Sun = Bhaga lord from Moon, with 9th and 12th lord → strong foreign agenda. He returned to US when Sun period began.

💼 D10 — Career Dasha Validation

Rashi Lagna (rectified): Aries (14° approx) D10 Lagna (rectified): Virgo

[!NOTE] D10 Lagna switching from Leo to Virgo also affects the 10th house signification. Virgo Lagna → 10th = Gemini (Mercury-ruled) = software/computers. This matches the native's likely computer career, further validating the rectification.

📚 D24 — Education Timing

Event: August 2001 — got into good college, good course.

D24 Vimshottari Dasha at that time: Rahu–Jupiter

Jupiter has 5th-house links from all three references in D24 → triggers Purva Punya = good academic fortune. The Antardasha of Jupiter in Rahu Maha was the vehicle for this education break.

[!TIP] "In order to give the result completely, even though from Lagna, Jupiter is very well placed being the 5th lord, he has to have some link with the 5th or 9th house from Sun and Moon also." — This is the standard three-reference validation rule applied to education events in D24.

The teacher noted: simply taking the "9th house from 4th house" (standard rule for father's father) does not work to isolate maternal grandfather separately from paternal grandfather — they would both be shown by the same 9th-from-4th combination.

[!WARNING] The rule "ninth from fourth = mother's father" is not consistent across charts and is not a reliable technique. To see maternal grandfather separately from paternal grandfather, one would need to derive it differently — perhaps from A4 (Arudha of 4th), or from the 4th lord, or other methods that need further research. The teacher recommends not jumping to conclusions from one or two charts.

Practical advice: Do not apply the "9th from 4th = maternal grandfather" rule with confidence. More research is needed.

👫 D3 — Sibling Analysis (Exercise Only)

Event: November 2000 — elder sister married. D3 Vimshottari: Moon–Rahu

Dasha: Moon–Saturn

• Saturn has 90% aspect on Moon, 82% on Sun, 92% on Lagna — very close aspects on all three.
• Saturn is overall a mild malefic (10th lord is slightly benefic; 11th lord is malefic; as natural malefic the net is malefic).
• Saturn aspecting Moon = depression, sadness, mental stress.
• Saturn is the Badhaka lord (for Aries Lagna, Badhaka sign is Aquarius = Saturn rules it) → sudden, hard-to-diagnose problems.
• Saturn's aspect on 6th lord (85% strength) → illness activation.
• Placement in 7th house → kidney and urinary tract issues (7th house governs kidneys, uterus, lower abdomen).

D6 (Shashtamsa) — May 2008

Dasha: Ketu (just started)

• Ketu from Lagna and Moon = 5th lord, but with Saturn (7th+8th lord = slightly benefic). Being in the Badhaka sthana with 8th lord → sudden, unexpected health problem.
• From Sun: with 6th lord.
• Ketu in Badhaka sthana + 8th lord association → sudden onset, possibly hard to diagnose.

D30 (Trimsamsha) — May 2008

Dasha: Sun–Mercury

[!IMPORTANT] New jHora setting for D30: In jHora, go to Alt-PCD (Preferences → Calculations → Divisional Chart Calculation Options). Under "Trimsamsha chart to be used," uncheck the box "Map each one degree in Rasi to 30 degrees in D30." This gives the whole-division mapping (Parashara's original nonlinear mapping) rather than the prorated approach. PVR has found much better results with this approach in both natal and mundane charts. Future releases of jHora will make this the default.

With the corrected D30:

• Sun Dasha: Sun = 9th lord but debilitated → weak, can give problems during its Maha.
• Mercury Antardasha: Mercury = Badhaka lord in Badhaka sthana → classic health problem trigger. Mercury aspects 8th and 6th lords; Moon and Venus are in Lagna (Badhaka lord controls them). Mercury is the strongest planet in D30 and can definitively give health problems.

Current & Near-Term Health Outlook (as of 2011/2012)

Prediction: "Things will be much better from mid-2013 onwards. Until then, he has to be a little careful."

Marriage transits for Chara Dasha (Sagittarius as Lagna):

• Current (2011): Jupiter transiting Aries = 5th house from Sagittarius; Jupiter aspects Sagittarius (Lagna) with his 9th-house aspect → very auspicious. Jupiter is the Lagna lord of Sagittarius.

Recommended Remedy: Durga Worship

Practical instruction:

"Not now, but after marriage — after wife becomes pregnant — chant prayers of Durga for the well-being of children. Chandi Saptashati or Durga Sapta Sloki."

For health and mental peace, begin the Durga worship immediately (ongoing practice).

⚙️ jHora Setting: D30 Trimsamsha Calculation

[!IMPORTANT] New D30 calculation setting (recommended by PVR from this class onwards):

1. In jHora, press Alt+PCD (or go to Preferences → Calculations → Divisional Chart Calculation Options)
2. Under "Trimsamsha chart to be used": Standard Trimsamsha should be selected

Why this matters: Parashara defines D30 as a nonlinear mapping — five unequal sections of a sign (5°, 5°, 8°, 7°, 5° etc.) each mapped to specific signs. The checked option pro-rates within each section as if it were 30°, creating distortion. The unchecked option maps the whole section to the corresponding sign, which PVR has found gives much better results in research on both natal and mundane charts.

The next jHora release will make the unchecked option the default.
