🌀 Three Methods for Interpreting Narayana Dasha {#three-methods}

Method 1: The Dasha Sign Itself

• Look at which house the dasha sign is in the natal chart
• Look at which planets are in that sign
• Look at which house lords are in that sign
• All those houses and planets are activated during that dasha period
• Narayana is present in that house during that period of life

Method 2: Dasha Sign as Progressed Lagna

• Take the dasha sign as the new Lagna (or its 7th, if dasha started from 7th)
• Analyze the natal chart using this progressed Lagna
• Example: If dasha sign is Sagittarius and dashas started from 7th → take Gemini (7th from Sagittarius) as progressed Lagna
• "Tenth lord is in 8th from progressed Lagna → career instability during this dasha"
• "Tenth lord in 11th from progressed Lagna → career gains"

Method 3: Dasha Pravesh Chakra (Most Important) {#dasha-pravesh}

• Cast a fresh chart for the exact moment the dasha begins
• Use the birthplace for location (not current residence)
• This chart = the life of a hypothetical child born at that exact moment in the birthplace
• Use the Lagna of this Pravesh Chakra as reference for analyzing all 12 Antardashas

⚡ Jaya Yoga — Victory Yoga {#jaya-yoga}

Definition

Jaya Yoga: The 6th lord is debilitated (or weak) AND the 10th lord is exalted (or strong).

"6th lord in neecha means your enemies are sad. Which means you win."

Jaya = Victory. This yoga gives victory over competition, enemies, court cases, elections.

Extended Form

• Even if 10th lord is not exalted but strong (own sign, Moola Trikona) → still gives Jaya Yoga results
• Even if 6th lord is not exactly debilitated but weak → partial Jaya Yoga

[!NOTE] Jaya Yoga is judged from Lagna only — not from Arudha Lagna or Chandra Lagna.

🏛️ George W. Bush's Dasamsa Jaya Yoga {#bush-jaya}

Jaya Yoga in His Dasamsa

• 6th lord = Jupiter (in 7th house, debilitated)
• 10th lord = Mars (in 10th house, exalted, though afflicted by Rahu)

Jaya Yoga is very clearly present. The 6th lord is debilitated and the 10th lord is exalted — the purest form.

Caveat

• Mars (10th lord) is with Rahu → afflicted → tenth is not fully strong
• Jupiter's debilitation is the dominant factor → enemies get depressed
• Result: The yoga gives victory mainly through enemies' weakness, not through his own pure strength

Conditional Dasha for Bush

• Visaptati Sama Dasha applies: 7th lord Saturn is in Lagna
• Running: Jupiter Mahadasha (April 2000 – April 2009)
• Jupiter is the 6th lord in neecha → during Jupiter Mahadasha, enemies are depressed
• This exactly covers his two terms as US President (2001–2009)

In April 2000, John McCain was leading in the Republican primaries. Then around this exact dasha start time, Bush came from behind and took the lead. This is Jaya Yoga activating.

• Dashas started from Pisces (7th house stronger than Lagna/Virgo)
• Sagittarius Dasha = 3rd dasha in the sequence (after Pisces and Cancer)
• Duration: April 4, 1985 – April 5, 1995
• Dasha Pravesh Chakra Lagna: Cancer (what was rising at the birthplace at dasha start time)
• Reference for all Antardashas: Gemini (7th from Sagittarius, because dasha started from 7th)

Jaya Yoga in Dasha Pravesh Chakra

• Cancer Lagna → 6th lord = Jupiter (debilitated in 7th)
• 10th lord = Mars (in 10th with Rahu)
• Partial Jaya Yoga → Sagittarius Antardasha (6th lord involved) → victory in exams

Sagittarius Antardasha (Dec 1986 – Oct 1987)

From natal chart (Gemini as progressed Lagna):

• Sagittarius = 7th house from Gemini
• Lord = Jupiter, in 5th house of recognition
• → Recognition of abilities expected

From Dasha Pravesh Chakra (Cancer Lagna):

• Sagittarius = 6th house (debilitated 6th lord = Jaya Yoga partial)
• Lord = Jupiter (debilitated) → enemies are depressed → victory in competition

Result: State first in intermediate examinations, selected for IIT → confirmed ✓

Aquarius Antardasha (Aug 1988 – Jun 1989)

From Pravesh Chakra (Cancer Lagna):

• Aquarius = 8th house (hard work)
• Lords: Saturn (5th house, with Arudha Lagna) + Rahu (10th house with Mars)

Key factors:

• Saturn in 5th = abilities/scholarship; with Arudha Lagna = image/recognition
• Rahu in 10th with Mars (10th lord) = career action (electronics engineering)
• Saturn is Yogada (connected to Lagna, Hora Lagna, Jataka Lagna)

Result: Jumped to #1 class rank at IIT Madras in 2nd year (compensating for average 1st year) → confirmed ✓

Taurus Antardasha (1991)

From natal chart (Gemini as Lagna):

• Taurus = 12th house from Gemini = displacement, loss, foreign
• Lord Venus = in 11th (gains) + with 9th lord Saturn

Interpretation: Not pure loss — "losing something to gain something else." Displacement but profitable.

From Pravesh Chakra (Cancer Lagna):

• Taurus = 11th house (gains!)
• Lord Venus in 9th (Dharma; also foreign travel)

Both charts agree: Going abroad gainfully.

Result: Came to Rice University, Houston with full fellowship ($1,050/month, no teaching duties) — August 1991 → confirmed ✓

🎯 When to Use Natal vs Pravesh Chart {#natal-vs-pravesh}

PVR's Recommendation

When judging Antardashas within a Narayana Mahadasha, use the Dasha Pravesh Chakra Lagna as reference — not the natal Lagna or the dasha sign.

This is "the most important principle" and works very well in practice.

You can also use the natal chart (Method 2 — progressed Lagna), but:

• For Antardashas: Pravesh Chakra is more reliable
• For general dasha reading: either method works

The Progressed Lagna vs Pravesh Chart Lagna

• They are different! The Pravesh Chart Lagna is whatever was rising at the exact start of the dasha.
• The "progressed Lagna" from Method 2 is the dasha sign (or its 7th).
• Use both for cross-verification if needed.
