Why 360-Tithi Years?

Three justifications the teacher offers:

1. Experimental: Works noticeably better for people 30–45 years old, where the ~10-day/year difference from the solar year accumulates to ~1 year over a lifetime.
2. Scriptural — Mandala Upanishad: Maximum lifespan in Kali Yuga stated as ~116 years. Applying 120-year Vimshottari maximum in 354-day years equals that 116-year figure in standard solar years.
3. Mahabharata — Pandava vanavasa: Yudhishthira, Bhishma, and Krishna argued that exile was complete using 360-tithi counting, while Duryodhana used solar years. Islamic calendar likewise uses 360-tithi years.

[!TIP] For Rasi Dashas (Chara Dasha, Narayana Dasha), the teacher does not have a recommendation on using the tithi year option. Leave Rasi Dasha settings unchanged. Only Nakshatra Dashas need this.

Tajaka Settings

For Tajaka charts, apply the "360-tithi" setting to all Nakshatra Dashas. Rasi Dashas in Tajaka: no recommendation — do not change.

[!IMPORTANT] Key pedagogical rule: Even if a planet is not a functional benefic from Lagna, if it is the lord of the house of interest (e.g., 7th) and is placed in or aspecting that house, it will give results related to that house. Saturn here is a functional malefic by strict Parasara rules (for most ascendants), yet gives marriage because it owns and occupies the 7th house.

Tajaka Navamsa 2007: Mercury–Ketu Period {#d9-tajaka}

The 2007 Tajaka (annual solar return) Navamsa chart with compressed Vimshottari Dasha using the Tajaka chart's own Moon Nakshatra (= Anuradha → Saturn Dasha first):

Mercury–Venus and Mercury–Saturn do NOT give marriage in this chart because Venus and Saturn are not connected to the 7th house (Venus = 3rd+8th lord in 2nd; Saturn = 11th+12th lord in 2nd).

Rahu/Ketu status in this Tajaka Navamsa: Neutral to benefic. Ketu in Lagna with benefic planets = neutral; does not cause typical Rahu/Ketu disruptions to marriage matters here.

Rectification via Tajaka Window {#d9-rectification}

Using the 2007 Tajaka D-9 Lagna shift: ±4 minutes (3 min 54 sec earlier; 9 min 45 sec later → practical window ~±4 min).

One can further narrow the birth time by finding the exact window where the Dasha transitions from Mercury–Mercury or Mercury–Ketu to the adjacent period. The birth time is constrained to within ~2 minutes.

⚠️ Chara Dasha — Critical Correction {#chara-correction}

Chara Dasha in Divisional Charts: Ignore for Now {#ignore-chara-divisional}

[!WARNING] CRITICAL FINDING (Class 79 Correction): Chara Dasha compressed into divisional charts (i.e., calculating Chara Dasha using the divisional chart's own Lagna positions) does NOT work consistently. The teacher tested multiple approaches and found only noise — no reliable signals.

Current recommendation: Ignore Chara Dasha in divisional charts.

• ✅ Use Vimshottari Dasha of divisional charts (using that chart's Moon Nakshatra) — works well
• ✅ Use plain Chara Dasha from the Rasi chart together with divisional chart analysis
• ❌ Do NOT use Chara Dasha compressed into divisional charts

This corrects the Class 77 announcement that Chara Dasha of divisional charts was a breakthrough research finding. The plain Chara Dasha (from the Rasi/natal chart) remains valid and useful.

Why the confusion arose

The teacher had initially seen promising results in a few cases using Chara Dasha of divisional charts. After testing across multiple charts, those results turned out to be coincidental. Without systematic confirmation, the technique should not be used in practice.

Tajaka + Chara Dasha

[!NOTE] Chara Dasha in Tajaka charts is also unreliable. Teacher's words: "That's just an academic exercise." For Tajaka analysis, use:

• Tajaka Vimshottari Dasha (using Tajaka chart's own Moon Nakshatra)
• Tajaka Lagna chart combinations Do not apply Chara Dasha to Tajaka charts.

How to Use Chara Dasha Correctly {#chara-methodology}

The correct four-step method (from the Rasi/natal chart Chara Dasha, applied to any divisional chart question):

Chara Dasha Antardasha: Do Not Use

[!WARNING] Chara Dasha Antardasha shown in JHora software is not reliable. The teacher says: "Don't waste time looking at the Antardasha and somehow making sense of it. It'll eventually make sense. So I don't use Antardasha myself." Use only the main Mahadasha sign.

Chara Dasha Calculation Variations

Parasara's Chara Dasha rules (as cited):

1. If one lord is already in the sign, take the other
2. Count planets there
3. Exaltation/debilitation of those planets
4. Inherent sign strength (mobile > dual > fixed in certain contexts)
5. Number of years (whichever gives more years)

JHora's current implementation uses the Narayana Dasha rules (taught by Sanjay Rath), which match Parasara in most cases. In difficult cases — especially if Scorpio or Aquarius Dasha has already occurred in life — the alternate lordship (Ketu for Scorpio, Rahu for Aquarius) may give a better result. Experiment when the default calculation doesn't fit.

✈️ Chaturvimsamsa (D-4) — Foreign Travel Dec 22 2007 {#d4-travel}

Note: "D-4" here = the chart for fixed property / dwellings / foreign residence (Chaturvimsamsa). Going abroad to live with husband = D-4 domain.

Vimshottari Dasha: Rahu–Rahu (9th Lord) {#d4-vimshottari}

Event: December 22, 2007 — moved to USA

[!TIP] Fundamental rule for Dasha quality: Parashara does not specify "bachelor's degree = 9th house, master's = 2nd house" and so on. The basic rule stands: if something important and positive happened in education during a Dasha, that Dasha lord must be a functional benefic. Work from this principle rather than trying to assign house meanings to degree types.

The Antardasha (Moon = 5th lord aspecting 5th) is the primary determinant here — Moon gives the certification of learning. The Mahadasha (Rahu = behaving as Mars, the 9th lord) provides the conducive background (higher educational environment).

Why Pisces Lagna Works (vs. Aquarius or Capricorn) {#d24-analysis}

For Aquarius Lagna (the original time):

• Rahu Mahadasha: Rahu with Ketu (10th lord, malefic) and Mars (4th+11th = malefic) → functional malefic
• Moon Antardasha: 6th lord in 12th → Viparita Rajayoga (a weaker form of beneficence) — not a great period for education

For Capricorn Lagna (slightly earlier time):

• Rahu Mahadasha: with Mars (4th+11th = malefic) → malefic
• Moon Antardasha: 7th lord in Lagna → neutral; not clearly conducive to education

Only Pisces Lagna makes both Rahu and Moon functional benefics, validating the positive event of getting the degree.

[!NOTE] Getting a degree is a certification of learning — even if the learning is complete, the social/professional recognition requires a certificate. Thus it is always a positive event that must correlate with a positive Dasha–Antardasha pair.

Overall D-7 assessment: Strong chart. Functional malefics (Saturn, Venus, Mandi) are placed in bad houses (6th, Moolatrikona with Mars = diluted, 12th). Functional benefics (Sun, Jupiter, Mars) are strong. Main spoiler: Venus afflicting Mars.

Taking Capricorn as Dasha sign (Chara Dasha sign), at the time of childbirth:

Probable alignment: Saturn in Libra + Jupiter in Taurus + Venus well-placed = a confluence window for childbirth. Saturn entered Libra in late 2011, which aligns with the expected delivery window.

Revised forecast: Given that the person was already 3 months pregnant in February 2011, the delivery was expected around August 2011 — before the July 21 2011 birthday. This means the 2010 Tajaka D-7 chart (in effect until July 21 2011) governs the delivery. That chart's Parivartana of Lagna lord and 5th lord is a profoundly powerful combination.

Verification method: Use both natal analysis AND transit analysis from the Dasha sign. If a different calculation gives a Dasha sign that fits both criteria better (e.g., Libra instead of Pisces where Libra shows no interesting yogas), the original calculation is likely correct.

[!TIP] When to experiment with Chara Dasha calculation: Only when the default doesn't line up with known events AND if Scorpio or Aquarius Dasha has already passed in life (changing their lordship changes the Dasha year counts).
