Birth Details
| Field | Detail |
|---|---|
| Name | Sri Vidya (female) |
| Date of Birth | May 29, 1994 |
| Time of Birth | 6:57 PM |
| Place | Secunderabad, India |
| Rashi Lagna | Scorpio |
| Age at class time | 18 years |
Situation
- Just completed 12th standard and enrolled in first year of engineering
- A marriage proposal arrived: a young man who completed Master's at an IIT and is expected to relocate to the US in 6–7 months
- Parents feel it is a good match and want astrological guidance
- Question: should she even entertain this proposal now, or discard it? Should she accept with the condition of marrying only after her degree?
Navamsa Analysis for Marriage Capacity
Current Dasha: Rahu (Vimshottari)
| Planet | Navamsa Position | Marriage Capacity |
|---|---|---|
| Rahu | 7th house in Navamsa | Can give marriage — 7th house placement direct |
| Rahu | 9th lord in Lagna (from Navamsa Lagna) | Excellent position — 9th lord in Lagna |
| Jupiter (current Antardasha) | Lagna lord, debilitated in 7th | Possible, but debilitated = weak |
| Jupiter (from Rahu's position) | 7th lord in 8th house | 7th lord in 8th is a weak position |
Assessment of Rahu-Jupiter period for marriage:
"Though he's Lagna lord, but he's debilitated in the seventh house... I won't really recommend, uh, just get married now. It may or may not be a great decision." — PVR
Jupiter as 7th lord from the Dasha lord Rahu is in the 8th house — not a clean marriage indicator. While it can technically give marriage (7th lord and Lagna lord in family house from regular Lagna), the debilitation and 8th placement argue against recommending it.
Saturn (next Antardasha, 2014 onward):
- From Rahu: 8th and 9th lord in 10th house — not strongly showing marriage
- From Navamsa Lagna: 2nd and 3rd lord in 4th house — no marriage indicators
- Saturn is not conducive for marriage in this Navamsa
Best period for marriage: Mercury Antardasha (comes ~2017)
| Factor | Mercury's Placement | Significance |
|---|---|---|
| From Navamsa Lagna | 7th lord in Lagna | 7th lord in Lagna — classic marriage indicator |
| From Dasha lord Rahu | Lagna lord in 7th | Lagna lord in 7th from Dasha lord |
| From Venus (Karaka Lagna) | Same 7th-lord-in-Lagna pattern holds | Triple confirmation |
"If we were to predict, this is not an advice to her. The advice is, don't get married now... she will get married in 2017–2018, right time." — PVR

Dasha Timing for Sri Vidya's Marriage {#dasha-timing}
Advice vs. Prediction
PVR carefully separated advice (what to do) from prediction (what will happen):
Advice: Do not marry now. Continue studies. If the boy is willing to wait until approximately 2016–2017, the relationship can be kept open. Be prepared, however, that the boy may not be willing to wait that long and it may not ultimately work out — in which case someone else will come at the right time.
Prediction: Marriage will likely occur in 2017 or 2018, during the Rahu-Mercury Antardasha when Mercury (Navamsa 7th lord in Lagna) is activated.
"There's no harm in asking, saying that she can get married to that person if she's interested, if she likes the person, but not now." — PVR
Current Year Chart (2012) — Not Showing Marriage
| Feature | Position | Marriage Signal? |
|---|---|---|
| Annual Lagna from natal | 11th house from natal Scorpio | Shows gains, not marriage |
| Hora lord / Ruler of year | Sun — 12th lord in 8th house (Rashi) | Not conducive |
| Sun in Navamsa | 5th lord in 8th house | Okay placement, but not marriage-specific |
| 7th house in Navamsa | Saturn + Rahu (Bhadaka lords, 11th lords) | Obstructing force in 7th |
| 7th lord Venus | Debilitated in 5th house | Debilitated 7th lord — very weak |
Conclusion for 2012: Lagna and 7th house both afflicted in this year's Navamsa chart. Marriage clearly not indicated.
Next Year Chart (2013–14) — Slight Possibility
- Ruler of year: Saturn
- Saturn in 2013 Navamsa: if Lagna is correct (tight margin of ~48 seconds), Saturn could be 7th lord in 7th house — a clear marriage indicator
- But: Lagna lord Moon is afflicted by Rahu, the 8th lord
- Verdict: Some chance, but not guaranteed; birth time margin makes it uncertain
Tithi Pravesh Annual Chart for 2016-17 {#tithi-pravesh-2017}
PVR examined the 2016–17 Tithi Pravesh (annual solar return based on Sun-Moon angle) to confirm 2017 as the marriage year.
Key Indicators in 2016-17 Tithi Pravesh
| Feature | Position | Significance |
|---|---|---|
| Tithi Pravesh Lagna | Taurus with Venus (Lagna lord) | Lagna lord in own Lagna — very strong |
| 7th house | Scorpio with Mars | 7th lord Mars in 7th house — marriage |
| Saturn (Yoga-karaka) | In 7th house with Mars | Yoga-karaka + 7th lord = Raja Yoga in 7th |
| Navamsa 7th lord Sun | Exalted in 3rd house | Exalted 7th lord — strong |
| 3rd lord ↔ 7th lord | Parivarthana (exchange) | 7th lord Sun exalted, 3rd lord in 3rd |
| Navamsa Lagna lord | 11th house aspecting Lagna | Lagna lord well-placed |
| Venus (Yoga-karaka) | Exalted | Strong Yoga-karaka |
| Tithi Pravesh Lagna vs. natal Lagna | Annual Lagna in 7th house from natal Scorpio | Annual focus = marriage/partner |
| Hora lord | Sun | Sun = exalted 7th lord in Navamsa |
"Lagna and seventh house have several Raja Yogas. Fourth lord, ninth lord, seventh lord, Lagna lord — basically all the quadrant lords and then ninth lord are on the second, seventh house axis." — PVR
Tithi Pravesh Dasha for February–March 2017: Saturn Dasha activates in February–March. Saturn is Yoga-karaka in the 7th house in the Rashi chart of this annual, and Saturn is the Lagna lord in the Navamsa aspecting Lagna. Saturn Antardasha of Mercury in natal Vimshottari may also coincide.
February second half and March first half of 2017 is the strong prediction window for marriage. Additionally, Mahamuhurtas (auspicious wedding periods) fall in this timeframe.
Foreign Settlement Prediction for Sri Vidya {#foreign-settlement}
PVR also noted strong indicators for foreign relocation in Rahu Dasha:
| Factor | Detail |
|---|---|
| Rahu in Rashi chart | 12th house — foreign residence |
| Chaturthamsha (D4) | Rahu with 12th lord Mars; aspects 9th house (foreign fortune) |
| Saturn in D4 | 9th lord affecting 4th lord — living abroad |
| The proposed match | Man likely relocating to US in ~6 months |
"I expect that irrespective of who she gets married to, I expect that in the next few years, basically before Rahu Dasha ends, I expect her to move abroad — in the Rahu-Saturn period." — PVR
Most likely period for foreign relocation: Rahu-Saturn Antardasha (alternatively Rahu-Jupiter is possible as Jupiter is 12th in Rashi).
Chart 2 — Mechanical Engineering Student {#chart2-student}
Birth Details
| Field | Detail |
|---|---|
| Date of Birth | July 8, 1992 |
| Time of Birth | 21:56:30 IST |
| Place | Hyderabad, India |
| Longitude | 78°30′E |
| Latitude | 17°27′N |
| Rashi Lagna | Aquarius (rectified from Gemini) |
| D24 Lagna | Cancer (rectified from Gemini) |
| Interests | Cars, environmental conservation, mechanical engineering |
Background
- Chart analyzed in a previous class — mechanical engineering was suggested
- He followed the recommendation, now in 3rd year mechanical
- Current problem: works very hard but gets low grades; poor test performance
- Current Dasha: Jupiter (till 2018)
Rashi Chart Analysis
Jupiter Dasha for Aquarius Lagna:
| Factor | Detail | Implication |
|---|---|---|
| Jupiter's lordship | 2nd and 11th lord | Clear functional malefic for Aquarius Lagna |
| Jupiter's placement | 7th house (Kendra) | In Kendra, but as a functional malefic, aspects on Lagna are not helpful |
| 4th house (studies) taken as Lagna | Jupiter = 8th and 11th lord in 4th house | Malefic aspecting studies house from studies house |
Conclusion: Jupiter Dasha is not the best period for academic success. This is not cause for alarm — "there are people who do average and then they take off when the time comes."
Saturn Dasha (2018–2037): Major improvement expected
- Saturn is Lagna lord + 12th lord for Aquarius = functional benefic
- Saturn is in 12th house in own sign → Vipreet Raja Yoga (reversal from difficulty to rise)
- Only Mercury aspects Saturn (6th lord aspecting 12th) → does not break the yoga
- Saturn is retrograde → extra effort required before rewards come, but rewards are real
"Once Saturn Dasha comes, his life will be different. He'll be far more successful than he's in the Jupiter period." — PVR
Corrected Siddhamsha D24 — Even Sign Rule Revisited {#corrected-siddhamsha}
This class contains PVR's most explicit explanation of the corrected Parasara Siddhamsha rule to date.
Standard (Incorrect) Calculation
For odd signs: start from Leo, count forward (Leo → Virgo → … → Cancer → Leo → …), 24 divisions For even signs (old method): start from Cancer, count forward (Cancer → Leo → Virgo → … → Gemini → Cancer → …)
Problem: The even-sign sequence going forward from Cancer produces an asymmetric result — no mirror symmetry with the odd-sign sequence.
Corrected Calculation (PVR's New Method)
For even signs: start from Cancer, count backward (Cancer → Gemini → Taurus → Aries → … → Leo, then repeat)
This creates a perfect mirror image between odd and even signs at the Cancer-Leo axis. It is consistent with Parasara's explicit statement that "reckoning is reverse for even signs."
"This is a perfect mirror image of the other one. It is structurally sound, and it makes sense with the wording Parasara said, and it explains things better." — PVR
Impact on the Student's Chart
Only Mercury changed position in this correction (Mercury was in an even sign in the Rashi chart):
| Planet | Old D24 Position | Corrected D24 Position |
|---|---|---|
| Mercury (in even sign) | Libra | Aries (opposite, due to reverse count) |
| Saturn (in Cancer/Capricorn axis) | Unchanged | Unchanged (7th from self = same in forward or reverse) |
"So only Mercury changes from Libra to Aries." — PVR
After correction: Mercury is now in Aries in D24, and Venus remains in Libra (10th house from Lagna). Both are exalted in their respective positions, creating a Raja Yoga between Lagna lord and 5th lord, both exalted, in samsaptaka (7th from each other).
Application to Other Divisional Charts
PVR notes this correction logically applies to other Calcrsha-type divisional charts as well (including Dashamsha, etc.) for planets in even signs. However, he has not yet fully verified all implications and retains the older method for other charts until further research confirms the pattern.
Career Arc — Dashamsha and Siddhamsha Analysis {#career-arc}
Dashamsha (D10) Analysis
| Dasha Period | Assessment |
|---|---|
| Jupiter Dasha (till 2018) | Jupiter = 7th and 10th lord in Aquarius D10 → functional malefic; debilitated in 8th house → career starts but with setbacks and discomfort |
| Saturn Dasha (2018–2037) | Saturn = 8th and 9th lord in 11th house → functional benefic in house of gains; alone (no afflictions from full aspects) → good, consistent career gains |
| Mercury Dasha (2037–2054) | ← The Golden Period |
The Mercury-Venus Raja Yoga in D24 Siddhamsha
| Planet | D24 Position | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Mercury (Lagna lord in D24) | Cancer D24, 4th house | Exalted |
| Venus (5th lord in D24) | Libra, 10th house | Exalted |
| Relationship | Samsaptaka (7th from each other) | Mutual Raja Yoga |
This Raja Yoga — both Lagna lord and 5th lord exalted and in mutual 7th-house aspect — is described by PVR as "a really perfect yoga. It's not really blemished."
"From then [Mercury Dasha starting ~2037], a period of seventeen years, forty-three to sixty. That'll be like the golden period. Mercury Dasha will be an awesome period for him. And particularly Mercury-Venus, whenever it comes, 2040–2043 timeframe, that'll be like a pinnacle in the career." — PVR

D24 Siddhamsha Jupiter Dasha Assessment
Jupiter in D24: 9th lord in 3rd house (Mangal Ka Sthana), aspecting his own sign (9th house). 9th lord = house of higher education and bachelor's studies. His own sign aspecting from the 3rd house = his energy is there but from a difficult angle. Result: studies continue and degree completes, but not without friction.
Current Antardasha progress:
| Antardasha | Period | D24 from 9th-house Lagna | Assessment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Venus (recent) | Past | 3rd and 8th lord in 6th house | Difficult — functional malefic; tension and unhappiness |
| Sun (current) | Now | 6th lord in 12th house, with 9th lord Mars | Better — Vipreet Raja Yoga partial; partial relief |
| Moon (next year) | 2013–14 | 5th lord in 4th house from 9th as Lagna; 11th lord in 10th from Dasha lord | Very good — improvement in studies |
"Towards the end of next year, things will improve. 2014 will be a good year for him, for studies." — PVR
Advice: Maintain confidence. Do not give up or drop out. "Things will work out. I have to keep slogging and then eventually things will work out."
Internship Timing (Summer 2013) {#internship}
The student wants to try for an internship in summer 2013 (end of Jupiter-Sun Antardasha).
Siddhamsha 10th House Analysis (Learning Through Work)
From the 10th house (work) in D24 as Lagna:
- Lagna lord Mars + 5th lord Sun are in the 11th house of gains
- 1st and 5th lords together in the 11th is a strong yoga
- This shows great practical learning at the workplace
"From the tenth house of career, this combination is great. First lord and fifth lord in the eleventh house, affecting fifth house. This is actually a very good peak time." — PVR
Dashamsha Confirmation
From 4th house (learning) in D10 as Lagna:
- Sun = 12th lord in 6th house (from 4th as Lagna) — good placement (12th in 6th removes exile/loss)
- Sun with 10th lord Jupiter in D10 — links work and learning
Verdict: Good chance of getting a strong internship. The Siddhamsha shows more learning than actual work — this will be primarily a learning experience, which is exactly what an internship should be.
