Lagna.
- Venus Antardasha in a Dasha that gives foreign results will send the person home if Venus is Lagna lord/5th lord from Moon or Sun in D4.
- NMK chart example: Jupiter (9th lord) Dasha, Ketu Antardasha = first US trip in 2007. Venus Antardasha = forced return to India. Sun Antardasha = came back to US.
Divisional — D-7 (Saptamsa)
Source: class-85 Purpose: Children and progeny; fertility and lineage Computation: Each sign divided into 7 parts of 4°17'. For odd signs, sequence starts from the sign itself; for even signs, sequence starts from the 7th. How-to-read: 5th house from D7 Lagna = first child. 7th house = spouse's role in giving children. Use Vimshottari Dasha of D7; also check conditional dashas. The 5th lord from all three references should connect to the timing planet for the Dasha that gives a child. Key: Rahu's connections to the 5th house (as 5th lord, dispositor of 5th lord, aspecting 5th house) from Sun, Moon, and Lagna determines which Mahadasha gives children. Tips:
- RKG chart (class-85): D7 Lagna borderline between Cancer and Leo. From Cancer Lagna: Rahu is 5th lord's dispositor AND aspects 5th from Moon; Ketu aspects 5th lord from Lagna if Lagna is Cancer. Child born August 22, 2009 in Rahu-Venus or Rahu-Ketu period (on the exact border).
- Shodashottari of D7 also applicable in some cases; when it is, Venus Dasha may give the child.
Divisional — D-10 (Dasamsa)
Source: class-81, class-82, class-84, class-85, class-87, class-90 Purpose: Career, profession, public status, worldly work Computation: Each sign divided into 10 parts of 3°. For odd signs, start from the sign itself; for even signs, start from the 9th. How-to-read: Lagna = the person's career identity. 10th house = work itself. 5th house = recognition and fame. 6th house = service and employment. Yogakaraka and Raja Yoga planets show the nature of success. Check tenth from Lagna, Sun, and Moon for where the career energy is. Key: Mars as Yogakaraka from Lagna (for Leo/Cancer lagnas) gives special career eminence. Jupiter-Venus Raja Yoga (5th + 10th lords) in Dasamsa shows potential for fame. Arudha Lagna (AL) in D10 shows career image; A5 shows fame. Tips:
- Mudga chart (class-84): Aquarius D10 Lagna. Mars (10th lord) in 11th house aspecting 5th lord Mercury in own sign = Mars Dasha = career success and recognition.
- Vivekananda D10: Moon, Venus, Jupiter cluster in 9th-10th Scorpio zone with AL and A5 = world fame. Shodashottari Dasha (Chandra Hora, Krishna Paksha) → Ketu Mahadasha gave the fame.
- Romney D10: Pisces Lagna. Jupiter (Lagna + 10th lord) in 7th house = businessman. Lagna lord in 7th = self-employed. Mars Dasha = huge financial gain at Bain Capital.
Divisional — D-12 (Dwadasamsa)
Source: class-89 (S Ram chart) Purpose: Parents, ancestors, parental happiness; inherited traits Computation: Each sign divided into 12 equal parts of 2°30'. Sequence starts from the sign itself for all signs. How-to-read: Lagna = native's relationship with parents. 9th house = father. 4th house = mother. Sun (Pitra Karaka) afflicted = issues with father. Jupiter in 12th = father absent/away. Eighth lord with 9th lord in 12th = being away from father. Key: D12 and D24 share a relationship (D24 = 2 × D12). When the D24 Lagna is on a border, check D12 for the same event (parent separation, educational environment) as a cross-check — if D12 events make sense, D24 direction is likely correct. Tips:
- S Ram chart (class-89): D12 showed Sun afflicted by Ketu + 9th lord Jupiter in 12th with 8th lord Saturn = father absent, divorced. Mars in 4th house (Yogakaraka) = mother's role is protected.
Divisional — D-20 (Vimshamsa)
Source: class-81, class-82, class-89 Purpose: Spiritual practices, upasana, meditation, inner spiritual life Computation: Each sign divided into 20 equal parts of 1°30'. How-to-read: 5th house = upasana (personal practice). 9th house = the divine help available; the form of God that can help the person. When using Prashna chart D20: 9th lord's placement shows which deity's worship can resolve the specific issue the Prashna is asked about. Key: In Prashna analysis, D20's 5th and 9th houses show the spiritual remedy path. Exalted 9th lord in D20 of Prashna shows strong divine protection available. Use the Antardasha of D20 to find the approximate time window for spiritual breakthroughs. Tips:
- Pranay's Prashna D20 (class-89): Moon is the 9th lord, exalted in 7th house, aspecting Lagna = worship of Moon-related deity (Chamunda, Gauri/Parvati) is strongly indicated.
- Vivekananda D20 (class-82): Shodashottari applied (Chandra Hora, Krishna Paksha). Moon Mahadasha (1878–1884) = guru Ramakrishna in life. Mercury Antardasha = death of guru. Moon as 7th lord in 9th of D20 = spiritual interactions through partnerships.
Divisional — D-24 (Siddhamsa)
Source: class-85, class-86, class-89, class-90 Purpose: Education, learning, knowledge acquisition; formal and higher education Computation: Each sign divided into 24 equal parts of 1°15'. How-to-read: 4th house = basic (school) education. 9th house = higher/professional education. 5th house = brilliance and competitive success. For medical education: Sun's connection to the 9th house. For engineering: Mars/Mercury influence on 9th. For the humanities/IT: Mercury/Jupiter in 9th or Lagna. Key: D24 and D12 are multiples; if D24 Lagna is on a border, D12 events can help confirm direction. Sun in 9th house of D24 = medical/healing education. Exalted Mercury in D24 = high analytical and learning ability. Tips:
- Taurus D24 Lagna: Sun in 9th house (Capricorn) = medicine. The Taurus-Gemini-Leo options in the charts of class-89/90 were narrowed by whether Sun had a connection to the 9th house and whether the person was actually in medicine.
- NMK chart (class-86): D24 rectification to Virgo Lagna confirmed by Rahu-Jupiter Antardasha giving good college entry in August 2001. Jupiter as 5th lord in Lagna (from Lagna, Moon, and Sun all showing Jupiter connected to 5th house of Purva Punya).
- Aditya chart (class-90): Taurus D24 Lagna with Sun in 9th house explained MBBS medical education clearly.
Divisional — D-27 (Bhamsa / Nakshatramsa)
Source: class-89, class-90 Purpose: Strengths, weaknesses, instinctual/subconscious nature; inherent abilities and vulnerabilities Computation: Each sign divided into 27 equal parts (1°6'40" each). Sequence varies by sign type. How-to-read: Each planet in D27 shows its strength at the subconscious, instinctual level. Jupiter in Moolatrikona or exalted = strong analytical discrimination. Moon strong = emotionally stable, good mind-world interface. Mars in Moolatrikona = high drive and initiative. Venus exalted = inherent capacity for happiness. Mercury in friendly sign with lord aspecting = good learning ability. Key: Do not use D27 Lagna unless the birth time is confirmed to within 1 minute. Use D27 only for the naked strength/weakness of each planet regardless of house position. Tips:
- Pranay's D27 (class-89): Moon conjunct Rahu in Rahu's own sign (Aquarius) = Moon dominated by Rahu = unstable/weak mind at subconscious level. Confirms natal Gandanta Moon problem.
- S Ram's D27 (class-90): Mars in Moolatrikona = strong drive/initiative. Venus exalted = inherent happiness. Mercury in friendly sign with lord's aspect = good learner. Ketu in own sign (with Sun affliction).
Divisional — D-30 (Trimshamsa)
Source: class-89 Purpose: Suffering, disease, adversity, evil/karmic burdens Computation: Each sign divided into 30 unequal parts according to planetary ownership (traditional Trimshamsa). Each planet governs a certain number of degrees. How-to-read: Moon and Mercury in D30 should be analyzed for mental/emotional health. Moon in D30's 8th house = serious mental suffering. Moon debilitated in D30 = weakness in mental constitution. Saturn aspecting Moon in D30 = Badhaka lord's impact on mental health. Key: D30 confirms natal chart indications of suffering. When both natal chart AND D30 show Moon afflicted, the mental health issue is significantly more certain and more serious. Tips:
- Pranay's D30 (class-89): Moon debilitated in 8th house (Manakarka sthana) + Saturn aspect = serious suffering in mind/emotions. Compound confirmation of Gandanta Moon in natal chart.
- Mrityu Bhaga of Moon can potentially be checked in D30 also (research area — not classical confirmed).
v2 Batch 10 — Classes 91–100
Divisional Charts — Batch 10 (v2, classes 91–99)
Divisional — D1 (Rashi / Birth Chart)
- Source: class-91 through class-99
- Purpose: Overall life picture; physical body, temperament, general fortune; primary chart from which all other divisionals are read.
- Computation: Standard Rashi chart; sign placement of planets based on birth time and location.
- How to read: Lagna = physical self; Moon = mind; Sun = soul/authority; houses 1–12 show different life domains.
- Key: All divisional charts must be read in relation to the D1 as the base. A planet strong in D1 but weak in the relevant divisional shows partial potential.
- Tips: Use Bhava Chakra (Chalita chart) for house cusps; Rashi chart for sign lordships and yogas. The 15-degree rule applies in the Bhava Chakra version.
Divisional — D2 (Hora)
- Source: class-95
- Purpose: Wealth, resources, material accumulation.
- Computation: Cancer-Leo axis mirror; odd signs → Sun Hora (Leo) or Moon Hora (Cancer) in standard order; even signs → the order reverses (mirror image from Cancer-Leo axis). This correction for even signs is essential in JHora settings.
- How to read: Planets in Moon Hora (Cancer) favor maternal/emotional wealth; planets in Sun Hora (Leo) favor active self-earned wealth.
- Key: The even-sign reversal fix is a common error. Verify JHora settings for correct Hora computation.
- Tips: D2 is rarely the primary focus in class; used mainly to confirm financial indications from D1.
Divisional — D4 (Chaturthamsha)
- Source: class-91, class-94
- Purpose: Fortunes relating to fixed assets, home, and foreign relocation (4th-house matters).
- Computation: Each sign is divided into four equal parts (7°30' each); a sequence of signs is assigned to the four parts.
- How to read: D4 lagna shows fixed-asset potential; strong planets in D4's 4th or 12th house indicate property or foreign travel.
- Key: The D4 lagna comparison between two candidates (e.g., Leo vs. Taurus) for a rectified chart informs which Rashi lagna gives a more consistent D4 story.
- Tips: Used in class-94 to distinguish between two potential birth-time rectifications for the immigration chart.
Divisional — D7 (Saptamsa)
- Source: class-93, class-95
- Purpose: Children, progeny, and fertility.
- Computation: Each sign is divided into seven equal parts (4°17' approx.); the sequence of signs cycles through.
- How to read: Lagna lord and 5th house of D7 are primary indicators for children. Venus as Yogakaraka in D7 5th house gives children in Venus dasha.
- Key: Match D7 dasha with D1 dasha for confirming timing of children's birth.
- Tips: Used in class-95 for Sunita's children born in Venus dasha (May 1998 and Apr 2004).
Divisional — D9 (Navamsa)
- Source: class-91, class-93, class-96, class-97, class-98
- Purpose: Dharma, spouse qualities, inner spiritual nature, longevity of relationships, overall chart strength.
- Computation: Each sign is divided into nine parts (3°20' each); sequence starts from the sign's natural trikona.
- How to read: Navamsa lagna shows the inner/spiritual self; 7th house shows spouse quality; Atmakaraka and Darakaraka in Navamsa show soul-level relationship dynamics.
- Key: Sun eclipsed by Ketu in Navamsa = obstacle to marriage (self cannot present fully to partner). Darakaraka-Atmakaraka in Shashtashaka (6/8) = soul-level incompatibility.
- Tips: Vargottama planets (same sign in D1 and D9) are very strong. Used in all marriage-related analyses.
Divisional — D10 (Dashaamsa)
- Source: class-91, class-93, class-94, class-96, class-99
- Purpose: Career, profession, social standing, public achievements.
- Computation: Each sign is divided into ten parts (3° each); for odd signs, the sequence starts from the sign itself; for even signs, the sequence starts from the 9th from the sign.
- How to read: D10 lagna = career self; 2nd, 6th, 10th houses are the three career houses (resources, tasks, accomplishments). For military/service careers, take 6th house as lagna reference. For planning/leadership careers, take 10th.
- Key: Venus-Rahu in D10 = spy / undercover operations. Mars in own sign or exalted in D10 = strong technical / martial career. Two or three exalted planets in D10 = elite career potential.
- Tips: Traditional D10 is used unless the user specifies otherwise. Visaptati Sama Dasha in D10 applies when the 7th-1st lord exchange condition is met.
Divisional — D12 (Dwadashamsha)
- Source: class-91
- Purpose: Parents; genetic inheritance; ancestral patterns.
- Computation: Each sign is divided into twelve equal parts (2°30' each).
- How to read: 9th house of D12 = father; 4th house of D12 = mother. Planets in these houses or their lords indicate the quality of parental life and inheritance.
- Key: Used in class-91 to analyze the parents of the rectified chart and to confirm birth time by correlating D12 events with parental life events.
- Tips: Cross-check D12 analysis with D1's 4th and 9th houses for complete parent picture.
Divisional — D24 (Chaturvimsamsha / Siddhamsha)
- Source: class-91, class-94, class-95, class-99
- Purpose: Education, knowledge, academic achievement, learning capacity.
- Computation: Each sign is divided into 24 parts (1°15' each); for even signs, the sequence is a mirror image from the Cancer axis (same even-sign reversal principle as D2). Use "reverse" setting in JHora for correct computation.
- How to read: D24 lagna = the educational self; 9th house = higher/bachelor education; planets in D24 show subjects and academic aptitude. Mercury exalted in D24 = computer science / technical education.
- Key: The Arudha of the 9th in D24 (A9) reveals the tangible educational achievement. Argala on A9 by 5th and 9th lords = Raja Yoga for education.
- Tips: Narayana Dasha of D24 is used to time educational events (start, peak, completion). Pisces Mahadasha in D24 Narayana Dasha starting education; Maraka antardasha ending it.
Divisional — D30 (Trimsamsa)
- Source: class-92
- Purpose: Misfortunes, chronic illness, subconscious psychological vulnerabilities, past-life karmic residue.
- Computation: Each sign is divided into five unequal parts; different lords rule different portions within each sign (Parashara's specific allocation for odd and even signs differs).
- How to read: Afflicted planets in D30 show the type of illness or psychological challenge (Moon/Mercury afflicted = mental/neurological; Mars afflicted = accidents or surgeries; Saturn afflicted = chronic Vata diseases).
- Key: Moon and Mercury both afflicted by Rahu-Ketu-Sun in D30 = autism, speech impairment, or neurological developmental condition. Stationary transit on D30 planets triggers health events.
- Tips: D30 is primarily used for health and misfortune analysis. Compare D30 analysis with Rashi chart 6th and 8th houses.
